Located in Northwest Boise overlooking the Fairgrounds, Hawks Memorial Stadium and Les Bois Race Track (stables border the Boise River and Greenbelt). A short walk to Hyatt Hidden Lakes Reserve. 10-15 minutes gets you to the airport, BSU Stadium, downtown Boise and The Towne Square Mall.
My home is in a quiet, established neighborhood. This subdivision sits on top of what we in Boise call a "bench." In fact, it's the first of three benches in Boise. Below the bench is Garden City and most of Northwest Boise, all bisected by the gorgeous Boise River.
Your room has a microwave, refrigerator/freezer and a 5-cup coffee maker and necessary condiments. Inside the fridge you'll find Maxwell House French Roast and bottled water. Your room also has a dresser and settee and, of course, ample closet space. There are extra blankets in the settee and an electric blanket with control on the night stand.
This room has a connecting door to the bathroom.
The house: The backyard has a kids tramp, a love swing, fire pit and a screened-in upper deck. You'll also have access to two bikes should you wish to bike the Greenbelt or just around the neighborhood or around town. Plus, it's only a short walk/ride to Hyatt Hidden Lakes Reserve.
Things to do: I highly recommend biking the Greenbelt. The greenbelt is a very nicely maintained asphalt pathway that follows the bank of the Boise River. Bikers, joggers and walkers all utilize the Greenbelt from dawn 'til dusk everyday of the week and almost year round. The Greenbelt starts about a mile west of the Boise city limits and travels east through Boise and Garden City out to Lucky Peak Park which is situated at the foot of Lucky Peak Reservoir -14 miles away. There are three wonderful restaurant/pubs to stop for food and refreshments. You can easily make a day of it.
It takes all of 5 minutes to reach the Greenbelt, Le Bois Race Track (horse racing), Hawks Memorial Stadium or the Western Idaho Fairgrounds. You might be interested to know that the horse stables border the Greenbelt. Check them out as you bike by!
We are 20 minutes from the airport and 12 minutes or less from downtown Boise, Boise Sate University and Bronco Stadium, The Towne Square Mall and your pick of four different movie theaters
I live upstairs but your privacy is important to me. If you need something, please come to the landing. If you need access to an iron and ironing board or if you need some laundry done, that's not a problem, just let me know.
I have two bedrooms, a family room w/ TV but only one bathroom available to guests in the downstairs part of my split entry home (front entry and then either upstairs or downstairs). Consequently, I have three listings: One is a larger rm w/ queen bed and doorway directly to bathroom. The second is a smaller rm w/full bed across the hall from the bathroom. The third listing is both bedrooms, bath and family room. Unless you've secured the entire downstairs, you must expect to share the bathroom. There are interior locks on all doors. I have separate, colored towels in each room when I'm hosting individual guests in both rooms. All my guests have always been so considerate to each other and, honestly, incredibly clean. Regardless, I check the bathroom for cleanliness at a minimum of once a day.
I live upstairs and all my guests have always been so respectful of that.
Room was clean, comfortable. Warm welcome with complementary bottled water and wine in fridge. Coffee and microwave added convenience. I enjoyed the host and would recommend this room and stay again.
I stayed with Tom for a night as I was traveling cross country. He was really nice and wonderful! He helped me bring in all my things and the room was set up very nicely. Everything I needed for the night was there. It was very clean and comforting. I had forgotten to tell Tom about my dog being with me but he was very understanding and accommodating! I definitely recommend staying here and if I'm traveling I'll be staying here again for sure!
The room we stayed in was very cozy. We loved that he set out utensils and had a microwave and etc! It was like a hotel, but more homey. Definitely recommended!
Tom's place was just what the doctor ordered after a long drive from Seattle. I got there late, so it was nice to be greeted by a warm smile. His rooms downstairs are so cozy and perfect for travelers. He has it conveniently set up for you, so you want for nothing and the best part THE BED. OMG it was like heaven getting into a warmed up bed after coming out of 10 degree weather. Perfect stay. When I make the drive back to seattle I will definitely be staying here again.
My boyfriend and I stayed with Tom for one night while traveling across the country. I cannot recommend this place enough! It was wonderful having the privacy of the Tom's cozy basement....attached to the room we had our own bathroom, which was extremely clean! :) Our past Airbnb experiences often included a bed that was too small for us two (he is 6'1) but we were extremely comfortable in the bed at Tom's. Overall, this was our BEST Airbnb experience so far! Thanks Tom!
Tom is a great host. Very accommodating, and the room is very private. He has a great movie collection too :)
This was our second stay with Tom. He is a wonderful host and his room is perfect. We had a wonderful rest both on both visits. I wholeheartedly recommend Tom and his home to anyone staying in the Boise area. I only wish we could have stayed longer!
My wife and I stayed at Tom's house. Tom was the perfect host! Even leaving us a bottle of wine and chocolates as a welcome gift.
The room was perfect with an extremely comfortable bed and even a refrigerator and a micro. I would not hesitate recommend Tom's home to anyone stopping in Boise. The neighborhood is quiet and quite pleasant and close to shopping and restaurants. Thanks for a great stay!
Tom's place is very nice and close to a big grocery store, so we could buy snacks for our long journey next day. The room is spacious with private bathroom and facilities such as fridge, coffee maker and microwave. Tom is hospitable and friendly host. A bottle of wine and chocolates prepared in our room were the highlight of our traveling and we had a romantic evening as a bonus :) We highly recommend this accommodation to anyone who would travel through Boise area.
Five stars! I had a wonderful stay with Tom on the West Bench in Boise. His house is in a very nice neighborhood and the room and ensuite bathroom had been recently remodeled. I found wine and chocolates in the refrigerator in my room, which was a very nice welcoming touch.
Tom made me coffee in the morning and we spent some time chatting before I headed out to visit with my family in Boise. I would definitely recommend staying with Tom.
