Enjoy a tuscan-inspired private room with french doors leading to a deck for breakfast with a view! Right in the heart of Louisville's Highlands neighborhood-walking distance to great restaurants, breweries, coffee, galleries, bakeries, etc. Within easy transportation to best attractions in the city. Come stay with us!
I have a 1920's bungalow on a shady street in a great historic neighborhood. It's a block from the Douglass Loop, a little triangular area where "back in the day" the old trolly cars used to turn around. It now holds a coffee shop, ice cream parlor, bakery, hardware store, pub and several restaurants. You won't have far to go to get whatever you need!
The room has french doors that open to the back deck of the house. There is a table for 4 and umbrella where you can enjoy a drink or coffee and listen to the birds. In the room there is a Kreuig for coffee tea anytime, and you'll have access to the kitchen/fridge. I provide a limited continental breakfast and there is a complimentary bottle of wine in the room!
**Whole house is available for rental at certain times of year (such as Derby). See my "other listings" for details.
The room is on the first floor (my bedrooms are upstairs). It is near the kitchen and you'll have access to a 1/2 bath off the kitchen (hairdryer provided). The full bath is at the top of the stairs and is shared.
I work during the day, so you'll have the house to yourself much of the time. I enjoy meeting new people and would love to visit in the evenings a bit, however. I'm happy to give recommendations for what to do while in Louisville and am always available via cell to answer any questions you might have during your stay.
The neighborhood is very eclectic with historic homes, art galleries, boutiques, and great local eateries. Streets are tree-lined and make for great walking to nearby attractions. Cherokee Park is nearby with hiking trails, pedestrian/bike lanes and shady picnic spots.
It's only 6 houses from a major bus line and centrally located for affordable cab fair. Interstate access is 5 min away.
Enjoy a complimentary bottle of wine (& chocolates) with your stay!
It's hard to overstate how pleased my girlfriend and I were after our short stay with Melissa. She is the most charming, amiable, and accommodating host we could have imagined for our first AirBnB experience.
Even though she was a bit under the weather during our few days in Louisville, she still made every effort to ensure we were oriented both in her home and in the city. In addition to being attentive, she was also super accessible, always replying promptly to calls and e-mails.
The room itself was very well kept and comfortable, perfectly situated near the kitchen, backyard, and half-bath. The house itself is so close to so many independent shops, restaurants, and cafes--we got almost everywhere on foot.
But really Melissa made our stay. It was such a pleasure getting to know her. We could not recommend her highly enough!
Melissa was a great host. We are frequent travelers and just needed a place for the night. She was quick to respond, and had the room ready an hour after we emailed her. The room was perfect, with a little deck outside our door which is perfect if you are a smoker (Jeff is). There was a bottle of wine in the room and a bowl of chocolates. Nice touch! Most importantly the bed was comfy... and the sheets! I don't know what they were made off, but it felt like the cotton of the gods. We definitely recommend Melissa's place!
Melissa was a wonderful host and all around person. I had a fantastic time at her home. The space is lovely and Melissa made me feel right at home. I would recommend her home to anyone. You will not go wrong.
As for the room, it was fantastic. The bed will make you NOT want to get up... ever! It was so comfortable.
Wonderful stay! Melissa's ants and craft bungalow is brimming with charm and artistry. Melissa's attention to detail to the traveler's needs is exceptional. Lastly, Melissa is a gracious host, who truly makes her guest feel at home.
Melissa not only has a gorgeous home, she is a wonderful person as well. She is a seasoned AirB&B host and has it down pat. You will feel very welcomed and comfortable in her home. The neighborhood is great and everything you need is right around the corner.
Melissa is a great host. Highly recommended. She also lives in a wonderful neighborhood with great shopping, restaurants, a fine independent movie theater, independent bookstore, good record stores. She really knows her way around and lives in a great neighborhood where you'll feel at home when you're away.
Melissa is a wonderfully kind and welcoming person. Her home reflects her open and generous nature. Beautifully decorated, furnished and comfortable, this house was such a pleasure to spend a few days in! We wouldn't think of staying anywhere else when visiting Louisville in the future.
Melissa was a fantastic host! She even offered to come and pick me and my boyfriend up when we arrived at the bus station and took us there at the end of the stay. Couldn't have asked for a nicer place or person. (She even had chocolates and wine on arrival!) The bedroom was spacious and and the bed was really comfortable. I would highly recommend staying in the highland area and with Melissa when you are visiting Louisville - it's perfect!
I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else! Soooo glad that Melissa shares her home, and grateful for her wonderful personality.
Melissa was very communicative and had a great space. We never met her, but she left all the info we needed and felt very comfortable in her space. Highly recommend!
