Great apartment on the Peninsula. Easy in and out with street parking. The wood stove was a nice addition. Would stay here again.
What can we say about this place? It was perfect! Spacious, comfortable, breathtaking view of the valley, well located and amazing hosts. Our 3 year old made friends with Isabel's boys and literally cried when we had to leave. Such nice people.
The master bedroom is huge and the extra room, although small, is adequate as an extra bed. It is just off the main room though, so not soundproof (not an issue if you ask me...we managed just fine with a toddler sleeping in there). The kitchenette is ideal for breakfast, reheating stuff and they just added a cook plate and pans.
What's not to love? This is the best value, most memorable place in the valley.
I enjoyed my stay in Isabel & Michael Parrillas’s apartment. The apartment is accurately and fully described in the write-up and pictures on the airbnb site. The master suite and full bath up a half flight of steps from the living area is quite delightful, spacious and comfortable. Excellent bathroom with three separate areas for the i) two sinks, ii) shower and tub, iii) toilet and bidet. Living room is also as pictured with a nice wood burning stove and supplied firewood. Fire is not absolutely necessary in the Redwood City climate but it certainly more than took the evening chill off the room. There is a small spare room off the living area just a little larger than the bed it contains.
The eating area is not a full kitchen but does contain a small frig, electric oven and microwave. I brought my own electric kettle which I was thankful for.
Isabel & Michael were thoughtful hosts, even supplying me with a strainer to wash my morning berries. They are busy professionals and I didn’t run into them a great deal. Isabel warns that she has two boys but I rarely heard them and never unpleasantly.
My only complaint is that the advertised internet access is marginal. Internet access depends on accessing the router in the main house. I found it strongest in the master suite and very slow (about 1 gig download speed when it worked at all) in the living area. Michael is considering various alternatives to fix the problem (including hooking up a second modem to a cable outlet in the apartment). If this is important to you I would suggest inquiring before you rent.
All things considered I would probably rate this a 4.5 but taking into account all the things that were quite wonderful about the apartment and its location I rounded up.
Hi Michael! It was a pleasure meeting you and Barbara! Thank you so much for your review and nice comments! Thank you also for letting us know about the Internet connection speed. We have changed to ATT&T this week and the new host has confirmed that the Internet speed is working well. Really appreciate your feedback. It has helped us improve customer experience. Thank you! Isabel.
Isabel was a great host, and the apartment was well stocked, spacious, and a great location. Perfect airbnb experience.
Great place. Super friendly and nice. Ideal for short and long stays.
Isabel's apartment was lovely -- easily accessible from the freeway, very clean and well stocked with everything you need. It was great for a business stay, and I'm sure it'd be perfect for a holiday, as well! Highly recommended.
What a charming apartment!
Very convenient in a quiet neighborhood. Lots of space and a giant couch for lounging on. This was my first airbnb experience and I will be back!
Clean, quiet, comfortable and convenient. Win.
Everything was exactly as described and then a bit more. They were very welcoming and helpful as we needed to get in a bit earlier than expected.
What a beautiful view as well.
We live in town and stayed here for four nights during a home remodel. I would highly recommend the apartment. It was clean, roomy and Isabel was a great host.
My husband and I were delighted to stay in this Redwood City apartment during our visit to our son and his family. We enjoyed the spaciousness of both the living room, which offered nice views, and the bedroom-bathroom area. We had an abundance of space to spread out, including two small side rooms off the living area. In one of the two rooms, I appreciated finding a table to use while doing some computer work with some plain paper and a pen available in case I needed them. Isabel had a twin bed in the other small room, a convenient staging area for our sorting and packing without cluttering the living room since there were only the two of us. Let me mention that the TV was large with a very good picture, and a wood stove for heating, though we didn't need it.
The bed was super comfortable, the closet space copious, the shower large with plenty of hot water, and a soaking tub inviting.
I brought my own internet hub so didn't use the home wireless.
Isabel had basics in the small kitchen, including a bowl of fruit. It was furnished with a small refrigerator, toaster oven, microwave, dishes and utensils, and a small sink--perfectly adequate for breakfast and lunch and offering a place to hold over carryout or dinner leftovers. You would not cook a full dinner here, and with all the good restaurants in the area, why would you want to?
We will stay with Isabel in the future when we return to the Bay-Silicon Valley. She and her husband Mike are gracious, welcoming, and lovely, willing to answer questions or provide assistance they can.
