The two bedrooms in the rear of the house have direct access to the garden and terrace areas. The two bedrooms in the front of the house open onto a balcony with spectacular views of Port-Vendres' hills and vineyards.
A creatively-stepped garden built into the side of the hill offers a peaceful setting in which to enjoy breakfast al fresco, or simply sip a glass of wine or take a siesta in a hammock as you survey the view from the heights of Port-Vendres.

The two bedrooms in the rear of the house have direct access to the garden and terrace areas. The two bedrooms in the front of the house open onto a balcony with spectacular views of Port-Vendres’ hills and vineyards, from which you can enjoy your breakfast.

Interaction with Guests

As owner of Maison Funambule, it is my pleasure to help guests with information about the area and its many activities. My mobile number will be available, so feel free to contact me for any reason. Please also check the website regularly for the various workshops, seminars or courses that will take place throughout the year (except during the high summer season in July and August).

The Neighborhood

Maison Funambule is far enough from the village to give you a feeling of peace and privacy, yet still only a short 10-minute walk to Port-Vendres’ charming harbor. The village boasts a range of excellent bars and restaurants where you can sample the local seafood and regional produce, wine shops that encourage you to try a degustation of superb regional wines, as well as supermarkets, a petrol station, a fish market and a tourist office.

Port-Vendres is a commercial harbour with large container ships bringing in fresh fruit and vegetables from Africa. Fisherman start the day before the sun comes up, so an early-morning stroll around the port and a swim in the crystal clear Mediterranean Sea, followed by a coffee and croissant in one of the cafes is a great way to start the day.

Getting around

By Gare SNCF (train):
“There is a small train station in Port-Vendres,10 minutes’ walk from Maison Funambule.
If you are coming from Spain, take the train to Port-Vendres via Cerbère Station, 4 km north of the Spanish border in France.
If you are coming from France, take the train from Perpignan to Port-Vendres.

By Gare Routiere (bus)
A local bus (which costs only 1 euro) travels between Cerbère and Perpignan, stopping in all the villages along the coast: Argeles sur Mer, Collioure, Port-Vendres, Banyuls and Cerbère.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • To visit Collioure I would always prefer to stay in Port Vendres. It is not so touristic, has a beautiful harbor and the bus connections are easy. Saskia picked me up at the station with a warm welcome. Her little B&B is new. It is very modern, aesthetic and tasteful furnished. It creates a good energy. The shared bathroom is always clean. Good mattress let you sleep well, it is calm. And every morning a tasty breakfast in the garden behind the house. Everywhere you can find nice little details and art work which makes the place so special. Saskia has always an open ear for your wishes. She is a wonderful host and let you feel well. I will definitely come back to meet her again. Thank you, Saskia, for this wonderful time. Anita
PS: I can recommend a day trip to Cadaques to see the S.Dali House-Museum in Portiligat.

Thank you so much for your extremely generous comment dear Anita. Thank you also for your kindness, your interest and your sharing. It was such a pleasure to have you around. I truly hope to see you next year ! All the best in Berlin and take lots care. Saskia

  • Saskia is a lovely host - she makes you feel at home in her place. Her place is a nicely decorated B&B with many artistic touches and comfortable and clean rooms. There is a very nice garden where you can enjoy the breakfasts that Saskia prepares every morning. fresh coffee, fresh croissants, fresh fruits and fresh bread. everything fresh!
The rooms can get a bit warm but the vantilators in the ceiling are enough to make it cool for the night and we've slept very comfortably all 3 nights.
All in all, I would be always be very happy to come back!
