Interaction with Guests
We generally greet our guests when they arrive and check in to see if all is going smoothly.
Our neighborhood is comprised of about 50% residents and 50% second homes the owners of which are all wonderful. It is very quiet bordering a very large arroyo offering interesting walks along the upper edge and through the bottom. A short walk will take you to the access of the Southern Boundary hiking trail in the foothills of the Sangre de Christo range.
The Chile line is a public transportation bus that can be picked up at the hospital about 1/4 mi. away.
Small pets are permitted. Guests must be considerate. Smoking is permitted outside.
I arrived later than I had planned, which meant I did not get to spend as much time enjoying the Casita as I had hoped. Even so, it is as lovely and well appointed as previously noted.
The thing that struck me after a day of road noise and excitement, how it is so quiet and still - Both due to the neighborhood and the construction. Just perfectly still. It made it easy to feel at rest. I was also delighted to watch the quail and chipmunks eating seed right outside the window. There is a bench outside the front door that was perfect to catch the rising Suns rays with a cup of good coffee and hear the birds sing the day to life. I enjoyed the tall, rain head shower! I am tall and I often have to stoop.
These were just a few things that made it special for me. If you enjoy these kinds of things, you will be fully satisfied! Not even to mention the friendly welcome from our hosts. It was perfect.
I've been on the road for 3 weeks and so far this is the best airbnb experience. Leolyn and Jay were very accomodating. They had written instructions for the house and provided everything to the smallest detail. The casita was lovely and wonderful with a full kitchen and kitchen utensils. The futon in the living room was comfortable and sheets were provided. Their backyard was lovely with birds, rabbits and beautiful stars at night. Also the casita is about 15 mins drive from Taos pueblo.
This was a perfect spot for a special birthday trip in Taos, and in fact it exceeded our expectations. The casita isn't just furnished; it is gorgeously appointed and even feels curated. Looking over the bookcase, for example, it's hard to imagine a reading taste that the book selection couldn't accommodate. We were especially grateful for the items in the fridge. Our three-year-old loved playing on the grassy lawn behind the casita, taking in the sweeping views of the high desert and greeting the rabbits and birds. We'll definitely be back at "Leo's house" on our next trip to Taos.
Wonderful casita. Warm, refreshing. Wonderful host. It was exactly as advertised, and if you have never experienced Adobe living, it is wonderful, through the rapidly changing weather of early Spring. Leolyn has done a wonderful job decorating and equipping this casita, so I hope those that follow me will tread lightly and keep it nice.
Leolyn was welcoming and friendly. The space was clean, nicely decorated, well furnished and very pleasant. Good neighborhood - didn't feel like I needed to lock the door when I left the casita (but I did anyway).
Liked the fireplace. Nice outdoor area for sitting and relaxing with view of mountains. Easy off-street parking.
Convenient to the city of Taos and surrounding attractions. There is a laundromat nearby that will wash/dry/fold your laundry for $6 per load.
About the Host, Leolyn
My husband and I moved to New Mexico for the lifestyle. The sun, skiing, hiking, golf all played into our trek out here from various states in New England.
