  • Good house with everything a traveller needs. Better for a longer stay as its a bit of a walk to the old center, taxis a cheap and easy and never more than 5 soles.

  • The apartment is very comfortable, and easy to live in (we were for people), all equipped. It's located ins a quiet and secure place, 10 minutes (and 4 soles) from the center of Arequipa with a taxi.
Hilda is a very nice Host, and efficient when you need something.
A very good address to visit Arequipa

  • The place is spacious and has good hot water and wifi. The beds are fine. And it is quiet and has a lovely view. The Plaza de Armas is a short cab ride away, and there is a grocery store within walking distance, though not much else.

The water pressure in the toilets is low, and so they clog and smell, even with plunger use.

The support from the owner was great the first night but not after that. When we got in very late, she had her son take me shopping for groceries. After that, she did not reply to three emails with questions (and still hasn't). I think she is away, but she never told us that or had her son tell us. My Spanish is serviceable, as is his English.

Aside from sugar, salt, and orange drink that the owner left us, the kitchen had no staples: cooking oil, spices, napkins, etc. If you read an exchange with another renter, the owner points out that she doesn't promise anything else.

True. But if she would invest a bit in some basics and make people feel more at home during their stays, this would be a nice place. The owner seemed like a very nice person and I hope she will go this way.

  • This apartment was a great place to stay. My girlfriend and I stayed there for an entire week during January of 2014. Hilda was very sweet. When we realized out language gap upon meeting one another she got her neighbor to come by and explain everything to us as far as where the market was, how to use the wifi, and where to catch a taxi. A taxi from the house to the plaza de armas was 5 soles or you could walk it in about 15 minutes. We had hot water and a very big bed. Kitchen was basic but nice and clean. The roof top terrace was also very nice. For the price and proximity to the rest of the city, it was very good. Thank you hilda.

  • The apartment was great for the price and location. It has bare essentials but it would be nice if there was at least a sponge to wash dishes with and maybe some paper towels. The beds were very comfortable, water pressure was great although I would recommend letting the hot water heat up for longer than the 40mins recommended by the host if you want hot water for more than 5 minutes, the host was attentive and responsive. The only complaint I would have is that there is a lot of construction nearby and the walls are paper thin. On top of that the host has a very loud car that is parked right outside the master bedroom and woke me up a couple of times - it wasn't bad except for the one day I wanted to sleep in. It was great to have English channels on the TV in the master bedroom. I would consider staying there again, especially once the construction nearby is finished! I would certainly recommend it given the price and size of the place.

    Response from Hilda Socorro:

Muchas gracias.
