Privacy and nature on the edge of the Village with a deck onto the yard, laundry, and small kitchen. Relatively quiet residential street. Walk to trails (2min), the famous Bow Street Market (3min), LLBean (5min), restaurants (3-8min), movie theater (4min), and Amtrak (4min). Have the best of both worlds!
This space is great! It is clean, simple, modest, and super comfortable. It is perfect for either a single/couple or a couple with one child. The bed is a queen Tempur-Pedic. Child can sleep on an air mattress. The yard is great for children too. What really makes this space unique is how separate it feels from the hustle and bustle of Freeport despite being just a few minutes walk away. Small TV does not have cable, but it does have DVD and we do have wireless.
Laundry in the bathroom, shower (no bath), private parking and entrance, small kitchen. All pots, pans, utensils, plates, etc. provided. If you need anything else, just ask! The loft you see the stairs going up to is not included.
We have a double kayak for medium-sized people to loan. We are a 3m drive to put in boats at Porter's Landing, or 5m from the Town Dock in S. Freeport Harbor.
We interact as much, or as little, as guests like. We are a teacher and an architect who are at work most days during the school year. We have three teenage daughters, one of whom is still in high school and living at home. She is a wonderful babysitter! We may need to access the laundry and if so would make arrangements to do so when it is convenient for you. The laundry/bathroom, connects our part of the house with the apartment. Locks, etc. are in place.
Jennifer was wonderful and the location was awesome. The room was nice in size, but not in pristine condition. The bed linens, kitchen and bathroom were clean, but the rug was badly stained and the curtains do not completely cover the windows.
Awesome location, right down the street from the heart of Freeport. Coordinating the stay with Jennifer was easier, very responsive over email the entire time. Her place has everything you need and the tempurpedic bed provided an amazing night's sleep. It provided a perfect getaway from my wife and I.
Great location with huge space and nice view. Jennifer is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
I couldn't have been happier with my five night stay. The studio is really spacious, comfortably furnished, and decorated nicely but in a homey way. While the apartment is connected to the rest of the house, noise and privacy weren't a concern.
There's a basic kitchen, and you're a few minutes walk from the excellent Bow St. Market, recently voted the best grocer in Maine. It was great to leave the car parked and stroll downtown, as well. It really is in the perfect location.
Jennifer and family were all friendly and helpful. They were happy to give advice before and during my stay, and were cheerfully responsive to anything I needed or requested. Staying here made a great Freeport visit even better, and I absolutely hope to return!
Great Location! Clean and efficient. Glad to have been able to work out a good time to book.
The studio is great if you are looking for a clean quiet place with convenient access to Freeport, ME. 5 minutes walk from train and town.
Jennifer's studio was clean and comfortable. The location was within walking distance to quite a few restaurants and shops. In fact, Jennifer's dinner recommendation of the Broken Arrow Tavern was on point! The food was very tasty and the ambiance was like a Maine lodge--very cool! The apartment was spacious with lots of windows and light, but there was still a sense of seclusion and safety. I would highly recommend this host and property for your next getaway!
The studio is large and comfortable. It is within walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants and Freeport is within driving distance to a ton of other small towns and beautiful places. This was a great mid-trip stop for us, as we had access to laundry. We didn't actually meet Jennifer due to the timing of our arrival, but her husband welcomed us and gave us some great suggestions of places to visit during our stay (Cape Elizabeth was one of our favorites).
Jennifer was very easy to communicate with, making the spot easy to find and the check-in smooth. (Jennifer wasn't home, so the door was left open for us)
The setting was nice, being an attachment onto the back of their house, in a quiet, cozy neighborhood. It was also within walking distance to the outlets in Freeport.
We found the place to be very spacious, with a very comfortable bed.
Our only suggestions for improvement, would be to have a few more amenities for coffee/breakfast in the morning; an option for a key to the apartment in case we wanted to lock it; and the carpeting looked a little worn and could use a deep clean.
Great for our one night stay in Maine, where we hit Portland for a concert, drove up to Augusta and then back down the coast for some fresh seafood.
Before leaving, we were able to say hello to Jennifer and have a nice chat. She was very nice and gave us a few suggestions for sight seeing.
Good experience overall!
This is a lovely light and airy room with a well-equipped kitchen and bath. Nice deck and yard....all within walking distance of downtown Freeport. You might need a nightlight for the bathroom, and eye mask is suggested if you don't want to wake up with the dawn. Nice place!
Jennifer and her family offer a great retreat: it is spacious, cozy, clean and comforting--especially the Temperpedic bed! One of the best parts is the proximity--walking distance to everywhere in Freeport, and that is a good no hassle feeling. Additionally, Jennifer (didn't meet her husband) is a sweet, friendly, approachable host with many helpful suggestions for one's time in Freeport.
