1407 Main St Dallas TX 75201

Where to eat?

In The Wilson building:

There are 3 restaurants on the first floor.
Pho Colonial is mostly open for lunch and early dinner. Porta de Roma & Press Box Bar & Grill offer lunch, dinner and bar.
Ask for Jesse at Press Box; he'll take care of you and knows all about the unique beers.

Within one block of the Wilson on Main Street:

CBD Provisions (personal favorite and unique Texas cuisine, right across the street in the Joule Hotel)
1530 Main St., Dallas TX 75201

Dallas Chop House
1717 Main St., Dallas TX 75201
(Main & St. Paul)
Steak, Seafood. A high-end steakhouse in Dallas, the Dallas Chop House is known for deftly prepared seafood and dry & wet aged beef. The menu features appetizing starters like oysters and carpaccio, as well as robust salads and mouthwatering entrees like bone in “cowboy” rib eye, lamb chops, Asian BBQ salmon, and cold water Australian lobster tail.

Dallas Chop House Burger (Best burgers in Dallas!)
1501 Main St. Dallas TX 75201
(Main & Akard)
Strongly recommend the Wine Country burger and Italian Nut Job Shake (made with Nutella!)

Wild Salsa (great Margaritas!)
1800 Main St. Dallas TX 75201
(Main & St. Paul)
Recommend the Wild Margarita. Excellent Interior Mexico style food.

Dallas Fish Market
1501 Main St., Dallas TX 75201
Seafood, Steak. The Dallas Fish Market is an upscale seafood and steak restaurant that flies in fresh seafood from all over the world daily, based on market availability. The Dallas Fish Market features preparations of their fresh seafood and fine steaks as continental as the origins of the ingredients, take for example the piri piri dusted Pacific big eye tuna, with Medjool date tabouli, roasted pepper muhamara, pomegranate molasses and crispy carrots.

Iron Cactus - Dallas
1520 Main St., Dallas TX 75201
Mexican, Southwestern. Iron Cactus Dallas is a breathtaking, 14,000 square foot restaurant that belies its stunning style with a completely casual attitude. Aromas of Mexican and southwestern cuisine entice patrons to sample all that the menu has to offer, while the signature cocktails encourage a visit to the rooftop patio for sipping, schmoozing and appreciating fabulous downtown views.

The French Room
The Adolphus Hotel, 1321 Commerce St., Dallas TX 75202
French. The French Room, located in the posh Adolphus Hotel of Dallas, has won just about every award a restaurant can win. With traditional French preparations of seasonal, local ingredients, and a rococo setting that draws comparisons to French royal dining rooms, The French Room continues to wow Dallas food critics and restaurant goers.

Downtown Arts District:

Stephan Pyles (Personal Favorite)
Next to the Dallas Museum of Art
1807 Ross Ave. Suite 112, Dallas TX 75201
Southwest, Latin / Spanish. Stephan Pyles is the namesake of chef Stephan Pyles, who with this ultra high-end restaurant - located in the heart of the Dallas Arts district - has created what he terms "new millennium southwest" cuisine. Drawing on numerous continental influences to emphasize organic southwestern ingredients, the food at Stephan Pyles is as much a work of art as the rotating pieces by local Dallas artists that adorn the walls.

The Butcher Shop Steakhouse
808 Munger Ave., Dallas TX 75202
Steakhouse. From the moment one enters The Butcher Shop Steakhouse of Dallas, it’s evident what this popular restaurant is all about. Dallas restaurant goers choose first-hand the finest cuts of USDA prime beef and the freshest seafood from the restaurant’s front room butcher's display case. The Butcher Shop Steakhouse offers high-end steakhouse quality with an emphasis on more reasonable prices.

Dakota's Steakhouse
600 N. Akard St., Dallas TX 75201
Steakhouse. This iconic and highly rated downtown Dallas restaurant is located a full story below ground. As the story goes, Dakota's Steakhouse had to be "lowered," as the street level of the property it occupies was formerly a Baptist Church and the terms of the deed forbade alcohol sales on the grounds. So Dakota's Steakhouse of Dallas went below ground, taking advantage of its unique surroundings with a sculpted waterfall and literally tons of Dakota marble.

Pyramid Restaurant and Bar
1717 Akard Street, Dallas TX 75201
Contemporary American. With an enviable address in the heart of Dallas’ Arts District, Pyramid Restaurant & Bar is a contemporary restaurant that doubles as a super sleek nightspot. The contemporary American cuisine is as imaginative as the setting, whether patrons are stopping in for cocktails and appetizers with clients, pre-theater dinners, or even post-performance deserts and coffee.

Jorge's Tex Mex Café
1722 Routh St., #122, Dallas TX 75219
Mexican. 50 years of Mexican and Texas family traditions come together in every recipe at Jorge’s Tex Mex Café in Dallas. This casual yet contemporary dining spot features fresh, made-to-order Tex Mex cuisine, including one-of-a-kind queso, chile rellenos grilled in egg whites, hand made tamales, individually grilled crispy tacos and more. It would be a tragedy to visit Jorge’s Tex Mex Café without indulging in the signature margaritas and deserts like the tres leches and creamy flan.

