About This Listing
Beautiful vintage decorated 2 bedroom apartment with a secret garden in the heart of historic Brooklyn. Modern appliances with great heating and air conditioning throughout the house. Steps from great restaurants, cafes, nightlife, and transport.
I have a south facing, sun-drenched 2-bedroom apartment in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.
The bedrooms are private and cozy. Each are open plan with wall-mounted racks for your clothing. They both have very comfy queen-sized beds with high thread count sheets. They also boast a lot of space under the bed for luggage or anything else.
The house has central heating and AC separate controls for each room, so you'll never be too hot or too cold.
As you can see in the pictures, the main room is a kitchen/living space which is shared. There is also a balcony outside the main space which has a stair access down to the garden. The garden is very large with lots of outdoor seating. The garden is shared during the week days with the coworking space I run on the first floor.
The apartment comes with free WiFi during your stay, and I provide a set of towels as well. (No one likes to travel with towels).
The kitchen could be called a chef's kitchen, because it's pretty big. The oven is convection and amazing, so is the induction cooktop. You're welcome to use all the cookware and dishes, and the full size refrigerator. I also have a very functional kettle. (If you've spent time in England, you know the importance of this.)
The neighborhood is awesome. The house is located just off Franklin Avenue, which has many great restaurants, bars, and shops. We have a wonderful supermarket just 2 blocks away.
The Subways A, C, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are all within a 5-minute walk. I get to midtown in 25-minutes easy. The A train, which comes from JFK airport, stops 4 blocks away at Nostrand Avenue. From the airport to my place is about 40-minutes.
There are plenty of parking spaces in this part of Brooklyn. If you need it, parking will not be a problem.
If you're thinking about coming with more than 4 people, the couch is a queen-sized pullout. It’s available as an option for a 5th or 6th person.
I have a great little neighborhood guide and some local maps to help you get a feel for the area. I'm also located just 2 blocks from a Citi Bike rental station, if you feel like using a bicycle to get around.
If you’re interested in renting a room here, let me know. If you haven't already, please thoroughly review the listing, including the room description, house rules, and guest reviews.
Sorry, no pets. Smokers, please smoke outside only.
NOTE: The stairs up to the apartment are temporary, they're not super pretty, but they do the trick. (I'll be replacing them eventually).
Guests are welcome to the kitchen, living room, bathroom, balcony, and garden.

The apartment is exactly as described…. Super super sunny! Maybe a little shade is the bedrooms will help in the morning!
Sam was very easy to communicate with and we never ran in any problem.
Sam was a great host and his apartment was so comfy and enjoyable (very nice garden)! He left addresses of great places to go, plans of the neighborhood, etc. The neighborhood is amazing, lots of nice bars, very good restaurants and most important, nearby lots of trains station. We definitely enjoyed our stay thanks to Sam's apartment! Merci beaucoup Sam!!
The neighborhood is an interesting one, with many places to get grocery or to eat at, and Sam was of good advice. The flat is nice, we had breakfast on the balcony every morning. It is very easy to go to downtown with either the C or 5 line, or to Conney Island the other direction.
