Peaceful, historic home within walking distance of all major attractions. You will have access to our 3rd floor private room. We will provide a detailed list including a map of recommended places to visit during your stay with us.

The Space

We have a small dog that we rescued from a shelter. She is an 8 pound chihuahua but thinks she is a big dog (as many chihuahuas do). She is harmless but it is best to ignore her for the first 10 minute or so. Our location puts you close to Center City, Rittenhouse Square and famous historic sites. We can offer suggestions for great local restaurants, coffee shops, excellent brunch places etc.. Our room can comfortably accommodate 2 people.

Guest Access

You are welcome to use our kitchen, bathroom and living room with TV. WiFi is available throughout the house.

Interaction with Guests

We are both full time workers and graduate school students. However, if our schedules align, we would love to have a conversation with you :)

The Neighborhood

We *love* our neighborhood of Bella Vista. We live on a very quiet side street that is within walking distance to everything. Our neighbors are a mix of young professionals who are new to the area, and those who've been living on our block for 3 generations.

Getting around

Free parking is difficult, if not impossible to find after 5PM. We recommend arriving via public transit or taxi if possible. If you must drive, several public parking lots are very close by.

If you are arriving from the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) you can take the Airport Line towards Center City Philadelphia to "University City" and from there take the #40 SEPTA Bus towards 2nd and Lombard, but don't ride the entire way! Get off the bus at the intersection of South St and 8th St. That will put you within 2 blocks of our front door.
Alternatively, you can take a taxi from the airport to our front door. There is a standard set fee of $28.50 for this.

If you are arriving to 30th St. Station you will take the Market Frankford Line (Subway) towards Frankford Trans Center (4 stops). Then, take the #47 SEPTA bus to the intersection of 8th St. and Fitzwater St. That will put you within 1 block of our front door.

Other Things to Note

A word of caution: we live in a standard 120-year old Philadelphia row home, meaning tight stairs! Those with large suitcases may find it easier to leave the suitcase on the 1st floor, or we will help you :) Also, the bathroom is on the 2nd floor and your room is on the 3rd floor so if you have trouble navigating stairs our arrangement might not suit you.

  • The apartment was cozy and within walking distance of the Magic Garden and the Italian Market. Jason responded to me right away and things were ready hours after I sent the request. I would definitely recommend this space.

  • Jason and Alanna live in a nice house in a very sweet area of the center of Philadelphia with beautiful brick houses and small streets. They both are very friendly and the room is tidy and comfortable

  • Although we didn't get a chance to meet Jason and Alanna during our trip to Philly, we were very pleased with our first airbnb experience! The home is in a fantastic location--within walking distance of a lot of great restaurants, shops, parks, etc. We ended up walking to the Electric Factory for a concert and were pleasantly surprised with how safe we felt doing so...even at night. Another convenient aspect of Jason & Alanna's place was the electronic lock system. Not having to exchange set of keys worked out perfectly for us as we never ended up seeing our hosts. We also really appreciated how prompt our hosts were with replies to our inquires prior to our trip. They made the whole experience easy! Not only would I recommend this room to other people, but I would stay there again in the future.

  • As expected, also our second stay at Jason's and Allana's home was great and relaxed.

  • The room is very spacious and well kept. The bed was comfortable and the AC unit was very helpful as I visited Philly in the summer. The room and the whole house are clean, no complaints about that. The house is located in a very nice neighborhood, 10-15 minute walk to the city hall or the Liberty Bell areas. Also as suggested by Jason there are good places to eat around and we tried Sabrina's (we loved it). I did not have the opportunity to meet Jason or Alanna as I spent only one night there and spent most of my time walking around the city, but they were always available. We had a great experience there, just be aware if you have mobility issues the stair are steep (like in any old house).

  • Jason and Alanna (and Pepper) were fantastic hosts. The room we stayed in was spacious, very clean and suited us extremely well. They have a wonderful home and we're very grateful to have stayed there. They left prescriptive and easy to follow instructions which made coming and going very easy. Bella Vista is a terrific neighbourhood and is close (walking distance) to everything you could hope for.

We would definitely stay here again and recommend Jason and Alanna's place to friends and family.

  • Jason was a very easygoing host (even though we did not see him much), he gave us great advice on what to do and see in Philly and his apartment is really well-located in the Italian quarter). I really recommend that place! Thanks Jason
