Paul was an excellent host: before our arrival he provided a detailed description about his flat and he was open to find out how to satisfy our special needs (he obtained a baby stroller which wasn't included in the appartment). He was flexible and well-organized and gave us a short tour in the flat when we arrived. The place is ideal for couples and families with one baby, the location is great, I highly recommend it! Perfect experience for first airbnb accomodation:)
Paul's girlfriend met me for the key and was very friendly and very flexible about my arrival time.
The apartment is just like in the description, basic but functional. We found the sofa bed rather too hard for sleeping comfortably and there was only one duvet for 2. We had some problems with the room temperature (programmed at 16 C when we arrived), but Paul's girlfriend was reachable and helpful how to fix this.
After booking the flat, I had to engage in a rather unpleasant haggling exercise with Paul as he wanted me to bring EUR 20 cash as he had accidentally fixed too low a price, according to him.
It would be an additional EUR 20 if we wanted to use the inflatable bed. I refused both which he finally accepted. He then told me "I
am currently in Spain so I will have to pay somebody else to hand you the keys and show you the apartment, which in effect means your weekend booking actually costs me money".
I think I would rather choose a different place next time I come to Berlin...
Annika got the complete Apartment for 2 people for just 35 Euro per night, which didn't even cover my costs! She was very demanding, changed her arrival time three times (I'm not a Hotel!) and rented for only 2 nights. The sofa-bed is comfortable for most people and comes with a mattress protector. A double duvet was provided, but if requested before-hand then two singles can be supplied. You simply turn the temperature dial to whatever degrees you require and shouldn't have needed the involved of my girlfriend. All my additional charges are clearly stated in my Apartment advert, including the 20 Euro if the 2nd bed and extra linen is required. This person was a very young student!
I am afraid I didn't met Paul, however his friend helped me. Both were friendly. Thanks to them I could have a nice time in Berlin.
Paul's apartment is very conveniently located. First of all, the transport system is very convenient.
There are many supermarket, restaurant, cafe, shop and even a cinema near his apartment.
It is also safe to walk the streets at late night.
The apartment is well equipped with everything I need. It had even shampoo, laundry detergent for guest. Besides, Paul offered some towel for me.
I strongly commend staying Paul's apartment!
Paul has been a very good host from the first moment we booked: he replied very quickly to my reservation and immediately sent me messages with lots of useful information. When we traveled to Berlin, I kept him up to date about my journey so he was able to be at the apartment when we arrived there. We spent four nights in Paul's place and were very satisfied about it. I especially liked the stereo music system with iPhone cable! :-)
Alles hat bestens funktioniert, die Wohnung war sauber und alles Notwendige enthalten- wir würden die Wohnung immer wieder gerne nehmen :-)
Paul was very helpful, friendly and kind. He provided his apartment on very short notice for me and I felt perfectly "at home" at this nice place in the middle of the charming Prenzlauer Berg area.
This is my second time staying at Paul's flat in Berlin. I think that says a lot in itself to have come back a second time with all the wonderful choices in and around the city. He had great communication throughout the process of scheduling and responded usually within 30 minutes of sending a message. As stated previously, from my first visit, this flat is in the perfect location. Less than 10 minutes by train to Alexander Platz. Lots of shopping within walking distance of flat along with the modern "Fitness First" gym. The flat has everything needed to feel like you've integrated into the city. It is very basic but will check most boxes with high speed internet access and basic tv channels of local news. Paul had provided activity guides and maps of the city to read. Looking forward to a future stay at Paul's flat on my next vacation to Berlin!
