The Space

Your own bedroom in the coveted Marina district of San Francisco, CA:
• This is a large (175 sqft, 11.5' x 12') bedroom in a four room flat.
• Room has queen-sized bed and will sleep two.
• Almost everything in the apartment is hypoallergenic including your fancy Natori bamboo sheets.
• Furnished with bed, desk, chair, WiFi, and limited on-demand movies.
• Hardwood floors, rooftop deck, backyard patio seating, and great sunlight. I live in the other large room and the kitchen and bath we share.
• There are no furry pets (I have fish...and allergies) and the robot vacuum does its best to keep everything tidy between house cleaning visits.
• There is a pay washer and dryer downstairs.
• The building has intercom / buzzer access.
• You get your own key during your stay.

Guest Access

• You have complete access to your room, closet, bathroom, a simple kitchen/dining area, and all of my (limited) cooking supplies and refrigerator.

Interaction with Guests

• I'll enjoy helping you discover the city as much as possible, though sometimes you'll just get the "key hand-off" due to work and travel. There is so much to do in San Francisco that we'll have to talk about ways to shrink your must-do list.
• Please contact me if you are intending to stay for longer than two weeks as I am favoring shorter stays. You'll need to sell me on the idea.
• I'm unable to offer a discounted rate.

The Neighborhood

• You are 2 blocks from shopping and restaurants on Chestnut street and 3 blocks from the Marina Green, Yacht Club, and so much more.
• This is a reasonably quiet, quaint neighborhood off of the main roads. Street parking is an option.

Getting around

• Close to Muni bus 22, 30, 30x, plus many tourist buses on Lombard Street and way too many Go-Cars and bicycles for rent.
• To get to the/from the airport I have done the BART train with a bus ride; takes about 1hr30min and costs $10 each way. I've also done a taxi door to door for $60 and 20min each way. Finally, there is the shared van rides which take about 45min and cost $25. The shared van is the best option, taxi is easiest...bus/train are cheapest.

Other Things to Note

• This is a top floor apartment; meaning there are no neighbors living above you...and also that there are three flights of stairs (third floor).
• There is no elevator in the building. That's not really a big deal, but if you have a ton of things or are out of shape, it can be a struggle.

  • Great location near the Golden Gate Bridge. Vic was very helpful and friendly and made me feel right at home!

  • I had a wonderful stay at Vic's place. The apartment is in an ideal location -- two blocks from a ton of great shops and restaurants and in walking distance from the Presidio where you can go hiking and escape from the city a bit (awesome views and access to some cool beaches right outside the city). The room itself was perfect -- comfortable clean bed and a ton of space. I loved falling asleep to the sound of the wind whipping in off the water.

Vic is just an all around great guy and I really enjoyed staying with him. I was in town for about a week and he was nothing but an excellent host throughout. He was really helpful and fun to talk to when we were both around at the same time.

I highly recommend this place! Would definitely stay again on my next trip to San Francisco.

  • This was our 1st airbnb experience and I was a bit hesitant to stay in a strangers home, so we split our stay in a few different places (Vic's was the 2nd). My daughter and I stayed for 2 nights. His home is exactly as advertised, a comfy bed offering a good nights sleep and no unpleasant surprises. Due to our schedules, we only met him briefly however he was polite and responsive to any questions we had. The neighborhood is beautiful and we did quite a bit of walking with no concerns for safety. It is centrally located which made getting around easy and the neighborhood is relatively flat (in comparison to the rest of SF), which was a nice plus. I would recommend his place if your looking for somewhere to stay in this area.

  • Vic was a pretty excellent host. He was a great resource for my upcoming triathlon race and even offered to lend me a jacket! The location was great for the race and the apartment was totally adequate. There was a slight misunderstanding when my BF surprised me and I asked if he could stay, but Vic handled it well.

  • This was our first airbnb experience, and it was great! We selected the location based on its vicinity to Fort Mason and the positive feedback from previous guests. The reviews and online description were all accurate. Vic is an excellent host. The bedroom and bathroom were very comfortable and clean, and the location was perfect. You can easily walk to shops and restaurants, Fort Mason, the Palace of Fine Arts, and the bay shore. We were out and about during most of our visit, but this was the perfect launching pad for our activities.

  • VIc was a great host and the apartment is centrally located in the Marina. I really enjoyed walking down Chestnut street and along the water with the luxury of being back at the apartment within minutes. Great place to stay and I recommend this place for travelers who want to be close to the water, great shops, and in one of the prettiest neighborhoods in SF.

  • Vic was a great host. We weren't in the apartment very often together, but communication was still great and the place itself is excellent. Would definitely recommend staying with Vic.

I've lived in San Francisco for the last ten years and for work I build fancy data models to help computers think about finance and risk. I make it a point to squeeze every drop out of life, love new experiences/people/destinations, and practice pouring positive energy over my community. I spend a great deal of time doing charity fundraising for The Guardsmen in San Francisco and am otherwise playing with one of the running or triathlon clubs. I was born in New Orleans, grew up in Los Angeles, and spent six years in the US Navy as a Nuclear engineer and search and rescue swimmer.
