I spent one night at Anton's house as i was attending the Art Hamptons fair.
I only have good things to say.
there is a warm feeling about the house and the hosts.
the room with its private bathroom was cozy and clean with a nice view on the harbor.I would come back
Greeted us warmly. Engaged us in conversation. Helpful suggestions. Open, easy environment.
Anton was most accommodating, especially as we arrived late in the evening. He provided directions to the room in case he wasn't there. The room itself is well kept, with a lovely bathroom and comfy bed. Breakfast was generous and delicious and the overall environment of the house is very special. Clearly an artist's home, full of beautiful furniture pieces Anton has made, and blessed with warmth, flowers, good company and history. A perfect retreat.
It's not easy to find an atmospheric, yet affordable accommodation on the east end of Long Island. We loved Anton's place as much as its hosts and the village of Sag Harbor. The moment you enter this cosy house you feel at home. The gardens are a delight, the location is perfect, the house is full of stories and of history, and your hosts are as welcoming as you could possibly imagine. We still dream of our breakfast with a view on the bay. We still regret not to have stayed on for a day or two.
We had a wonderful stay in the charming town of Sag Harbor with our gracious hosts. The room was as described (comfy bed, bright bathroom) and quite possibly even better! We would highly recommend for the beautiful views, charming details and great hospitality of our hosts.
Had a wonderful time. Only one night but they made us feel so welcome, and the local knowledge of the area made a short trip efficient as we hit the key spots! The flowers and decor are so homey and beautiful. Wish we could have stayed longer. Also had a blast looking at the beautiful homes on the 36' boat tour. Great place would highly recommend!
My wife and I are younger, early 30s, and we've always veered away from staying at "bed and breakfasts" vs renting our own property. However, this time, based on the location on the water and Main St., we decided to give it a try. It was undoubtedly a brilliant decision to stay at Anton's. This is the type of place that makes travelling special - incredible location and views, eclectic and nostalgic design, engaging yet respectful company, and warm, interesting people. These are the environments that are becoming so rare to find and have the ability to make even two days seem like a fulfilling vacation. Despite having several other options for accommodations out East, we'll absolutely be returning to Anton's again this summer.
