The studio guesthouse is a peaceful retreat located behind our 1940's adobe home in the historic Blenman-Elm neighborhood. We are only 1 mile from University of Arizona, Banner-University Medical Center and the Arizona Inn.

The guesthouse is clean, quiet and fully stocked with all the essentials. Relax and watch the birds in the courtyard with native Sonoran desert landscaping, a beehive fireplace and covered patios.

The space
The 500 square-foot guesthouse is a single airy high-ceilinged room with a sitting area, dining area, full kitchen, and a comfy new queen bed in the corner. A sofa folds out into a second queen bed.

The kitchen has a full set of dishes, cookware, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. We provide pastry and organic fruit for a light breakfast, plus teas and snacks. And since we're originally from Seattle, we are coffee snobs and there will be fresh-roasted fresh-ground coffee for you.

The living area has a piano and a 40" HD TV with Netflix and limited local channels. There are books, movies, cards, puzzles, and board games too.

The bathroom is separated from the main living area with a pocket door and stocked with fluffy towels and earth-friendly bath products.

The courtyard has a beehive fireplace and dining table-- a wonderful place to enjoy cool desert evenings. Out back there are covered porches, a vegetable garden and desert tortoises (out in the warmer months only). Bob is a gardener and would be happy to tell you about the native Sonoran desert plants which attract butterflies and hummingbirds. Feel free to harvest from the vegetable garden and lemon tree.

Throughout 2022, we will hold a 48 hour vacancy period between each reservation to allow a thorough airing out and cleaning.

Green living:
- The entire property is 100% powered by solar energy.
- Make arrangements to share our Level 2 EV charger. We ask that you reimburse electricity costs using the honor system.
- Contribute your food scraps to our garden composter.
- Rain barrels collect water for the garden.

I have lived in Tucson on-and-off since 2001, and am completely in love with the unique nature and wildlife of the Sonoran Desert! My favorite thing to do is look for birds, and I volunteer for the Tucson Audubon Society. My husband, daughter and I live in the main house on the property, and are available to help answer questions and plan your visit to Tucson! I started hosting on airbnb in 2016, and I love meeting people from all over the world, from different backgrounds, and from all walks of life, who are drawn to Tucson for so many different reasons. I hope to meet you soon!
