The space
The riad is a traditional Moroccan home built around an open-air patio.
Riad SO’LOU was renovated in 2025 by an interior designer who carefully preserved its charm and character while honoring traditional Moroccan craftsmanship: sculpted plasterwork, a hand-painted zouak wood ceiling, zellige tiles, tadelakt walls, and distinctive light fixtures adorned with silk and tassels. Every detail has been thoughtfully chosen to celebrate the authenticity of this historic home while providing simple, elegant comfort in a bohemian atmosphere.
At the heart of the patio is a small private pink-and-white plunge pool, perfect for cooling off after a day exploring Marrakech. The peaceful atmosphere is often accompanied by birdsong, a familiar feature of the medina’s traditional riads.
The riad has three double bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom and toilet. Bedroom 1 is located on the ground floor and has a 140 × 200 cm bed. Bedrooms 2 and 3 are located on the first floor and have 160 × 200 cm beds. All three bedrooms are air-conditioned.
An additional guest toilet is available on the ground floor.
The indoor dining room offers an intimate setting for sharing meals. Upstairs, a second lounge provides a comfortable place to relax and includes a TV area.
On the rooftop, a welcoming, sunny terrace awaits you with a dining area, a relaxation space, sun loungers, and a shower for cooling off. An outdoor kitchen and a plancha grill are also available for guests who would like to prepare and enjoy meals on the terrace.
Every morning, our housekeeper Hakima prepares a homemade Moroccan breakfast, included in your stay and served at a time of your choice between 7:30 and 10:00 a.m. Breakfast can be served in the dining room, on the patio, or on the terrace. Hakima also takes care of the daily upkeep of the riad, and end-of-stay cleaning is included.
PLEASE NOTE : The outdoor kitchen on the terrace is available for guests to use. The indoor kitchen, where our team prepares breakfast and other meals, is reserved for staff.
Upon request, Hakima can also prepare a traditional Moroccan dinner consisting of a starter, main course, and dessert. Dinner must be ordered one day in advance and costs €25 per person.

- Our riad is covered from November to March to ensure a pleasant temperature during the cooler months.
- Any additional person must be notified in advance.
In accordance with Moroccan law, Moroccan or mixed-race couples (if one partner is of Moroccan nationality) must present a valid marriage certificate upon check-in.
- Pets are unfortunately not allowed in the riad.
- The tourist tax is payable on site in Moroccan dirhams corresponding to 25 dhs/person/day (2.5 euros).