Inside the Reunion Tower (the big iconic light up ball):

Five Sixty by Wolfgang Puck (inside the ball and the restaurant rotates!)
300 Reunion Blvd., Dallas TX 75207
American, Asian, Sushi. Set atop the 50-story landmark Reunion Tower, Five Sixty by Wolfgang Puck is one of the most distinguished fine dining restaurants in Dallas. Floor-to-ceiling windows afford stunning city views as patrons sup on well-crafted Asian fusion cuisine and imaginative sushi creations. This restaurant also features two stylish bars; an ultra-contemporary glass bar that looks on the exhibition kitchen, and a rotating bar that lets patrons look out onto the dining room and city skyline.

  • Sarah has a great spot - clean, comfortable, and right in the middle of downtown. And when I accidentally left my keys in the apartment, she personally returned them to me in Seattle the same day! (Ok, maybe I was just lucky she just happened to be flying to Seattle that day.) Highly recommended!

  • Both Sarah and her loft are absolutely beautiful! This is the cleanest, most equipped AirBnB I've experienced. I loved pretending like the beautiful space belonged to me. It was an easy walk to the Convention Center, and there's a CVS a block away for any last minute purchases. I highly recommend staying here!

  • I was in Dallas for a business trip and needed a place to stay for one night. Sarah was so sweet because we came in late that night and she put out an extra twin sized bed AND waited until we arrived (around 11 pm) when she still needed to drive out to Austin. (Thank you again, Sarah!!) She's super easy to talk to and to coordinate with and mentioned how she'd be available if we needed anything. Super sweet Southern Hospitality, forsure!

Her place is located right in downtown, very accessible to everywhere we needed to go. It's decorated so nicely and has a beautiful view of downtown. She left towels, shampoo, conditioner, and everything else you could imagine for us in the bathroom, like hair ties, tooth paste, shaving cream, even nice bath robes, etc...I was so impressed with what she provided and was very thankful!!

The only thing that was a little bit of a hassle was parking in the apartment structure. It's a pretty old and historic building so the parking is really tight but totally doable and not a big issue. Overall, I totally enjoyed my stay and kept finding myself commenting on how cute her place was and definitely will come back to stay when I have the chance!!

  • Sarah was fantastic and her apartment is perfect, great location, spotlessly clean and very secure building. Sarah has a. Great list of local resturants and she answered any questions we had. I would definitely stay at Sarah"s again. I recently travelled throughout Europe with AirBnB and this apartment is in the top 2 places l have stayed thanks jeremy
Sarah's communication was great and she met us at the apartment and showed us the unit workings

  • Sarah and her very cute loft in the heart of Downtown Dallas made my first AirBnB experience and trip to Dallas perfect. The loft is stocked with many amenities from toiletries to food. And the natural light and view from the loft was great. The bed was very comfortable and cable tv was provided. Many food options and bars located all around The Wilson. Parking was a little tight in the parking structure, so I opted to use Uber and that worked out perfectly. Sarah was quick to respond to my questions and check out went smoothly. I would recommend Sarah and her loft to anyone interested in staying in downtown Dallas.

  • Sarah's loft is stunning! Such a beautiful and well appointed place. She provides everything imaginable to her guests. From a stocked pantry to every bathroom need, she supplied it all. Sarah was delightful and easy to work with...even gave me excellent dinner guidance. I will stay there again the next time I am in Dallas!

  • Sarah's apartment is great, modern and very well located in a nice building. I will definitely recommend this place without a doubt.

  • Sarah's loft is right smack in the center of downtown Dallas walking distance to plenty of bars, restaurants, and activities. The loft has big floor to ceiling windows wood floor exposed beams. Sarah is sweet and hospitable and the loft has everything you need for a memorable stay - at a great price!

    February 2014
  • Sarah's apartment is in the dead-center of Dallas - a perfect location for our trip. The space itself feels like a midcentury loft, with high windows and ceilings, and nice hardwood. The amenities are very nice - garage space, full kitchen, great shower, etc.

Sarah was an extremely responsive host, replying immediately to any request. We were having trouble with the garage... at 2AM, and she answered my call right away. We really appreciated that, in particular, especially since I felt bad calling so late.

I highly recommend staying at Sarah's place if you are visiting Dallas or the surrounding area.

  • Sarah was an amazing host! She made sure I was all set up, gave me great advice on places to eat and see, and she was always available if I had questions. Everything was even nicer than in the pics, which is rare. Very clean, great taste in furnishings, and SUCH a charming building. She even had water and beer in the fridge! I would definitely stay here again when I'm in Dallas and recommend it to anyone. Sarah will take good care of you!
