About this listing
Lovely spacious, light room in family home in quiet and peaceful countryside nr Killarney, Co Kerry. Double bed with room for an extra single bed if needed (supplement charged). Perfect location for exploring the Ring of Kerry. Sole use of bathroom.
Our family house is a mix of a modern build on to a turn of the century cottage sitting on just over an acre of land with a stream running at the bottom. The guest bedroom is upstairs and so not suitable for anyone using a wheelchair. There is a double bed in the room and space to put an additional single bed if needed. Hairdryer provided. The house is approximately 10 miles from either Killarney or Tralee and 20 minutes from 3 or 4 stunningly beautiful beaches including the famous Inch Strand. You will definitely need your own transport as there is so much to see and do. It's difficult to choose between Forest, mountains, beaches, Great Lakes or the choice of shops and restaurants. A perfect location for the ring of kerry or any other touring holiday.
Guests have sole use of a bathroom with Shower, loo and 2 handbasins, no bath. Bathroom is not ensuite. Guests can have breakfast at an additional charge - wheatfree and gluten free options available - and by prior arrangment. Guests are welcome to explore the garden and use the seated decking area. Breakfast (if booked), will be served in the family dining room or ouside (weather permiting). We are not a commercial business but a family who would like to see the spare bedroom used, enjoy meeting new people and like to share all that Kerry has to offer.
Interaction with Guests
Our interaction with guests can be as much or as little as desired! We are more than happy to offer advice and directions to local amenities, beauty spots and restaurants and always enjoy meeting new people. However we are very boundaried and respectful of our guests space and privacy. Guests must tolerate dogs and cats as we have both.
Our house is in the countryside but we do have other houses and farms around us. There are several circular road walks from the house or we are a short drive from an abudance of different walks, climbs, water activities, the towns of Killarney and Tralee. So we have the advantage of the quiet and tranquility of the countryside but are close by to a huge choice of activities.
We are approx 20 mins from Kerry airport and the same from Killarney or Tralee, both of which have Bus and train stations. There is room to park outside our house. Taxis are available from all these places but your own transport is essential.
Other Things to Note
Children are welcome and we can put an extra single 'fold down' bed into the double room. However they must be supervised at all times and be relaxed with dogs and cats. Nb We do not have a cot or stairgates etc. There may be an additional charge for children depending on their age.
We have a strict no smoking policy and since we have dogs and cats, no pets. Breakfast usually consists of coffee, tea, juices, porridge, fruit, breads/toast, cereals and eggs. An extra charge of 8-10 euro per head will be made for breakfast. A selection of teas is available all day for no extra charge. If you have any particular food requests they must be arranged in advance with us - wheat and gluten free options available. Please note that we generally go to bed and lock up for the night by 11.30/12 pm and so if you are planning to be out later than this, you must arrange this with us or you will not be able to get in to the house.
Hands down the best shower we've had so far in this country! The room was lovely and clean, the bed was so comfortable, Rebecca and her husband were lovely hosts and we felt so welcome in their home. Because their house is not in a town Rebecca has provided clear directions which we were able to follow easily. Breakfast was fantastic and kept us going well into the day. We would definitely recommend this cottage for a rural, country experience.
Le thé en Accueil est très agréable , les hôtes très sympathique , la chambre et la salle de bain parfaites.
Rebecca was very, very helpfull by navigating us. When we arrived, she wellcomed us very nice and offered us Cofé and Tea. As we asked for a bike, her husband gave us his one. The room was nice and clean, so was the badroom.
Rebecca and her husband are friendly and nice people. We were greeted with a warm pot of tea and after a nice conversation we were shown our room for the night. The room was tidy and really cozy, with a cool country style. I highly recommend this place as I would definitely come back again.
