This newly renovated apartment is located behind our home in the Liberty-Wells neighborhood of SLC. It includes a full bathroom, queen bed with down comforter, small eating area and kitchenette with stove, oven, microwave and full-sized refrigerator. It is equipped with a separate furnace/AC unit, so climate control is at the push of a button and completely up to you.

Free Wi-Fi access, small TV with Blue Ray player (Red Box just around the corner) and rabbit ears that pick up basic channels (so vintage). Towels, bedding, coffee, salt, pepper and olive oil are supplied as well as drinking glasses, wine glasses, dishes, utensils and pots and pans. Utah maps adorn the walls for your viewing pleasure. Shared outdoor area with the main house. Free on street parking for one vehicle.

Interaction with Guests

My husband and I live in the main house in front, so you may be as private as you like, but have the option of knocking on the door, should any need arise. Come see us!

Quiet, safe, beautiful older neighborhood with tree lined streets and close access to the largest green space in Salt Lake City, Liberty Park. One block to the Park Cafe, best breakfast spot in town.

  • I arrived in Salt Lake from Montreal, with my luggage left in Chicago (lousy airports!). Upon meeting Julie and Dan, they were quick to offer a toothbrush and toothpaste, and fresh eggs, for my first (and luckily only) evening without my belongings.

They were friendly and informative, leaving several guidebooks and maps for me in the guesthouse. Their dog was adorable and extremely well behaved, and the amenities in the guesthouse all worked perfectly (especially the air-conditioner). It was a quaint area with lovely neighbours and a 7/11 right around the corner.

A great experience the whole week! Thanks so much for an amazing first AirBnB.

  • We had a wonderful stay in SLC at Julie and Dan's cottage. It was perfect for our needs and had all the expected amenities. I especially loved the deep tub! the parking was ample and we felt safe while we were in an unfamiliar place. We were in town for a conference and I was pleased that there was not much traffic. We are from the South, so I was very glad to have an air conditioner that kept us cool at night. Overall, if we ever go back to SLC, we would definitely stay at the cottage again. Thank you Julie!

  • Julie was perfect with communication, and the studio apartment was even better than we expected. We LOVED the location and the apartment. The hiking map on the wall provided us with an awesome morning hike (Blanche Lake). Thanks Julie!

  • This place was exactly what I needed for my time in Salt Lake: a clean, quiet, cozy place to sleep while I was in town. The coffee maker was much appreciated!

  • Julie's guest cottage was the perfect place for our stay. It was equipped with all the comforts of home.. and then some! Communication prior to our stay was great. Checkin/out process was easy peasy. I really appreciated the local recommendations and handmade customized mini guidebook. The pictures on the website for this place is fairly spot-on, so what you see is what you get. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone passing through SLC.

  • Julie's cottage is cozy, clean and well equipped. Everything I needed was provided. She was a great communicator, as well. I would definitely recommend her place for a stay for a single or a couple.

  • Everything about this place and our stay was perfect. Julie and Dan were gracious and accommodating hosts, the studio is just the right size and had everything we needed and the location was ideal. We hope to make this our 'home away from home' in SLC.
    Thanks y'all.

I am a 30's something ballerina turned wildland firefighter turned self-proclaimed geek. I grew up dancing in the Arkansas Ozarks where I attended college and obtained a degree in geography specializing in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). I then moved to Southern Utah where I met my husband fighting fire for the US Forest Service. We got married in a cave in Arkansas and then moved back to his home state of Oregon. We lived in the Portland area for three years vastly enjoying all the wine, produce, cuisine and culture that area has to offer. In 2012 I landed my “dream job” as the GIS Specialist for Wildland Fire and Fuels for the Bureau of Land Management here in Salt Lake (basically, I make maps for fires). So, we moved back to Utah and have been enjoying all SLC has to offer. We spend our free time backpacking, skiing, boating, biking, fishing and exploring the great state of Utah. I love the Wasatch Mountains, but really find my peace down in the Red Rocks of Southern Utah. I spend a good bit of my time at home in the garden, where there is so much to learn, grow and can. I love bluegrass music and my husband loves reggae, so we have a good mix of culture going on in our home. In July 2013 we got a black lab puppy that we adore. We have always loved hosting folks and very much look forward to getting to know the Airbnb community.
