Charming Downtown Getaway
Just a few blocks from downtown. This is the master bedroom which has a queen sized bed and private bathroom (with a two person shower) in a beautiful house. You will have full access to a gourmet kitchen. Breakfast is on your own, but I do provide Starbucks instant via coffee, milk, and granola.
If you have a larger group, I have two additional rooms that are also available to rent for a maximum of four people. No pets and non smokers only please!
The house was recently on the distinguished home tour of San Luis Obispo through the Rotary Club. Here is an excerpt from the local paper about the house:
"Sky purchased her 1904 American Foursquare home four years ago. After years of being used as a triplex rental, it was badly in need of improvements. She knew there would be constraints in remodeling the exterior of the historic home. “We had to work with a boxy building, but we used a lot of curves inside to make it feel really organic,” she said.
Bergman, who is a photographer and chairperson of the Cal Poly Department of Art and Design, worked with her friend, Italian-born architect Enrica Lovaglio Costello, to reinvent the interior in a light, airy, contemporary style. They used curves whenever possible — in the contours of the kitchen island, in doorway arches, and rounded corners. Furnishings and decor were kept simple and spare, a complement to the home’s straightforward architecture.
The seven-month remodel was capped off by installing water-efficient landscaping such as succulents, integrated with edibles like sun-loving artichoke plants."

Non smokers only and no small children!
"I am a member of SLOHosts, the group who worked together to keep short-term rentals available here in San Luis Obispo last fall. I now pay a 10% TOT (room tax) to the city in addition to state and federal income taxes. " This is included in the price.
Gourmet kitchen and beautiful backyard.
Sky was amazing as was the property. Very accommodating and made my guest and I feel very welcome. We loved the location as it was walking distance to lots of restaurants and the downtown area of SLO. I will definitely contact Sky when returning to SLO.
Sky is an amazing host and her home is as beautiful as the pictures, if not more. We stayed in the master bedroom upstairs with attached bathroom. Everything is clean and beautifully arranged and we could tell Sky as an amazing taste for art. We didn't get to meet sky in person unfortunately but she was very responsive whenever we messaged her. We hope to stay with her next time again!
Sky has such a beautiful and comfortable home! We were in the master bedroom and I think she may have the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. Everything was clean and quiet and was perfect for our weekend. The home is located just outside the historic Mill Street area and not too far of a walk from downtown. Just down the street is a Ramen restaurant, Mediterranean, and a taqueria for those who don't want to go too far.
Sky was wonderfully responsive and accommodating. She made sure we had everything we needed to know upon arrival. Although we didn't use them she had fruit, granola, tea and coffee and a lovely backyard with sunny places to sit and enjoy being outside.
I would not hesitate to recommend Sky and her home to anyone and we hope to stay there again!
Sky's house is in a great location within walking distance to restaurants and shops. It is clean, bright, airy, and beautifully renovated. Sky was a great host--she provided helpful information and recommendations about the area, but also gave us our space and privacy. We would stay with her again!
A wonderful first experience using Air B&B, everything we could have wished for! Sky was easy to get in touch with and let us know everything we might need. She even left us a note and visitor's information along with our towels for when we arrived.
Her home was beautiful-- thoughtfully designed with beautiful art, bright, and cheerful. Our room was great: the bed was comfortable, the shower and bathroom was clean and clearly designed with care (track lighting, two showerheads, windows into the shower, etc). The view from the windows is beautiful. Do note that there aren't any window blinds-- so if you are sensitive to light, bring a sleep mask. But it really was a great experience. If you have the opportunity to stay her, absolutely do!
Sky's home was wonderful, just the respite we needed for a long-weekend getaway. The location is great, just a few blocks from downtown SLO and short ride or drive to Pismo & Avila Beaches or to wine country to the east. The house itself is beautiful, nestled in a nice historic district.
Next time we're in San Luis Obispo, we'll be happy to stay with Sky again!
Sky was a great host; she sent a great detailed email with instructions and info ahead of my arrival. The house is very beautiful and comfortable. I was in town for a workshop At CalPoly, this house is in a great central spot in the historic district very close to downtown.
