This was our last stop in Costa Rica, and we are thrilled that we got the opportunity to stay here. Our stay had absolutely everything we could need to feel absolutely relaxed-- from included breakfast, an incredible view, a wonderful room, and a great location. The staff was extremely helpful, giving recommendations and helping us make dinner reservations that ended up being some of the most wonderful experiences we could have imagined. The location is wonderful, with just a short ride to Manuel Antonio National Park. The onsite restaurant is delicious, as was breakfast, and everything else was within walking distance. Our stay here went above and beyond our expectations, and we look forward to coming back in the future!
My friend and I just got back from the most wonderful week in Costa Rica, 4 days of which were spent at Villas Nicolas and the surrounding area.
We cannot sing the praises of Villas Nicolas enough! The location is perfect - outside of Quepos on the way to Manuel Antonio, and walking distance from some of the top rated restaurants, cafes, and boutiques in the area. The staff is super helpful and friendly - never tried to sell us on anything but definitely had the best recommendations and connections for local activities. The onsite restaurant and bar is really great, too - they always had guests from other neighboring hotels because the food is so good (breakfast is included, ftw!).
In terms of accommodations, the photos speak for themselves. The rooms are very private and relaxing, with beautiful views of the ocean and rainforest. You control the AC, the verandas are perfect for enjoying a bottle of wine from the market 3 min down the road, and the pool area is the picture of a tropical vacation.
We will definitely be back.
Pro tips: no Spanish needed, no car needed (you can walk, activities provide shuttles, and there are taxis or a super cheap public bus for getting to MA or into Quepos), bug spray and sunscreen imperative.
We loved our 4-night stay at the fabulous Villas Nicolas. On arrival we were buzzed through the entrance gate by the concierge. As we entered our villa, our grins got bigger and bigger as we realized that what we received far exceeded our expectations. We were thrilled by the quality of the furnishing, the beautiful porch with its view of the ocean and forest canopy teaming with monkeys, tucans, and nearby hummingbirds. The pool was a treat, the included breakfast was charming and filling, the location was convenient to both the park and the nearby restaurants and beaches, and the room with its kitchen and separate lounging area were super comfortable. This was a 30th anniversary trip and we loved every minute there.
Ill start with how pleased we were with the room. The porch was huge, with lots of seating and a hammock. The room was cute and clean. The couch/seating area was perfect for lounging and you can see the ocean and rainforest from the bed or couch indoors due to the open floorplan. The kitchen was also clean with bar seating that I would actually have cooked in if I were that type of girl. We stored lots of carryout and leftovers in the fridge. We bought some mangos from a farmers market In Quepos that you should visit early on in your trip.
We ate the complimentary Tico Breakfast almost every morning which tells you how good it is. The staff spoke English and they were SO polite and helpful everyday. We enjoyed our stay and would totally come back again and again.

This unit FAR exceeded our expectations. It is fantastic!! Each morning we watched monkeys, toucans, humming birds, blue morph butterflies, etc. float just past our balcony while we sipped coffee! Full hot breakfast included (which we had not known). The place is GORGEOUS -- a cobalt blue swimming pool with small waterfall - a wonderful restaurant (the best in town!) for dinner, the whole small resort is right in the midst of a beautiful tropical garden and it is within walking distance to many wonderful restaurants, small shops, grocery, sunset bars etc. It is also near several small beaches which you can hike to - or take a bus. It is, of course, near Manuel Antonio park as well. We did take a guided tour of the park but truthfully, you can see nearly all the wildlife that is in the park right from your own balcony!! The staff is friendly and helpful. The place is small, very quiet and clean. It really couldn't be better. We will definitely be back! We stayed in Unit #7 upstairs. Six stars!!!
Ugh. OK lets start at the begining. We loved the photos, loved the price, loved the location. Booking was very easy. Sheryl and Alexandra were very helpful, responded quickly, and made sure everything just ran smoothly in general. When we arrived we were blown away! SO great!! We felt safe parking our rental out front with the cameras and guard on watch. Check in was easy and quick and the staff was very nice! The property itself is just lovely. Lush plants, clean and beautiful pool (hidden hot tub even!). The entrance to the condo felt private and safe. The pictures as great as they are, just dont do it justice. It was so beautiful. The view was awesome! Balcony has everything from tables and desk to large hammock. The condo we stayed in had a great sitting area, kicthen was beautiful, stocked with everything you could want (knives, pots pans, blender ect). The bed was very comfy and ac worked like a charm. We ended up just using the fans mostly which kept the place very cool to come back to. Bathroom was clean great set up. The shower does get a little slippery, but just use caution and youre fine. Also provided was a guest info book on the coffee table. This had everything you needed to know. Places to eat, shop, and take tours. This place also has a pool side restaurant which serves a free breakfast (tipping the servers of course) everymorning and a very good dinner each night.
The area was just what we were looking for. We decided to go to the Nauyaca Waterfall. We would say this was our fav waterfall we saw on our trip. We hiked to it on foot, and would have probably been happier on horseback which is offered at the turn off. We also went to the beach the book suggested where parking was monitored, and felt safe. Very few people and great beaches. Our last day we spent inside the Manuel Antonio Nation Park, which is a short drive from the condo. The beach there was just stunning. Easy hike on foot and spotted several monkeys along the way! We were very sad to leave and are already planning our next trip back. Thank you so much to everyone there who answered our millions of questions, and made the trip very easy and enjoyable!
We picked up the keys on site. There's an office at the property if you need anything (towels, bottled water). Easy to check in and out.
