*FAQs*

Q: Will I have a key? Can I come and go as I please?
A: Yes to both!

Q: I see I'm renting a "Private Room". How much privacy do I have?
A: Quite a lot. The room is on the top floor of the house with an en suite toilet/shower.

Q: How much will I see of you?
A: Hopefully as much or as little as you like! If you'd rather your privacy we completely understand. If you want to come downstairs for a chat, to use the kitchen, or to watch TV we would be delighted to see you, hear about your trip and to answer any questions you may have about the area. We both work full time, so are likely to be out in the day, but should be around first thing in the morning and most evenings.

Q: Do I have a private bathroom?
A: The room has an en suite with a toilet, basin and shower. Should you want use of a bath, you are welcome to use the shared bathroom on the floor downstairs.

Q: What's my total booking price?
A: We don't know! With fees included, Airbnb only shows the total amount payable to the person booking. This figure should be visible after you enter your dates to check availability.

Q: Can I cook/use the kitchen?
A: Of course! You're welcome to leave stuff in the fridge too.

Q: Is breakfast included? What kind of breakfast is it?
A: We usually lay out breakfast for our guests and you're welcome to help yourselves to this. Breakfast will usually be a mixture of what we've got in the house and what we're eating (typically a mixture of cereals, muselis, toast, etc). If you're staying with us at the weekend this might stretch to something cooked as well! If you have any specific dietary requirements please let us know.

We hope this helps to answer any questions you may have - should you think of anything else though please do ask.

Thanks!

  • I had a great experience staying with Emma and Martyn for 1 month while working at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. I would absolutely recommend staying with them for short or long term visits to the area.

I was traveling alone and felt very welcome and safe in their home. I also felt safe in their neighborhood (Kings Heath), even when walking by myself at night. The room was clean and quiet, and the breakfast was a delicious plus.

Emma and Martyn are wonderful people and were also helpful with suggestions of places to visit in and around Birmingham, and with how to best navigate the bus and train system. Their house is a 5 minute walk of many bus lines and a 20 minute bus ride to the city center.

  • A spacious, bright room. An excellent and hot shower. A good homely breakfast. Amazing mellow ground coffee. Pleasant and hospitable hosts. All this made for a good stay!

  • Emma and Martyn could not have been more helpful and accommodating during our stay with them. The house is really lovely and in a convenient spot for public transport. The bedroom and ensuite are immaculately clean, spacious and comfortable with everything you could need. The bed in particular was so comfortable we had trouble getting out of it in the morning!

Emma and Martyn really went above and beyond in making us feel welcome and were very relaxed and approachable, they left out a lovely breakfast for us every morning, helped us with transport advice and put up with us leaving and returning at odd times of the day and night! We were working long days exhibiting at the NEC and were so grateful to have such a lovely spot to crash out in. We would not hesitate to stay here again if we return to Birmingham and would wholeheartedly recommend this property to other weary travellers!

    Best wishes,

    Naomi and Ariane.

  • I had a really nice stay at Emma and Martyn. They made me feel at home from the beginning. The loft room was comfortable and clean. They always had breakfast ready in the morning and were really helpful with suggestions. They are perfect hosts. Their house is well located close to a nice park and a major shopping street. It is not difficult to get to the city centre from their house.
    I highly recommend their place...

  • Martyn and Emma were fantastic hosts. Quick and clear communication throughout. They were very accommodating of our arrival times and gave us clear instructions and directions. The house is ideally located just off Kings Heath high st so just a short bus journey into Birmingham centre. Their house is a georgeous Victorian semi with lots of character and two lovely kitties. The attic room we stayed in is huge (much larger than it looks on the pic) and the ensuite bathroom is also very spacious with fluffy towels included. Breakfast was poached duck eggs on toast with fresh coffee. The perfect Sunday morning pick-me-up. I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in Brum. Highly recommended!

  • Emma & Martyn have both been extremely wonderful and caring. I am glad I got to stay with them and know them. They have been extremely helpful and very supportive and took care of every little thing. Emma always had my breakfast ready every morning & asked me for Tea every time I walked in the house During afternoon or evening. Martyn, from check in to check out and till i reached my home city, made sure I was safe & sound. Spontaneous respond/ reply to any inquiry.

Perfect people to stay with.....always made me feel like Family.

I will surely want to stay with them again in the future and will recommend the same to my friends and people here at AIr bnb.
