The Space

This "listing" is for 1 or 2 bedrooms, price per double room.. Sleep to the sounds of Rio Naranjo and awaken at sunrise (Amanecer) to the sounds of song birds. Discover the real Costa Rica, 10 miles EAST of Quepos. We are close enough to enJOY Manuel Antonio National Park, but worlds apart.

Here your family or group can discover the real Costa Rica in Londres! It's a typical Tico pueblo of 1500 people; with 2 mini-supers only 100 meters walk, a "soda" (cafe), full service restaurant-bar, plus parks, futbol (soccer) field and local bus service. Most of the "adventure tours" sold in Quepos actually take place out here: rafting, waterfalls, horses, ATV, repelling, zip lines, and birdwatching. Discover a nesting pair of Scarlett Macaws across the street, and the Titi monkeys have been on site enjoying the fruits of the finca.

The mini-suite has 2 bedrooms which share a Jack & Jill bath. Both room have their own sinks, with tiled floors and block walls to 2 feet and screened windows. The Poetry room has a Queen and one large Garden view window. Sunset has a double, individual and 2 garden view windows. A large tiled patio offers rocking chairs and hammocks, it's great for bird watching. The patio connects to the mini-suite with the Master Suite and 2 more bedrooms.

The Yoga floor is above my space, with the suites on each side. The new 12'x 24' Yoga floor is upstairs. This can double as massage area or sacred space. The rich dark wood floor and bamboo construction is surrounded by Night Blooming Jasmine, overlooking Rio Naranjo and 7 lush acres of paradise.

Rio Naranjo, across the street becomes a lazy river (Dec-April) and there is a creek on site (if you want to go skinny dipping). Only 40 minutes by car (on a dirt road) to world famous Manuel Antonio National Park. Quepos is a typical tourist town with lots of restaurants and shops, only 20-25 minutes by car (40 minutes by bus 6 or 7 times daily)

This is the Pura Vida (good life) life for sure, disconnect from stress, NO TV, no cell phones, and this is a NON-SMOKING FACILITY. We have ICE "High Speed" (512K ) WiFi (sometimes). Just enough to stay in touch. We tend to play lots of games at night and have interesting Videos or bring some to share.

Finca Amanecer has been operating as an Eco-lodge with breakfast at hostel prices since 2002. You'll find lots of happy clients on TripAdvisor, Happy Cow and other sites. We are in transition to a full Eco-commUNITY and transitioning out of the daily room rental market. We are heading towards retreats, workshops and the all inclusive "Longevity Education Center". We still rent rooms on a daily basis, just understand "You'll be treated as part of the community rather than guests." What does that mean? We may have projects going on, and this year the community comes first, so .... no complaining about dirt roads or construction dust. LOL. You may also play in the gardens or cut flowers for your room. Healthy meals are available at reasonable rates. The price is per room. See create a Yoga workshop for the entire facility.

Suitable for Events. YES the Bamboo Cathedral by the creek is suitable for outdoor weddings or fiestas. If YOU want to host your own retreat or workshop, please let us know and we can make arrangements for you to rent the entire facility, discounts available May-Dec 15. I can refer caterers, and transportation as well as book tours.

Guest Access

The guests will have access to the Community Kitche and 7 acres of spices and the Enchanted Bamboo Forest out back, and a creek on the southern boarder.

Interaction with Guests

We can interact or not depending on the guests. El Patio is generally common area, and friends and neighbors often drop by.

The Neighborhood

Londres is a typical Tico town and it is SAFE to walk around, even at night There is a "soda: (small restaurant) and the well stocked Mini0Super is open from 06:00 till 8PM. Lots of friendly people to practice your Spanish with.

Getting around

There are 7 buses a day to and from Quepos with buses 2 or 3 times per hour to Manuel Antonio. There is also regional buses to all parts of Costa Rica and the Quepos Airport.

Other Things to Note

Lots of parking and plenty of great places to hike. MOST of the adventure tours sold in Quepos actually take place out here.

  • Elena's place is quite special, it's secluded, which made it a bit tricky to find, but it's surrounded by nature and very nice and pleasant. She showed us around, made us banana bread baked in sun oven, and we had a lot of interesting talks. We also met all kinds of interesting people staying at her place. Over all it was a wonderful experience that we won't forget.

    Response from Elena:

Thank you!! Yes, it is an "Experience" not just a hotel. And Londres is such a sweet Tico town. I am so glad your family was able to discover something other than "Hollywood on the beach". Hope to see you again real soon. Paz y luz, siempre...

About
This house is part of an Eco-Community. I have been guardian of the land since 2002. I guess you can say I am a visionary. I believe you can live better simply. I have taken an abandoned property and turned it into a 6 bedroom, 3 bath home with 2 kitchens. All connected by a common patio and Yoga floor above. The farm had been neglected for 10 years. Now, the campgrounds outback have allowed many young people to do their "journey work" as they discover life outside the box. We are planting pineapple, papaya, bananas and the vivero (nursery) is coming to life with tomatoes, cucumbers, garlic and more. I truly enjoy sitting on the patio, birdwatching and sharing "a Lust for Life" while living in harmony with neighbors and nature.
