Apartment is steps away from all the local bars and restaurants. You'll be right across the street from Amtrak station and a short walk to the University. You'll have your own entrance, bedroom, bathroom, and full use of the shared living room. As indicated on my page the bed is an air mattress, however I have never had any complaints regarding its comfort and I find it rather comfortable myself!
**Please note: If you are interested in staying in my home, you must have a profile that is filled out, verified, with a profile picture. I will not accept inquiries from persons with blank profiles. That's for both of our protection. Thank you. **
The parking is free on the weekends and after 6:00 pm on weekdays. As you will note when coming to Carbondale all lots are metered pay, please be aware of that!

Rachel is an amazing host. She is polite and friendly. Everything you need is readily available and being an AirBnB Host myself, my standards are high. As with any AirBnB, read the reviews and choose the best place for your needs. IF Rachel's Apartment sounds like it is a great fit for what you are looking for then it is.
Thank you Rachel I look forward to introducing you to my wife upon her arrival in the area. Thank you so much for your kindness and assistance finding a new home in the area.
Good luck in School...Hope to see you soon.
Rachel was a perfect host. I felt welcome and she made sure that I knew how to get around town to all of my desired destinations. Her apartment is clean, cozy, and well-appointed. It is also right around the corner from the main strip in Carbondale as well as the Amtrak station, which was exactly what I needed. I did not find street noise to be a problem, but there was a good amount of street light coming in the bedroom windows during the night.
We only stayed one night and never saw Rachel the entire time we were there. However, the key was where she said it would be, she left us a nice note, the apartment was very clean and orderly, and she left out some tea and coffee for us which is a nice touch.
We went out for the evening and got back kind of late. Rachel had the fans on for us so the room was comfortable. We were very skeptical of the air bed but once we got in to sleep, it was firm and comfortable as well. We slept very well.
The was a bit of traffic noise but nothing at all to complain about. The train is loud when it rolls through but we never found it to be a big issue.
The location is close to the University which is a huge plus for us when we visit our daughter.
Rachel is a lovely host, the apartment is clean and neat and just as described. Being "downtown" can be noisy, so earplugs might help all but the heaviest slumberers, but you can't beat the convenience to many things in the area, walking distance is a plus. Not many hosts will make you feel more welcome, I'd stay here again.
Good place for sound sleepers. If you sleep lightly, know that there is a train track nearby that runs throughout the night, and street lights are fairly bright through the windows. Sam was quite helpful in his description of local events and other spots to visit. I like Rachel's artwork, and she was very nice as well.
Staying with Rachel was fantastic - the room was spacious and well-furnished, and the airbed was very comfortable. Rachel was an incredibly welcoming and considerate host, she was out upon arrival but she left refreshments for me whilst she was out, and I was very well looked after for my entire stay. She is an intelligent and interesting person and really good to chat to as well. The apartment is right in the heart of Carbondale, within short walking distance of the restaurants, bars, and the Amtrak, and Southern Illinois University is very close by. Kitchen/bathroom facilities are great. If you have any questions about the city and its surroundings, Rachel will be able to help. I had a fantastic stay in Carbondale, and Rachel can take the credit for much of that.
About the Host, Rachel
I am currently in graduate school and finding it to be a challenging and satisfying experience. I believe where you are from only defines you if you stop evolving and learning. For this reason, I love traveling, meeting new people, learning about new places and experiencing new cultures.
