Interaction with Guests
We are happy to meet and socialise with our guests if they wish to.
I love that our neighbourhood is quiet and residential. Here you would very much be living as Bermudians do, enjoying our tropical gardens, pool and entertainment areas. Everywhere you go on the island you will see amazing ocean views, lush green vegetation and cute white roofed houses.
We are close to major bus routes that run early to late and main roads for getting anywhere on the island easily.
Other Things to Note
We have 2 friendly well behaved dogs, an English Cocker spaniel and Labrador.
We can recommend a good scooter hire company if you wish and we have a safe place to park scooters.
We can recommend a taxi for airport pick up if you wish.
No Smoking inside house - ashtrays are provided outside.
The 2 dogs are very friendly but please don't let them inside.
Please turn off air conditioning and lights when you go out.
Please conserve water - we only have what we catch on our roofs when it rains.
Scooter parking alongside hedge near driveway.
Ask us if you need anything or have any questions about anything.
Mike and Sharon were very welcoming and friendly, as were the two dogs, who were no trouble.
A lovely little private cottage, well appointed and comfortable. It's separate from but in close proximity to the house of the hosts (with the pool in between).
The hosts were welcoming and helpful throughout and the stay was a pleasure.
They provide a useful and professional welcome pack which is gives you all the information you need.
Suitable for both holiday makers and business travellers looking for a quiet and peaceful alternative to overpriced hotels.
Location: A short walk to a large supermarket and bus routes to Hamilton. 20mins walk to the nearest ferry to Hamiliton (best option if you don't have transport and want to avoid a longer commute). Also in close proximity to some of the nice beech spots in this part of the island. Best option is to hire a bike or scooter to get around.
Many thanks for a great stay.
Lovely cottage and pool.
Great information pack provided by the hosts with lots of local recommendations.
It's in a nice residential area, short walk to the shops and centrally located to explore both ends of the island and relax on the nearby south shore beaches after.
Mike and Sharon and family were friendly but we had our privacy and hardly saw them.
The only thing I could say is the Wi-Fi signal is patchy unless outside by the pool, but that kept me away from work.
Sharon and Mike were amazing hosts! Their cottage was exactly how I expected it would be. It was a home away from home and we loved coming back every night and leave the door open to catch the Bermudian breezes. The kitchen is large and comes with anything you would need. We came a few days before Hurricane Gonzalo roared ashore and they were very helpful and informative of what to expect. They even offered an extra bedroom in the main house if we were worried. We stayed in the cottage until the calm eye went over the island and then they invited us and some neighbors on the porch to have some drinks and chat. It is a night I will never forget!
Sharon has an extremely helpful notebook that will answer any questions you have about the island. There is also a phone that you can use to call local businesses if you need to plan any excursions. The cottage is in a residential area but you can very easily get to Hamilton via the bus route which is right down the street. There is also a great grocery store a little further down. I would love to come back to Bermuda again and stay at that cottage and I hope to see them whenever they come to Boston!
We just returned after 5 nights at Mike and Sharon's fantastic Pool Cottage and cannot say enough good things about it! Perfectly sized for the two of us, delightfully quiet neighborhood, spotlessly clean and that pool! We took Sharon's recommendations for transport from the airport and back and rented a scooter from the vendor she recommended. Our days were spent scootering from beach to beach and really seeing everything we could on this beautiful island. The days were hot and sunny so it was a luxury to return home at the end of each afternoon to this quiet and tranquil oasis for some pool time and a glass of wine before showering and heading out for dinner at any one of Bermudas very good restaurants. Sharon was super accommodating and helpful. She even made it possible for us to store our bags, use the pool and freshen up in a bathroom in the main house after we checked-out but before needing to head to the airport. We hope to return again and again now that we've experienced our first visit.
Of note, if you absolutely need a constant wifi connection it is a little spotty at the Pool Cottage but fast and plentiful across the pool at the Main House and Sharon was happy for us to sit on her veranda when we needed to be online. Of course, we were on vacation so were happy to keep it to a minimum.
Here is a review of the experience I had staying at the Natalia Pool:
My husband and I really liked the accommodations. The cottage was clean and well kept and there was plenty of room for us. There is a full kitchen which had everything that we needed including pots and pans, glasses, etc. It was hot so we made good use of the pool and the air-conditioning.
As far as the location goes, the cottage is not really near anything and this was not convenient because we did not have a scooter. We had to rely on taxis which got expensive and the bus which did not prove to be reliable on our particular trip. There is a grocery store that is a 10 minute walk but it is not very safe. There are no sidewalks and the streets are very narrow. The south shore beaches are about a 20 minute walk but they weren't the greatest (in our opinion) to swim at and the walk was partially on roads and partially in the woods with some significant hills. Horseshoe Beach which is amazing was about a 30 minute walk or about a 12 dollar taxi ride.
We stayed at Natalia Pool Cottage for five nights on a trip to Bermuda to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary.
We were very pleased with our choice. The property was very nice and well-kept, the accommodations were perfect for two people, the price was right, and Sharon and Mike were great hosts (The cottage is on the other side of the pool from their home).
Soon after we arrived, Sharon sat down with us and gave us some good suggestions for what to see, what to do, where to eat, and how to get around. They were very accommodating when we needed help and advice (including giving us a lift to Hamilton for dinner one night), and also afforded us the privacy to enjoy our vacation.
Also, before we came to Bermuda, they helped us to arrange a taxi from the airport and back (and for the taxi to make a pit stop at a grocery store so we could pick up supplies for our stay).
One thing any visitor should know if they stay here is that the property is in a purely residential area. It's about a 15-20 minute walk to a beautiful South Shore beach, but it's not really walking distance to anywhere else in Bermuda worth visiting.
That said, transportation is easy to find. We originally planned to rent scooters, as many people do, but we found the public transportation system very quick, efficient, affordable, and easy to use.
There are two bus stops about a five-minute walk down the hill from Mike and Sharon's. The pink stop is for the bus to Hamilton (about 25 minutes away by bus) and the blue stop is for the bus to the Royal Navy Dockyard (about 45 minutes away, although if you time it right with the bus / ferry schedules, it's faster to take a bus to Hamilton, then a ten-minute ferry to the Dockyard). You can get anywhere in Bermuda by bus and / or ferry by transferring in Hamilton. Print up the bus and ferry schedules before you leave home and buy tickets or passes at the Hamilton bus or ferry terminal. Taxis are another, much pricier, option, but in five days, we only felt the need to take a taxi twice (excluding the trips to and from the airport).
All in all, we would recommend Natalia Pool Cottage as a great place to stay when visiting Bermuda.

Michael says: From Bermuda - diving, fishing, photogaphy, relaxing, eating, wine, socialising etc... all things we like to do ...!!
Sharon says: We live next to the three apartments that we rent out and really enjoy meeting our guests and helping them navigate our Island. We have been renting to visitors for over 12 years but we love Airbnb now!
We have 2 cute well socialized dogs, 2 older boys and a lovely tropical garden, a parrot and a pool.
There is so much to do in Bermuda especially for a country with only 60,000 inhabitants. Where ever you go you will meet interesting and friendly people from all walks of life. They are all keen to help you have a lovely vacation.
We have a great bus and ferry transport system to get around, there is the alternative of scooter hire for those who would like the freedom of a bike, as well as trails for walking and running. The beaches are within walking distance and are amazing!
We both enjoy sharing our island home with our guests and are on hand if you need anything.
