This is a 2 bdrm apt in a prime location of Venice, CA. My girlfriend and I live here in the master bedroom with our Portuguese Water Dog (45 lbs and very friendly) and our little rescue dog, Kevin. FYI - they are both cuties and harmless but can be a bit vocal. The guest bedroom is for guests. Venice beach is a very hip and popular place to be in Los Angeles especially during the summer months. Art, music, yoga and healing, architecture, travelers, bohemians, eclectic culture, sports enthusiasts, techies, and film buffs thrive here. Personally, I am a film and television producer/exec and my girlfriend is a writer. We can recommend good places to eat and some fun galleries to visit. Or exploring is quite easy to do around here with a very open and welcoming culture. We are both busy people, but can easily help guide you in the right direction and we don't mind having people around. The room is clean and has a queen size bed, vanity table, lamp, walk-in closet, private bathroom, direct TV, and a Wireless connection. In the living room we watch good television (Dexter, Damages, anything on HBO) and an occasional movie, it is free for casual relaxation, reading a book or working on a laptop. The place is located about 7 blocks from the beach and 5 from the hip Abbott Kinney. There is secured access to the building and plenty of street parking. Just be aware of street cleaning on alternating sides on Monday and Tuesday mornings. The kitchen is also available for you to use and Whole Foods 3 blocks away. There are also lots of restaurants to choose from in the neighborhood. We have a washer/dryer in the garage. Bus lines stop on Lincoln (1 block from here) and the number for yellow cab:(phone number hidden). Coming from the airport, I find the fare is usually arnd $15-$30 depending on traffic and takes about 20 minutes. The shuttle is $10 with a few stops along the way. This neighborhood is easy to get around by bike and there are lots of bike rental shops nearby. Roller blades, skateboards and walking have also been popular choices for getting around if one does not have a rental or car.
I'd also like to make everyone aware that we replaced the carpet in the stair well with some beautiful hardwood floors and we get the bedroom's carpet steam cleaned every few months.

The room was pretty much exactly as advertised and Venice is a great area. Anson was hospitable and friendly and made us feel comfortable enough to treat his home as ours for the time that we were there. Highly recommended.
Place was quite nice, host was friendly and helpful. Very close to a bus stop so only ~10 minutes from Santa Monica as well as just across the road from a supermarket.
Dogs were very friendly.
Anson was accommodating and friendly on arrival. We only stayed for 1 evening as our travel plans changed. There were 3 dogs as described and they were friendly. The room itself; the carpets were very stained / dirty. The towels and pillow covers / sheets had some marks : stains & smelt like they were in need of a Wash; not sure whether it was clean or not so I didn't use any of them and we layed-out clothes to sleep on to be safe . The house could have been cleaner, the floors were dirty and there a was a smell of animals throughout the house.
I can't really comment on location as were only there for 1 night and didn't travel to far from the apartment.
It's not my cup of tea but this room has had so many great reviews from other people, it's really just personal preference.
A comfortable bed in a trendy area. Dogs are very friendly so you've got to like them to stay here.
First I had to alternate one night and Anson was kind and quick to accept it so airbnb refunded me immediatley, then due to itinirary changes beyond my control I had to cancel the last 2 nights and although I didn't even ask for a refund Anson was carring and very nice to communicate with.
We had a nice, big room with our own bathroom. perfect for us. we had everything we needed. we didn't meet anson, but his girlfriend suzy was very polite and helpful. we recommend this place!
Great stay, great neighborhood, and Suzy was super nice. This is the perfect place for dog lovers! Two flights of stairs from the street lead to a great big room with lots of space and sunlight. Anson was traveling but very responsive.
We had a great time staying at Anson and Suzy's place. The location was perfect and Venice beach really rocks. The place is between Abbot Kinney and Rose Avenue and really close to the beach. There are loads of things you can do in terms of restaurants, cafes, bars and shopping. We met only Suzy during our stay and she was very nice with us. The dogs are adorable and very friendly.
My 4-night stay at Anson and Suzy's was great. Suzy is firendly (Anson was away) and easy to work with. Comfortable bed, nice big room, private bathroom with plenty of hot water and clean towel. Wifi, tour book of LA, and keys to get through the gate and front door. A little trouble getting the TV to work the first couple nights, but Suzy found the connection problem, so no biggie. Parking is easy on the same street as their condo, and about a 15-20 minute walk to the Venice Boardwalk. I will mention that you must like dogs for this place to wotk for you. The 3 dogs are very sweet but also very "lively". They did not keep me up at night, but they do make their presence known when entering the apartment or leaving your room. I am a dog lover so I had no problem with them. All said and done, I had an excellent experience and would recommend to others looking to avoid hotel prices.
Anson and Suzy have a nice pretty home!
Our room was spacious with big comfortable bed and big window. There are also few mirrors in the room which is very comfortable for girls)
Our private bathroom was clean and quite big with all you need - shampoos, conditioners, soap and fresh towels.
The place is close to the beach, Whole Foods and lots of cafe and restaurants.
Suzi (we didn't meet Anson) was very friendly and nice!
Wonderful doggies were great! We had a lot of fun during this week and my wife missed them now.
