Built in 1915 during the Golden Age of Greenwood Lake by Rudolph Gudewill, Greenwood Lake's only castle and guest house is filled with local lore and a legendary past. From the Gudewills it was sold to the Tiedemanns, but the property's fame came when NY Yankee Derek Jeter purchased the castle compound in 2003. The torch has passed once again and now for the first time in history the lakefront castle guest house is available for short term rental. STR Permit # P25-0524

The space
Commanding vistas across 9-mile Greenwood Lake are the focal point of the property, while architectural details and design take guests back in time to when grand European style hotels dotted the lake, steamships ferried travelers and celebrities like Babe Ruth could be found fishing from the docks of the east arm and Greta Garbo sipping cocktails from the nearby Continental Hotel.

Reminiscent of the Gatsby era, guests of the Tiedemann Castle Guest House can enjoy the privacy of a gated compound, direct lake front access with a dedicated dock, lush landscaping and the opportunity to experience all the area has to offer with concierge services offered through Upstate Luxe.
