The Neighborhood

The apartment is very well connected to the city center, just down the apartment there is a bus stop, 10 minutes ride to Piazza Venezia (bus 170), where the Roman Forum is and the Colosseum is only at 5 minutes walking distance!
The bus 170 also leads to the main station in Rome (Termini Station).
At night, the bus 780 gets to the heart of Trastevere in only 10 minutes (Mastai Square stop) great area with a lot of restaurants and places to taste the typical Roman food.

Near home, you can find a supermarket, a bank and a pharmacy. Just in front of the flat there is a good restaurant/pizzeria called 'Retro' where you can it very good meat or pizza. If you want a take away dinner, I suggest you ' Umbria - Pizzeria, snack bar and grill' in Piazza della Radio 18-19. Ernesto and Alessandro have absolutely good pizza slices with zucchini flowers, and mozzarella baked with mushrooms and tuna, stuffed with ham and soft cheese. For a quick and fresh lunch that is just the right place: lasagna, zucchini and ham pie, chicken skewers or Tuscan, turkey dumplings, sea bass in salt crust and vegetables at will.

Instead if you want taste great coffee and good brioches, you have to go to 'Mario Tornatora bar' in via Oderisi da Gubbio 27.

If you like homemade ice cream, try the fantastic ice cream 'mela e cannella' in via oderisi da Gubbio 71. There are very fabulous flavor like Apple and cinnamon or chocolate and rosemary.

Getting Around

Rome has many historic buildings, however, it is advisable to start your holidays from the heart of the eternal city: the Roman Forum (now become a pedestrian street) and the Coliseum. They are truly amazing! Getting there is very simple, just catch the bus 170 or 780 at the bus stop close to the house and get off at Piazza Venezia.
We recommend you to visit the markets of Trajan, adjacent to the Coliseum .
There is also a museum where you can see Roman art from the Roman Forum and the Capitoline Museum.
This is located on the Campidoglio hill next to City Hall in Rome, the square, the Town Hall and the museum designed by Michelangelo!
After the museum I suggest you take a walk on VIA DEL CORSO to get to Piazza del Popolo. On right side of Via del Course there are some very beautiful and famous streets, one of them is the famous Via Condotti, where there most beautiful shops in Rome are! Here you can also admire the famous steps of Trinità dei Monti and Piazza di Spagna with its beautiful fountain designed by Bernini!
I recommend you visit the Via del Babbuino and Via Margutta, where Federico Fellini lived for 40 years!

If you love coffee, in the historic center of Rome you have the opportunity to taste the best coffee in three fantastic places:
- Caffè di S. Eustachio in Piazza S. Eustachio: you can have the best espresso in Rome
- Ice cream FIOCCO DI NEVE in via del Pantheon: Try the ZABAIONE drowned in the coffee ... a delight!
- CAFFÈ LA TAZZA D'oro in via Degli Orfani close to the Pantheon: the coffee with cream or iced coffee with cream is a MUST!
