I have a south facing, sun-drenched 2-bedroom apartment in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.
The bedrooms are private and cozy. Each are open plan with wall-mounted racks for your clothing. They both have very comfy queen-sized beds with high thread count sheets. They also boast a lot of space under the bed for luggage or anything else. For your comfort on hot nights they both have air conditioners which really will keep you cool. For those chilly nights there’s a heater in each room. Extra blankets are available.
As you can see in the pictures the main room is a kitchen/living space. There is also a balcony outside. I'm working on the large yard in the back, which will eventually (email hidden) to relax.
The apartment comes with free WiFi during your stay, and I provide a set of towels as well. (No one likes to travel with towels).
The kitchen could be called a chef's kitchen, because it's pretty big. The oven is convection and amazing, so is the induction cooktop. You're welcome to use all the cookware and dishes, and you'll have your own small fridge. I also have a very functional kettle. (If you've spent time in England, you know the importance of this.)
The neighborhood is awesome. The house is located just off Franklin Avenue, which has many great restaurants, bars, and shops. We have a wonderful supermarket just 2 blocks away.
The Subways A, C, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are all within a 5-minute walk. I get to midtown in 25-minutes easy. The A train, which comes from JFK airport, stops 4 blocks away at Nostrand Avenue. From the airport to my place is about 40-minutes.
There are plenty of parking spaces in this part of Brooklyn. If you need it, parking will not be a problem.
If you're thinking about coming with more than 4 people, the couch is a queen-sized pullout. It’s also available as an option for a 5th or 6th person. (Please inquire if you’re interested in this, and we'll discuss the rate.)
I have a great little neighborhood guide and some local maps to help you get a feel for the area. I'm also located just 2 blocks from a Citi Bike rental station, if you feel like using a bicycle to get around.
If you’re interested in renting a room here, let me know. If you haven't already, please thoroughly review the listing, including the room description, house rules, and guest reviews.
Sorry, no pets. Smokers, please smoke outside only.
Thanks for looking.
NOTE: The stairs up to the apartment are temporary, they're not super pretty, but they do the trick. (I'll be replacing them eventually).

Sam was a great host and my family loved living in his beautiful apartment. The apartment has great light, a comfortable living space and a very tasteful decor, right from the coffee table to the chandelier in the bathroom. The kitchen is spacious for those who want to cook their meals. The area is great and has some wonderful restaurants and bars and really charming to walk around in. Unfortunately, we left a little bit of mess when we checked out, which probably means that we won't get to stay in this wonderful apartment again, but for those of you who can, you absolutely must.
Sam's space is really stylish. He's clearly put a lot of work into making it a unique and classy home. We were travelling with our one-year-old toddler which presented some challenges, and I would not recommend this apartment to someone else travelling with a small child who might throw food on the rug, eat off the painted plywood floors, and pull things off shelves. We were able to make it work, and Sam was very helpful answering our questions. If you're young at heart, hip and excited to explore gritty Brooklyn, this place is ideal.
Our stay in Sam's place was really nice! We never met Sam but he was always available to answer our questions during booking. A friend of his welcome us when we got there. She was very helpful with us, give us some cool places to go around. Electric problems did not allow us to use some heaters, so the temperature was a little cold, mostly for the person who slept in the lounge. We felt secure in the streets and you have to walk like 5 minutes to take the train that lead you on manhattan. Good place to stay! Thanks!
A beautiful apartment with incredible attention to detail and excellent style! We loved staying at Sam's apartment. The location is great with tons of cool bars nearby, the Brooklyn Museum, Prospect Pk, and all the subway lines you could ever need. The kitchen is spacious with a great induction stove, and the main room is great for small gatherings with drinks. Lots of sunlight throughout. Very comfortable beds and the balcony overlooking the garden was really lovely. Everything from the spices, kitchen ware, towels and basic food items were well-stocked! Good central speakers in the kitchen for playing music. Sam was very communicative, accommodating and a very solid host! We'd love to stay there again.
Sam's place was great. We loved the neighbourhood. Some great bars are just up the street and the subway is a short walk away. We never met Sam but he was easy to communicate with. Amazingly decorated and spacious apartment that felt like home. My only wish would have been that the place was a little cleaner but otherwise no other complaints.
