My boyfriend and I just returned from a long, snowy weekend at Jill's house - and we're ready to book again. The house pairs spacious accommodations (for a couple), cozy atmosphere, and fantastic views. There were nearly two feet of snow on the ground, so we didn't get to experience the trails, but were happy to enjoy the Netflix and book collection. Thanks to Jill, and her assistant Sara Beth, for a memorable holiday weekend. We hope to visit again when we can enjoy the outdoor space.
This was a very nice cabin getaway. Beautiful views. The manager of the house was very friendly and efficient. Everything was clean and nice. I would recommend this house to anyone, although I would note that the road to the house is very steep, and in the winter, if there is any snow, 4 wheel drive is probably necessary.
While we didn't have any, they provided some extra food in the refrigerator, which was a nice touch.
The well water had a slight mineral taste which didn't bother me-- but they provided some bottled water anyway.
Also, they have a TV with Netflix built in so that was nice.
Fun cabin. Nice hosts.
My friends and I all agreed that we spent the best New Year's in a long time in this unique and beautiful cabin. The place was fully stocked (they seemed to think of everything) and had amazing views, and in the end we didn't want to leave. The checking in and out process was smooth. We took a challenging hike nearby, and enjoyed the solace of the woods. MOST recommended.
The house was fantastic and the views were stunning! Jill was very helpful and the experience exceeded our expectations. Would absolutely go back!
What isn’t to love about this cozy & artful mountain cabin? My family of four convened for the holidays in this cabin and we couldn’t have been happier. Jill was super accommodating, quick to respond and kind. We loved the fireplace, the views … my dad was super pleased about the guitar-in-residence too ☺ We brought some groceries and even made ourselves a lovely Christmas dinner. On Christmas Eve we attended a performance at the Blackfriar's Theater (totally recommend as well!) Our parting thoughts with the cabin: when can we return? I couldn’t recommend this place more!
We loved our stay here! I booked the house, hoping to enjoy nearby hiking trails, but it ended up raining all weekend. We were a little disappointed we couldn't enjoy the outdoors, but I was glad we had booked such a cozy house with lots to do inside! We read books, did a puzzle, watched a couple movies on Netflix, and laid on the comfortable couch next to the fireplace. Not to mention enjoying the amazing views from the floor to ceiling windows around the property. It was a dream relaxing getaway and the hosts were super accommodating! We accidentally left behind some expensive headphones, and they contacted us right away and mailed them to us. We are recommending to our friends as the perfect weekend getaway from DC.
The mountain house was very unique, clean, and cozy. Jill is organized and easy to communicate with. I highly recommend staying at this house and Jill and her staff were wonderful hosts. We plan to go again!
Brilliant place with a great aura. Highly recommend this house. Jill made sure i felt welcome and that I has a lovely stay. Will be back!
Our stay at the glass octagon was fantastic! Jill was a very communicative, thoughtful, and gracious host—she even left a dog bone for our pup Wolfie! The place was great, quite secluded in the crisp mountain air. The house had everything we could ask for. Would highly recommend staying if you are so inclined by the description.
The house was perfect for 3 girls who needed to escape the district. Jill was amazing and made our lives so simple, she made sure we had OJ and breakfast things for the next morning. The morning sunrise over the deck was perfection when holding a nice cup of coffee. We used the fire pit nightly and also had a great time grilling on the bbq. It was exactly what we needed.
