Privacy and nature on the edge of the Village with a deck onto the yard, laundry, and small kitchen. Relatively quiet residential street. Walk to trails (2min), the famous Bow Street Market (3min), LLBean (5min), restaurants (3-8min), movie theater (4min), and Amtrak (4min). Have the best of both worlds!
This space is great! It is clean, simple, modest, and super comfortable. It is perfect for either a single/couple or a couple with one child. The bed is a queen Tempur-Pedic. Child can sleep on an air mattress. The yard is great for children too. What really makes this space unique is how separate it feels from the hustle and bustle of Freeport despite being just a few minutes walk away. Small TV does not have cable, but it does have DVD and we do have wireless.
Laundry in the bathroom, shower (no bath), private parking and entrance, small kitchen. All pots, pans, utensils, plates, etc. provided. If you need anything else, just ask! The loft you see the stairs going up to is not included.
We have a double kayak for medium-sized people to loan. We are a 3m drive to put in boats at Porter's Landing, or 5m from the Town Dock in S. Freeport Harbor.
Interaction with Guests
We interact as much, or as little, as guests like. We are a teacher and an architect who are at work most days during the school year. We have three teenage daughters, one of whom is still in high school and living at home. She is a wonderful babysitter! We may need to access the laundry and if so would make arrangements to do so when it is convenient for you. The laundry/bathroom, connects our part of the house with the apartment. Locks, etc. are in place.
Amtrak station is a five minute walk.
Other Things to Note
No pets please.
We really enjoyed our time in Freeport. The location was super convenient and perfect for our stay! Jennifer was also very responsive throughout the entire process.
Jennifer and Jason's "sunny studio" was perfect for our stay in Freeport! Their home is within walking distance of LL Bean and the surrounding shopping area, which was our main attraction. Their neighborhood felt very safe and we felt comfortable walking about, even at dusk.
The studio was large and would be great for up to four people (more than enough room for an airmatress). The kitchen was also nice. The room was very clean and the bed was wonderfully soft.
Jen was very quick to respond to messages-- if not within a couple hours then definitely within the day.
When we arrived, Jen's husband Jason met us in the driveway and showed us to the studio, which is attached to the back of their house. Being that we were out and about a lot over the course of our 3 day stay, we only bumped into him once more but all interactions were friendly. Nice and welcoming family overall!
Perfect location, perfect accommodations and lovely, experienced hosts. We stayed for five nights and used our little Freeport nest as a sort of home base for exploring the area. Jennifer offered excellent restaurant recommendations, and we were able to cook and eat in whenever we wanted due to the well-stocked kitchen and grocery store within walking distance. I couldn't imagine a better place to stay in or around Freeport.
Great location. Near LL Bean & shopping. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was very clean.
Jennifer's place is just as pictured. It is clean, incredibly comfortable, and quiet. This is an awesome place to get away for a quiet weekend. I have been to Freeport many times and this is a really nice affordable place to stay. The location could not be more perfect. A quick walk to the downtown area.
Jennifer gave quick responses to emails and had great suggestions for things to do. She is willing to meet guests if they desire. My plans went a little whacky so I never got the chance to meet her personally, but through our correspondence she was attentive and very kind. Thanks for letting us stay, Jennifer!
Jennifer's place was exactly what we needed. Clean and much bigger than it looks. Thanks Jennifer!
The apartment was comfortable and the location was excellent! We didn't have much interaction with Jennifer because our schedule was very tight while we were in Freeport, but she was very pleasant and polite in our brief exchange. I definitely felt this was a better choice than a normal hotel for our purposes.
We are a busy family of five, when everyone is home that is! I'm a teacher at our local Waldorf school, Jason is an architect working in Boston most days, and one of our girls is at home and a senior in high school. Our twin girls are at Smith and Bates. We are pretty relaxed and relatively quiet, but we enjoy a crowd too. We all love meeting new people!
