Stroncone is an uspoiled hill town of 6000 people, near to the town and transport hub of Terni, which has all the facilities of a modern town.
Small, compact, and little known outside of Italy, Stroncone is the ideal base for exploring the better known, and more crowded and expensive, towns of South Umbria - such as Spoleto, Todi, Montefalco, Trevi and Narni.
Roma, capital of Italy is easy to reach by train in less than 1 hours and 15 min, more simple by car.
The house is built into the old walls of the town and overlooks a beautiful valley which is accessed by a path a few hundred yards from the house. Then walks to the ridge of the Appennines - at a 1000 meters - are possible.
Althought small, the house is fully equipped, and ideal for a couple. it represents the best value to be had in South Umbria - and it also offers the property - one of the most friendly and helpful hosts imaginable.

Luca is a very nice and helpfull host, and is only a phonecall away if you need anything. The apartment is in a charming stonehouse, and has a cosy wooden fire for the colder nights, and Luca is helpful with getting some wood. In the apartment you find what you need for a holiday. Stroncone is a nice old town, with a couple of smal shops, bars and resturants. The people are lovely and the atmosphere is good. It is a great area if you like to go for a walk in the hills, and only a short bustrip from Terni.
We have just spend two lovely weeks in Lucas house in Stoncone. Everything written about Luca and his hospitality is absolutely true. Luca is a very kind host, who offers his help , when it is needed. Stroncone is a beautiful and peaceful town. You are welcomed in italian when you go to the lokal grocery.
The house, which is well equiped for the holiday, is nice and cosy. If you like to walk in the mountains, the surroundings are perfekt for both lang and shorter walks. We left a map in the house. You can take the lokal bus to Terni, which has very good connections by train to everywhere.
We will love to come back.
Thank you Luca, we look forward to your visit in Denmark :-).

This cozy little flat is a treasure hidden away in the mountains and valleys of Italy. It's close enough to Rome that you can be there in less than two hours with the bus and train station, but far enough away from big cities to give you a genuine break from the madness of modern life. To any individual or couple looking for a cheap and relaxing getaway, I fully recommend Luca's apartment in Stroncone. We couldn't have asked for a better host, he even picked us up from the train station and drove us there!
