Sausalito and its famous houseboats have long attracted CEOs, writers, artists, scientists, filmmakers, and radicals to its blue waters and calm shores on the San Francisco Bay. It's here where Otis Redding penned the unforgettable song Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay. If you are looking to recharge your batteries, you can't get closer to the water and surrounding nature than this.
This 2BR / 1BA recently remodeled houseboat features stylish contemporary finishes and feels more like a luxe hotel suite than boat living. Best of all, the location is unbeatable and in the center of where all the action is: wine bars, dive bars, live jazz, award winning restaurants, and casual dining abound. Walk to ferry in 5 mins to go visit SF, or stay in and cook in the full kitchen and watch the sunset from the many decks. This is 500 sq ft of California indoor-outdoor living at its finest. We stayed here with another couple and had an absolutely wonderful time. We walked into town (basically across the street) and had a great night. As noted by other reviewers, the bunks are cramped but comfy, the water pressure is low, and the TV's internet connection is rather limited. But the view is great and the space is cozy and very nicely furnished. So don't come because you want a big place where everything works perfectly - come for a unique experience.
We had a wonderful time! Henry was very accommodating and helpful. Waking up on the ocean was delightful - we wish we could have stayed for longer!
Every detail regarding the boat was very well described and communicated before arrival. This place was just what the doctor ordered. Although it was very cold night, the two heaters did the trick and it was the best night of sleep my husband and I had in a long while. The water pressure was almost non-existent, the cable service was not able to play a movie without buffering every minute but we've could have cared less. It was a fantastic and comfortable place to spend New Years Eve and the following morning. To sum it up, we did not want to leave and we'll be back to spend a week.
We had a great time on Henry's house boat. I was with my 13 year old son. He loved it!!!
We slept like logs with the gentle rocking of the bay.
The only downside was the water pressure. However, we showered at the baths on the docks and ate out.
On the upside, once we parked our car we rented bikes and spent the next few days taking the ferry or cycling all over SFO, the Golden Gate bridge, Tiburon and a 1/2 dozen other places.
Would totally do it again.
We had fun but the water pressure was a challenge. Friendly marina with other people living on their boats
We were only here for a night but we had a wonderful time and loved the houseboat. We had dinner out back as the sun set and the views are spectacular. Our kids loved the sleeping nook and our bed was super comfortable. We were all warm and cozy. We lucked out and had amazing weather in the morning so we all took turns on the SUP and kayak and lounged around in the sun in the back deck. All the neighbors were super friendly and we loved checking out all the other interesting boats on the dock.
Henry's house boat was a perfect way for us to spend a few nights relaxing on the water. Very well appointed. Crowded, but doable for 5 adults.
