We have had the most wonderful experience in Stacey's adobe. Everything was perfect. The decoration of this historic house has impressed us, we had at some times the impression that we were in a warm and welcoming museum. We walked everyday to Santa Fe's historic Centre for visiting and lunches or dinner, it takes 15 to 20 minutes. The house is very near a very nice restaurant, Martin, where we used to go generally for lunch, near the railroad dostrict which is developing and where there was a nice farmer's market on Saturday and artisan's market on Sunday and a good local restaurant called Cowgirls. We used to walk also for shopping to Whole Foods around 500 meters from the house. Jeff, the house manager, is a very warm and welcoming person and very helpful when needed. The house is well equiped, nothing was lacking. And Santa Fe and the region have seduced us, we will certainly come back at Stacey' cottage, we loved it! Thank you for these perfect holidays.
The house was everything we were hoping it would be. Very nicely decorated and appointed. Great kitchen. Everything was well provided for. Good visitor information and local guidebooks. Also, nice places to sit outside to enjoy the yard and sun. Location was excellent, just a few blocks from the Railyard area, the Farmer's Market, and an easy walk to the Plaza and Canyon Road. Also, near grocery stores and restaurants. We'd definitely stay here again.
What a lovely stay! The location of the this house was easily within walking distance of both the Plaza area and the Railyard. Jeff the manager was very welcoming and the house was just as described. Charming place for a weekend getaway or a longer stay. Highly recommended.
What a great place, and you can't beat the location if you want to be within walking distance to the plaza. It is cozy, comfortable and makes you feel right at home. They had pretty much all you needed for your stay including a great kitchen (we love to cook) and a working fireplace. The manager Jeff was super helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed our week here and hope to come back again.
The Adobe is indeed charming and was ideal for our needs. It was comfortable, had a wonderfully supplied kitchen, and plenty of space. The decor was quite nice as well. The location was terrific; definitely close to anywhere we wanted to go, i.e., shops, restuarants, galleries, etc.
We skiied both Ski Santa Fe and Taos (Taos was a 2+ hour drive each way, but still doable) and the Adobe worked well for that also. I would recommend for any type of visit to the Santa Fe area.
About the Host, Stacey
We are both Humanities teachers and musicians with grown children. We chose Santa Fe for our second home because of the culture and lifestyle the city offers: the incredible art, music, architecture, and history; the amazing food; the stunning mountains and forests; and the fascinating variety of people who have interesting outlooks on life. You will never be bored on a visit to Santa Fe!
Our tastes in culture are eclectic: We love opera, chamber music, and jazz, but we are also addicted to Breaking Bad, Homeland, and Deadwood. You'll find a little of everything in our library. When we are in Santa Fe, a trip to Ten Thousand Waves is a must, as are sunset drives over the hill to Tesuque and Nambe.
We have been lucky enough to travel throughout Europe and Asia, where most often we have stayed in one place for some time and rented apartments or small houses. We know what it is like to rent someone's home for a vacation, so we have outfitted our home to help you feel totally at home as well.
