Come stay at our lovely garden sanctuary located steps from the St. Charles Avenue street car and in one of the country's most beautiful neighborhoods. The private 600 sq ft. apartment is part of of our 140 year old shotgun home.
The sanctuary has two private entrances from a shared, lush, bricked courtyard. The space features a large bedroom, living room/ kitchenette, and bathroom. The beautiful rooms look on to a lovely courtyard garden that provides the heart of the sanctuary in the heart of the city. Guests go to sleep to the sound of fountains and wake up to the sound of birds. But yet you're in the middle of it all
Guests with a small child will enjoy the use of a Pack n Play.
The location of the space is convenient to all parts of New Orleans, especially fopr those visitors that will not have a car but want to see and experience all that New Orleans has to offer.
We are a block and half from the St. Charles Street Car and all of the Uptown Mardi Gras parades (including ZULU!!). The great restaurants of Magazine St are just a few beautiful blocks away. Garden District attractions including St. Louis Cemetary and Commander's Palace are at your fingertips. The historic New Orleans Street Car will take you on a breath-taking ride down oak-lined St. Charles Ave. to the French Quarter or to the University area. If you choose to drive or walk, the French Quarter is only 1.8 miles away.
You may stroll through the beautiful Garden District, experience some of the world's most amazing architecture on your way to the shops of Magazine St.. Truly a walkable neighborhood with unbeatable beauty.
Guests are encouraged to enjoy the garden courtyard as their own while stay with us. After spending the days sight-seeing, many people enjoy a quiet glass of wine in the courtyard or inviting friends over for low-key dining. A grill is available for use.
The host lives in the front unit of the property and is always available to provide as much guidance... or as much privacy... as the guest desires. Think of her as your 24 hour concierge!
The property in its entirety has three units. An owners unit, the sanctuary apartment, and a guest cottage.
A cat does live on the property. He's a social kitty but does not come in to the space unless invited by guests.
Additional Amenties include:
Two burner stove top
When you book, please provide me with your arrival details. Keys will be left in a lock box on the front door for you along with instructions for entry. I will give you the code to the lock box once the reservation is made. Although I prefer to meet and greet guests, it is not always convenient as I work throughout the week and weekend and guests' travel plans often change.

We absolutely loved this place. The location is perfect for exploring the Garden District. Ariana was very responsive and helpful. The place feels very secure. The bed was very comfortable. And there were all kinds of nice little amenities. Ironing board/iron, toiletries, hair dryer, snacks, beverages, coffee, even creamer. We can't wait to come back. The little courtyard area was really nice to have. Ten times better than a hotel any day!
We had a wonderful time staying with Ariana. We were there for Mardi Gras and couldn't have found a better location. Ariana was a great hostess and provided us with whatever we needed. There was plenty of room and the bed was comfortable. Ariana made us feel part of the family and we felt at home from the moment we arrived. We had a wonderful time at the pig roast that she invited us to and can't imagine wanting to stay any other place when visiting NOLA.
I just wished I had more time to stay in this sweet private apartment in New Orleans. My husband and I were here only one night and went to see the Civil War Photography exhibit at NOMA. (Outstanding!)
Ariana sent me perfect instructions to the place, where to park, and how to get the keys. She left me a nice handwritten note with flowers in the apartment. A lovely gesture!
I especially enjoyed the record player and LPs and played them all!
Everything is clean, the queen bed is comfortable, and the apartment was decorated for Mardi Gras. Nice basket of fruit, chips and candies, also beer and water in the fridge.
Just beware of the kitty sitting on the porch, he looks sweet but nipped at my hand instead! Yikes!
We had three people in our party and had a lovely experience at Ariana's place. It was very clean and comfortable with plenty of pillows and towels. The location is close to the streetcar, bus, and a nice walk to Magazine Street. Ariana was extremely welcoming and kind- leaving us snacks, local magazines, pleasant local music playing on the radio, and an offer for any New Orleans recommendations we needed. When we arrived back to the place at night, candles were lit in the courtyard and twinkle lights were lit on the eaves. The entire stay was easy from booking to leaving- I would highly recommend Ariana's place to any New Orleans visitors.
As far as I'm concerned, this is the way to go. Ariana's place is a classic New Orleans shotgun porched home with the trademark high ceilings and frieze detailing. She is warm, accessible and determined to make her guests' stay comfortable and pretty. Everything is spotlessly clean. It's quiet and just two tiny blocks away from St. Charles Street. Fabulous location. Thank you for making our stay so delightful, Ariana.
Ariana is a fantastic host, and her apartment is terrific! The location is two blocks from the St. Charles line, and an easy drive from the French Quarter, Magazine Street, and other fun New Orleans attractions. Felix the kitty visited us, which was a lovely treat, too--he's a gorgeous, friendly Maine coon-style kitty. The bed is super-comfortable, and Ariana stocked the shelves with some local treats for our arrival. The washer and dryer were a nice bonus, and we felt right at home in her sweet little neighborhood. Ariana was easily accessible, had great restaurant recommendations, and provided a cute little apartment that was such a nice alternative to a hotel. When you are looking at New Orleans accommodations, choose Ariana!
We had a lovely time staying in Ariana's beautiful place. It's a convenient area for getting around to many areas, with some tasty restaurants, bars and shopping within walking distance, and it's right on a major street car line. The place was adorable and stocked with snacks and beverages. Ariana is a great hostess, very friendly and communicative. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
What a lovely experience! The snack-basket was much appreciated (yum! pralines!) and the washing machine certainly came in handy. This was our first airbnb experience, and it certainly will influence us to do it again, either at Ariana's lovely place (she's a real sweetie), or elsewhere.
My fiancé and I travelled to New Orleans for a wedding and found this charming place to stay! Super close walk to the streetcar and about 5-10 min walk to an awesome coffe shop/restaurants. Ariana greeted us warmly the second we pulled up in our cab ($33 flat rate from the airport). Here guest areas are super secure and away from the street. The bed was very comfy and the blankets warm (it was chilly over the weekend, but she provided a mini heater for extra warmth.) One afternoon, we opened the door to the courtyard and napped to the peaceful sounds of the fountain outside our door. Ariana left local goodies/snacks and a couple beers/waters in the fridge. She was so thoughtful and really thought of everything to make our stay comfortable (she even circled events in the local event guide for the weekend we were staying!) This place was cute, clean, and gives you a real feel for a classic New Orleans home. I could not rave enough about our host and our stay!
