About This Listing
Privacy and nature on the edge of the Village with a deck onto the yard, laundry, and small kitchen. Relatively quiet residential street. Walk to trails (2min), the famous Bow Street Market (3min), LLBean (5min), restaurants (3-8min), movie theater (4min), and Amtrak (4min). Have the best of both worlds!
This space is great! It is clean, simple, modest, and super comfortable. It is perfect for either a single/couple or a couple with one child. The bed is a queen Tempur-Pedic. Child can sleep on an air mattress. The yard is great for children too. What really makes this space unique is how separate it feels from the hustle and bustle of Freeport despite being just a few minutes walk away. Small TV does not have cable, but it does have DVD and we do have wireless.
Laundry in the bathroom, shower (no bath), private parking and entrance, small kitchen. All pots, pans, utensils, plates, etc. provided. If you need anything else, just ask! The loft you see the stairs going up to is not included.
We have a double kayak for medium-sized people to loan. We are a 3m drive to put in boats at Porter's Landing, or 5m from the Town Dock in S. Freeport Harbor.
Interaction with Guests
We interact as much, or as little, as guests like. We are a teacher and an architect who are at work most days during the school year. We have three teenage daughters, one of whom is still in high school and living at home. She is a wonderful babysitter! We may need to access the laundry and if so would make arrangements to do so when it is convenient for you. The laundry/bathroom, connects our part of the house with the apartment. Locks, etc. are in place.
Amtrak station is a five minute walk.
Other Things to Note
No pets please.
Great location, very comfortable. We enjoyed staying here!
This sunny studio is just as advertised. It is quiet, clean and perfect for a weekend in Freeport.
Amazingly warm and welcoming hosts. clean spacious bright full kitchen studio apartment with bonus of a washer dryer. My flights got messed up and the hosts went shopping for a small snack to have waiting for me when I arrived which was very welcome at 1 am. The bed was extremely comfortable I would stay there again without a second thought and would recommend you do the same.. I can't wait for my next trip!!.
As prior reviewers noted you can hear the host slightly from the bathroom but this did not at all detract from the stay and the hosts were extremely quiet. They went the extra mile!!
The host canceled this reservation 12 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
This is our first cancellation in two years and hopefully our last! Julia just inquired today and I accepted before checking with everyone I needed to check with to make sure the Studio was available. There are very rarely conflicts, in fact we've not had one since we began hosting. This one got us, unfortunately.
Everything was as it is described. The location is very close to the heart of Freeport so we were able to walk into town for dinner etc. The bed was very comfortable and the area so quiet we were able to sleep with the windows open. Unfortunately we never met up with the hosts due to us being quite busy, but they were very keen to ensure we had a comfortable stay. The laundry facilities were very welcome!
We had a great stay in Freeport at Jennifer's place! Place is super tidy and comfortable. There was nice patio and garden in the back which was great to hangout in the evening! Would love to stay here again.
Everything about my experience was positive and perfect. Jennifer was warm, friendly and accommodating. She made me feel welcome and right at home. The room was large, light, clean and comfortable with a glorious bed and the most unusual table and chair set I've ever seen. Loved it. I also enjoyed Freeport. Fun place with tons of amenities especially if you love shopping and, of course, LL Bean. Thanks again to my hosts.
About the Host, Jennifer
We are a busy family of five, when everyone is home that is! I'm a teacher at our local Waldorf school, Jason is an architect working in Boston most days, and one of our girls is at home and a senior in high school. Our twin girls are at Smith and Bates. We are pretty relaxed and relatively quiet, but we enjoy a crowd too. We all love meeting new people!
