Welcome to Northern Arizona! If you are looking for a unique, convenient space at a reasonable price, my place will be perfect for you. Please read below, contact me with questions, or send your resservation request to save your spot!
This is a wonderful eclectic cottage with comfort, personality, and convenience. It's near to everything, but tucked far enough away from the main road to feel like you are out in the middle of the country, as well as a short walk down to the Verde River down a cottonwood lined dirt road. The cottage is very simple and older, there is nothing fancy here. But it is cozy and comfortable.
The cottage is 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom, with a fenced in backyard, located on a dirt road a few hundred yards away from the main road. The bedroom has a queen bed, chair, nightstand, and space for your things. The room comes with towels for two people and bathroom soap, shampoo, and body wash provided for your convenience.
It is an older cottage on a dirt road, so dust and bugs come and go easily and the cottage is very humble. If you are looking for something fancy, this won't be a good place for you. But if you are looking for simple charm, please come!
The space is perfect for 2 people. If you have more, I can provide an air mattress or a 2nd bedroom for an extra fee, please inquire about availability before booking..
The cottage is decorated in a cozy, vintage style, complete with a 1960 Magnavox consul for playing LP’s. There’s a working fireplace in the living room (super cozy in the late fall and winter), and an outside fire-pit for roasting marshmallows in the summer (fire restrictions permitting). There is an outdoor table and charcoal BBQ for outdoor dining.
The backyard is a good size and comfortable, but not really manicured. It is great for people with dogs. The backdoor can stay open for easy access in and out of the house during the day (at night, too many bugs mean you have to close it)
The kitchen is small but convenient, and you are welcome to use all amenities.
I’ve been a meditation teacher, ki gong teacher, energy healing, and nature guide in Sedona for the past three years, and will be very happy to help you plan your trip and let you know the good spots around here for visiting, hiking, recreating, or meditating if you leave enough time for us to chat when you check in.
The house is as close to Sedona as you can get in Cottonwood, with easy access to Old Town Cottonwood, Cornville, and Jerome. The last three are full of great places to visit that a lot of Sedona tourists miss out on.
I have two sweet dogs who won't be here when you are here, but the house is dog friendly. If you want to bring your own pets, please contact me and let’s discuss. As long as your pets are well under your control, I would love to have them.

Interaction with Guests
When this listing is up, it means I will be away. You will have the place to yourself. If possible, I will be here to greet you, otherwise, we will arrange other check-in details.
This location, though only a few hundred yards from the main road through town, is quite remote. There are just three neighbors around, its very private. A short car ride will bring you to many of the best areas in the Verde Valley.
There is not convenient public transport, you need a car for this location.
Other Things to Note
Just a note: I love on a dirt road. It is short, and you don't need a 4-wheel drive vehicle (I drive a Honda Accord), but expect muddy puddles if it rains and other small inconveniences of living on a farm property.
My only request is that you are respectful, clean, and obey the laws of the land! Keep the noise level to a respectable level. No drugs please. I am a casual drinker, alcohol is welcome but no drunkeness please. No smoking in the house or ashing on the ground. I also prefer you use earth friendly cleaning products, since we are on a well and the chemicals will eventually make their way into the water supply. Thanks!
Cute place in a good location. The house is as described and it's nice being away from everyone but a quick drive to everything.
The place is definitely rustic but it works. Our major complaint was the rooster who woke us up before 5am every morning, not quite what we were looking for on our vacation. We wake up at 5 everyday for work and always look forward to sleeping in on the weekends.
Jeanie was super nice and easy to deal with and you can't beat the price.
Jeanie was awesome. She's a meditation teacher and has such good energy. Her dogs are wonderful too! It's so refreshing to go out to the country and a bit away from the city. The bed was very comfortable, even with a rain or ocean or country sounds simulator that was great. She shares the home with you and is very loving.
Great location, close to everything, but country quiet. We really enjoyed our stay here, and we were only 3 blocks from our grandson.
We had a great time at Jeanie's cottage. We were so happy to find an affordable place to stay with a full kitchen. My daughter enjoyed running around the backyard and watching the squirrel that lives under the deck. We didn't meet Jeanie but she was very quick to respond to my messages and was very helpful.
I love the location of this cabin. My daughter was able to see cows, horses, and chickens. It was very quiet and relaxing. Our dogs were able to enjoy the backyard and walks down the road. Keep in mind this location is remote but definately a getaway.
Had a great stay at Jeanie's. She was very kind and made the accomidations very comnfortable. Would love to stay again!

I am originally from the East Coast (Philadelphia and New Jersey) and went to undergrad and grad school in New England. I moved out here to Arizona about four years ago. I only expected it to be for a little while, but have discovered the Southwest is a great place to be and am still here. As much as I miss the Atlantic, the pace and beauty out here in the West have me charmed.
I love to travel and have been quite a few places around the globe, but these days my job as a meditation retreat leader keeps me pretty close to home. The cottage where I live now is hands down my favorite habitation yet. I am a pretty laid back host. I love hearing people's stories, and would love to get to know you. I often have friends over for a meal, which you are welcome to join, but on the other hand, I work a lot, so you may experience a good mix of solitude and company here. Sometimes I am away for the weekend too, so you might have the place to yourself occassionally, depending on the time you come.
I also hope to use Airbnb one day soon as a guest. But for now, come stay with me and I will travel vicariously through your adventures here in the great southwest.
