Welcome to Daehan Artvillage.
Our building is comprised of five houses and are whole big family.
It was a really nice to be. Haedong and his uncle helped me so much and answer all mails very fast. The uncle speaks very good english, too. I recommend the place to everyone. And the location is very near to the city center, so you can fastly take the subway at Achasan station (only 3 minutes walking time from Haedongs home). So Haedong get 5 stars. Hope to meet you soon here in Seoul during my study time.
I spent a wonderful time at Headong place and Seoul. I was there for 4 days during the Spring festival, Chinese new year, during which Headong and his family welcomed me very warmly.
Headong gave me also good advice about places to visit in the city. He was also nice to discuss with him about our experiences.
The room is very quiet and well furnished, the subway station 5min away allows to travel easily in the city.
So in one word as in many, it was an interesting and joyful experience I recommand to everyone!
I didn't managed to catch Headong for the first few days, however, i did meet his uncle who was very nice. He picked us up from the subway and walked us to the place. It was really nice to have someone to bring you instead of having to figure it out through gps. The neighbourhood is pretty good with convenience stall and some food outlets nearby. It is pretty safe to walk in the night too. Definitely will get this again if i ever were to return to Seoul for any holiday. That electric warmer blanket is definitely a plus point during the cold season.
Haedong and Haedong's uncle are really very welcoming, friendly and nice! Haedong is very responsive too when I had some questions about the area and all. The room 's clean, spacious and warm too, which is especially important since I visited Seoul during the cold winter. Haedong also speaks great English if you don't speak Korean so it's really easy in terms of communication. Overall, I highly recommend the place. Plus, I met Hyun Bin and Han Ji Min when They were filming around the area ;)
Haedong is an excellent host. He is quick to reply, communicates clearly, and is very caring! My stay was very short, only 2 nights, but they left such a wonderful impression. Everything is exactly as listed - the place is very comfortable and inviting. If/when I return to Seoul, I'll be staying with him! I've already recommended him to family and friends.
My wife and I have been hosting with Airbnb since 2013, but this stay was our first time being guests of Airbnb.
Haedong is an excellent communicator. He and his uncle work as a team. Haedong responds to inquiries and his uncle takes care of the room.
Our flight arrived at 2:00am, Haedong gave us good advice how to get from the airport to his place inexpensively.
The room is exactly as it appears on Airbnb. We were there in the Korean mid winter, but the floor was haeted and there was an electric blanket as well. It was a nice warm bed and room.
Haedong also wrote in Korean for us to show to the taxi driver to take us to Airport limousine stop for our return trip.
Aschasan isnt located in central Seoul, however, its line 5 subway can take us anywhere in Seoul in less than $2 for each trip, so much cheaper than in Sydney.
We live with the host's family, yet we had all the privacy we needed.
The highlight of our stay was when Haedong invited us to observe his family's Ancestor Worshipping Ceremony. We were honoured to be part of this and we were invited to have a nice Korean traditional dinner with his family and extended family - a memorable part of our stay in Seoul. Many thanks to Haedong and your uncle.
Not only that I have had a great trip to Seoul, I have also learned a lot abou Korean family life by talking to Haedong, his uncle and his cousin....No hotel could have provided us that.
I would highly recommend this place for those travellors out there who are desirous a truly Korean experience.
My girlfriend and I spent our Christmas and New Year’s holidays in South Korea at Haedong’s listed room. It was simply amazing. I cannot recommend Haedong enough for your next Airbnb trip to South Korea. My girlfriend and I decided to use the service for the first time and although hesitant at first, the listing and many reviews from previous guests eased this hesitation. Before I confirmed my reservation I spoke to Haedong, introducing myself and my girlfriend, giving him my trip information, and asking him about his background. I felt that welcoming sense and enthusiasm through his text and decided to book a stay at his listing. Right before we flew to Korea, we reconfirmed things with him and he gave detailed trip information. When we reached Korea, we found out that he was busy wrapping things up at work and so he sent his uncle to pick us up from the Achasan (purple, line #5) station. From the moment we met Haedong’s uncle we were enthusiastic. He was very warm and eager to learn more about us. Throughout the duration of the trip, that enthusiasm and warmness was felt—he was an extremely accommodating host who was interested in learning where we wanted to go, talked to us about his own experiences and family, and giving us tips and hints. He shared his home and truly treated us like family ( Our “Korean papa” as he described it, and true to those words) with great gestures towards my girlfriend and I ( that I would like to keep private because they were very special to us). Although Haedong was not present at the beginning of the trip, he occasionally messaged us to check on us, wish us a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and find out if there was anything that he could do to help us. During the last two days of the trip, we had the pleasure of meeting Haedong and sharing a few meals with him. He, like his uncle, was eager to learn about our experiences during the trip, was extremely accommodating, and teach us about his culture through the lenses of a younger generation. On the day we left, Haedong helped us with our luggage and even took us to the airport limo service in Gunja on his offday from work. Learning about his experiences and I can truly say that my girlfriend and I made a friend on this trip.
I HIGHLY recommend this listing. Everything is as advertised and gives you a glimpse into Korean life and a Korean household, which has quirks unique to the country that are not found in the U.S. A perfect place to immerse yourself in the culture. They area true reflection of the Korean people who we met on the trip—extremely nice, extremely welcoming, eager to learn about you, and family like. Haedong and his uncle were very respectful, never once invaded our privacy, and truly treated us like family. Thank you guys so much!
