Very central flat. Definitely a plus !
3 SUBWAY ACCESS : République / Jacques Bonsergent / Goncourt
AREA : Canal Saint Martin - République.
Apartment located two steps away from the Canal Saint Martin and Place de la République. The canal Saint Martin is one of the most peaceful areas of Paris and a very romantic one. The canal is still navigated by numerous barges. The studio is also close to the Saint Louis Hospital, to the Republique and Oberkampf neighborhoods with their many restaurants, shops, art galleries and bars. All the shopping you need can be done within walking distance : bakeries, butcheries, supermarket, open air market, theater, restaurants, cafes, doctors, clothing, drugstores, laundromat, hospital...are all available nearby.
Velib station (public bicycles) where you can rent a bike to tour the city ideally located right at the foot of the building.
Our place is unique because it is central but peaceful, yet in a young and happening neighborhood of Paris ! Also, enjoying a bottle of French wine with loved ones just hanging by the canal St. Martin is priceless..

Everything was exactly as we expected in the studio. Carole was a great host, helpfull and always available to answer our questions. Totally recomended!
I love Carole's apartment! First of all, the room is exactly like the photo, or maybe even better. It's very neat and it had everything I needed during the stay. It is very peaceful at night. The location is also excellent. It is right infront of the canal so even at late night a lot of people are still hanging out near the canal so it doens't seem dangerous at all.
But what I really loved most about this place, was Carole :) She's a wonderful host! I was actually delayed on my arrival and my phone was dead so there was no way to contact her. I made her wait for more than 2 hours but when i actually arrived she greeted me and told me how worried she was, which was so sweet of her! She is very easy to talk to, she responded very quickly when I needed her, asking for advice on my trip. I actually bothered her quite some times :P But she was always very helpful giving me exact informations I needed.
I would definately stay at this apartment next time I visit Paris.
Thank you so much Carole :)
The apartment was very cute and had everything that we needed. Carole even went out of her way to provide us with a picnic basket and food containers, upon our request, and we had a very lovely parisian picnic. The location was excellent for travellers looking for something off the beaten path; it was close to the metro and had anything else you need (pharmacy, grocery store, bakery, etc) within a short walk, but was also in a non-tourist neighbourhood. Since it is an old apartment, the doors were tricky to open/close and I would be cautious about the stairs, as they were a bit slippery and the steps were very small, especially if you are carrying luggage. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at the apartment, and Carole was a very attentive and helpful host!
Carole recives us in the appartament and give us all the explanations we need to everything, the neighbour, the appartament, were to go and how to do it. We have a very friendly conversation, and she was so attentive for everything we need. she always answer our questions very quick.
We spend a very good time in Paris thanks to Carole and his outstandig appartament. It's so very good situated in a neighbour very calm (very good to sleep) but with a lot of services very near, restaurants, bakery, bars, hairdresser rock style!!!, shops, and a so beautiful walk throught the Canal St Martin.
The Republique Metro station is 5 minutes walking full of lines to go everywhere in Paris, but if you want you can go walking in 25 minutes to the door of Notre Dame.
I think this a great place to stay for one or two people. It's in an interesting and lively neighborhood yet the apartment itself is quiet and peaceful. It was really easy for me to get settled in quickly and feel at home.I found everything I needed close by - groceries, laundry, metro, velib bicycles. On Sunday there is a fantastic outdoor market only one block away. Carole is an excellent host, easy to contact and willing to go out of her way to help. I would certainly recommend her apartment to anyone.
I had a fantastic time in this studio. The apartment faces in towards the building, away from the street so you can open the windows at night. I usually grabbed to something to eat after I left the studio but having the refrigerator was nice for having something to drink in the morning or when I returned at the end of the day. There's also a Nespresso for making cappuccinos.
The neighborhood was great. When the weather is nice you can find people casually sitting by the canal eating and drinking. It's a nice way to meet new people. Du Pain et des Idees is a fantastic bakery and only a five minute walk from the studio. There is also the chocolatier Jacques Genin on 133 Rue de Turenne (20 minute walk) where you have amazing caramels, chocolates and eclairs. Paris also has fantastic drinking water and delicious fruits.
I hope when I return to Paris that this studio is available.
This studio is perfect for two people. Julien and Flore have been so helpful leading up to our stay, they were quick to respond with any concern and even ordered a cab to the airport for me since I do not speak any french.
The apartment looks bigger in person than in the pictures. Future guests will be pleased with that. The neighborhood is great with two markets within two blocks. The Goncourt Metro is a short distance away. Velib bikes are located right in front of the building.
My review is very positive: the location is central to the main metro hub i.e. Place de la Republ./ there are few markets around and of course the beaut.canal!
Flore was nice and very helpful on giving information and tips (directions/map).
I definately enjoyed my stay in the flat.
It was a really great stay. The money is definetly wortg it!!!
Will come back in june!
