About this listing
Visiting for the week-end for a Notre Dame football week-end, a conference, reunion, or to visit your son/daughter at ND? You will find this furnished room suits your needs with a queen bed. Bathroom is shared. We love hosting - welcome to our cozy and clean home.
During off-season week-ends, feel free to ask for a reduced rate.
The room has one queen bed and an optional cot if needed.
High speed WiFi in the whole house - access info provided upon arrival.
You have access to the shared bathroom (shared with the Orange Room guests across the hall).
Kitchen for coffee/tea and storage in fridge, use of microwave and toaster (please clean up after yourself).
Living room for conversation (please ask about using TV).
Longer term tenants have access to the kitchen for cooking and to the laundry area.
Interaction with Guests
I would prefer to coordinate a time to "meet and greet" in person and go over the house layout and rules, and to answer any questions you may have. But I understand that with flight times, this is not always possible. You can check out on your own by leaving the key in the lock box. Please feel free to contact me at any time by phone or text for questions, concerns, or problems in the house that require immediate attention.
Quiet, residential neighborhood, lovely to walk or run around the lake area. It is also conveniently located just east of Notre Dame and a plaza with Martin's grocery, Starbucks, fast food, and just west of the mall and the main shopping/restaurant areas of Grape Rd and Main St.
On the bus route. Parking on the street or cul-de-sac nearby. Taxis from the SBN airport charge $10 to $30 depending on week-end rates and number of riders/luggage. With previous arrangements & for a fee, I can also do pick ups and drop offs around town.
Other Things to Note
Water pressure is low in the home (it is an old house on well water, not city), so I recommend using only one water source at a time (ie - make sure the toilet tank is filled up before running a shower).
No smokers, no binge drinking - I reserve the right to refuse entry to intoxicated guests.
Only registered guests allowed in the home. No parties.
Please remove your shoes as you enter.
Be respectful of the other occupants in the home by keeping noise to a minimum, and cleaning up after yourself.
Please keep doors and windows secure at all times.
Please use utilities responsibly and keep a reasonable temperature in the house.
Park on the street (not in driveway - blocks the garage), and beware to not block mailboxes or driveways.
From Sep 1 - Nov 30, 2016 the minimum stay is 2 nights.
I teach Spanish at Notre Dame (I also speak fluent French), and enjoy discovering new cultures and new people. It is my pleasure to host and create a cozy and welcoming environment in this home.
I have been hosting international students in my home off and on for 5 years now. With a growing family, we recently moved to a bigger home near this house that we now rent out.
I turned to AirBnB in 2013 to rent rooms out during Notre Dame football games and graduation weekend, as well as longer term graduate student on research grants and visiting professors, and have been very pleased with the experience and people I've met through hosting.
I would appreciate you sending me a message first, before sending an official reservation request - I would hate for it to expire or have to turn you down if I don't have enough information from you (especially if this is your first BnB experience and you have no feedback yet).
If it's not a Notre Dame football week-end, discounts are available, so it is best to establish a conversation first :)
I am open to longer-term guests, pending we come to an agreement on some modified terms and a rental agreement.
