Double room in Stoke Newington up for grabs. Local cafes, pubs and restaurants within 5 minutes, busy nightlife of East London 10 minutes away and good links into the city by bus or train. Flat includes two friendly cats and I can give lots of tips for stuff to do.
The room available has a good sized double bed and the flat itself is relatively spacious by London standards. Both bedrooms in the house are pictured but their not both available all of the time - if you want to know which is available please ask when you contact me. There is a large kitchen diner where we tend to spend most of our time, as well as a small lounge with three seater sofa for film watching etc. The TV is a pretty big and comes with a surround sound system and a sizeable collection of DVDs.
Guests have access to everything in the flat (aside from my room!)
I work during the day and I'm out a lot of evenings, but will be about occasionally. I am around on the weekend and happy to share tips or advice on what to get up to etc.
Stoke Newington is often described as like a small English village, although a village which is close to central London. It has loads of great restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops close to the flat and feels very different to the hustle and bustle of Central London. For those looking for a quiet time, the area is perfect, with lots of parks and relaxed people. For those after something a bit more lively, East London (Dalston and Hackney) is 10 minutes by foot and has an active night life every day of the week. There's also a real creative feel in the area, so several local galleries and exhibitions spaces you can visits. For those who have an active lifestyle, London Fields Lido is a great outdoor pool (20 minutes by foot) and the Lea Valley (30 minutes by foot) is a great place to walk and enjoy the countryside.
Lots of public transport around, including:
From the flat you can be in central London in around 30/40 minutes, depending on which route you take.
Highbury and Islington tube (Victoria Line) 20 minutes away by foot. Links into central London (Oxford St etc).
Canonbury Station (10 minute walk away) with overground links west to Richmond, east to Stratford and South to Peckham and beyond.
Manor House tube (Picadilly Line) 25 minutes away by foot or 5-10 minutes on the bus.
Buses from outside the flat include:
141 (London Bridge/Old Street)
341 (Waterloo/West End)
73 (Victoria via Central London including Kings Cross and Euston)
476 (Kings Cross)
21 (London Bridge/Lewisham)
236 (Hackney and East London)
The reservation was canceled 16 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We spent a very pleasant weekend. The apartment is very nice and comfortable. There is a bus (number 73) that connects the apartment with the city center in 40 minutos.
Tim, David's roommate was very nice and has proposed us several alternatives to complete our visit in London.
But if you don't like animals at all, this floor may not be comfortable because the two cats are very intense and very present at all times.
David was an excellent and relaxed host and he made me feel welcome instantly as did the 2 cats who were fun to have around during the evening. The accommodation is spacious, clean and with everything you could need available in the kitchen and the location is superb with restaurants, bars, shops on your doorstep. The room I stayed in was very comfortable and I had all I needed. I would highly recommend staying here when in London.
David's place was perfect ! Near Cannonbury and buses : it was really easy to get to the city !
David is a good host with two awesome cats (and a fish, everybody forgot the fish !).
We were out a lot but the place was always comfy and warm.
David has been a great host for us (Tim was away this week). He gave to us plenty of advices about London, good pubs and restaurants to go, places to visit. He gave to us the feeling to be at home !
His place is perfect in a quiet area with all you need around. The room is big enough, anyway we weren't there to stay inside.
So thank you again David, you have your place to stay in Paris next time (and yes, the bottle of wine was for you ;) )
We had a great time staying in David's flat. It is central, clean, really close to every bus you need, has everything you need and two cute friendly cats to boot. David was friendly and communicative. We would recommend this place whole heartedly!
David was a great and hospitable host. He was very helpful, gave us some nice tips and was good company to have a chat with too. We instantly made friends with his two cats, Rayu and Yoko, who were simply too cute.
David's apartment was comfortable, clean, tidy and decorated in a very nice style. The bathroom and kitchen were well equiped and his extensive vinyl collection provided us with a cosy musical background on a lazy saturday morning. With shops around the corner and public transport at walking distance, the apartment was well located for it’s price.
We stayed in his appartment for three days and would surely recommend it to others!
David was a great host - considerate and friendly. He was interesting to chat to and very helpful regarding getting around in London. I can highly recommend him to other airbnb users.
I had a great stay in David's flat. He made us feel right at home and even offered to meet us at the bus stop to make things easier. His flat is very comfortable and has everything you would need for a perfect stay in London. It is close to an overground station which will easily connect you to anywhere you would like to go in the city. David gave us tips on where to eat and the best ways to get around, making our experience easy and enjoyable. I would highly recommend staying with David on your trip to London.
David and his 2 very cute cats made sure I instantly felt at ease, we shared a few beers and laughs on my first night, which was cool. His flat is lovely, very nicely decorated and it is a good sized bedroom. Location is perfect, very accessible for central, East and even West London. Will definitely stay at David's again and would recommend to anyone.
