Hello everybody! Enjoy your stay in this japanese-style apartment in one of Cologne's traditional buildings (Altbau) in the so-called Quartier Latäng. The apartment is comprised of two bedrooms, a kitchen and a large bathrooom. Whether it's business or pleasure which brings you to Cologne you will find a comfortably furnished accommodation. The 140 cm futons in the bedrooms provide a good sleeping possibility for one or two persons each. Towels and bedlinen are provided. The apartment is newly refurbished and has two large wooden double-glazed windows. In the roomy, comfortable and fully fitted living kitchen you find everything you need. There is also a Nespresso Coffee machine and a large fridge-freezer. The bathroom is very big, has a large window and is equipped with toilet, sink and over bath shower (see photographs).
The apartment is located in the Zülpicher Strasse near the Zülpicher Platz, one of Cologne's hot spots and well known for its vibrant neighboorhood "Kwartier Latäng" with a lot of bars, eateries and many possibilities for going out. The abundance of pleasant cafés and bars as well as the presence of so many young people give this quarter its special vivacious charm. In this part the Zülpicher Strasse is known as a place for going out and you can not totally escape the vivid hustle and bustle on the streets. Especially at the weekends the street is well and long attended. Nevertheless, the apartment provides a beautiful accomodation and with double glazed windows you can find a cosy habitat in the middle of a pulsating surrounding. In the quarter, you will also find small traffic-calmed streets with many out-of-the-ordinary shops and cafés that give this district an artistic and mediterranean atmosphere. You can find one of Colognes most beautiful beer gardens just around the corner at Rathenauplatz and have a rest while looking at some boule players. From your apartment, you can easily walk by foot to explore the area. Train station (Köln Süd, 200m) und public transport are reachable within 5 minutes and the trams run all day long. Shopping facilities are in the immediate vicinity. You can reach Köln/Messe within 20 minutes and the central station in 12 minutes by public transport from Zülpicher Platz (100m). You only need 10 min to the University of Cologne by foot and 3 min by tram.

House & Booking Rules
By making a booking for the Property via Airbnb, Guests agree to the following House & Booking Rules:
All persons staying at the Property shall be deemed Guests. The person booking the Property at Airbnb shall make sure that all persons staying at the Property have full knowledge of these House & Booking Rules and accept these House & Booking Rules without exception.
Prior to arrival, Guests provide Owner with a list of all persons staying at the Property including their full names, home addresses (as documented in by a passport or ID copy) and a contact telephone number during the stay. The list shall be sent in writing to our email address.
Guests rent the Property solely for their own use. Property shall not be occupied by more persons than indicated in the Airbnb booking. In any case, Guests agree that the Property shall be occupied by no more than the number of persons mentioned in the Airbnb booking. Guests shall not sublet or grant any concession or license to use the Property or any part of it without Owner’s prior written consent.
Upon arrival, Guests shall examine the Property. If Guests do not report any exceptions or changes, Guests agree that the Property is in good order, operable, safe, clean and in rentable condition. Exceptions or changes to this condition must be reported immediately upon detection by Guests to the Owners and Owners’ agent in writing to our email address which has been given to you by Airbnb when booking the Property.
Likewise, any damage occurring during the stay shall be brought by Guests to the attention of the Owner and Owner’s agent immediately upon detection in written to our email address which has been given to you by Airbnb when booking the Property.
During the stay, Guests shall comply with the following rules for the use of the Property:
- Property will always be locked by Guests upon leaving the Property.
- Guests do not smoke in the Property.
- Guests do not rearrange any furniture.
- Guests agree not to place any wet towels on the floors, sofas or beds of the Property.
During the stay, Guests will permit Owner and/or Owner’s agents access to Property if such access is reasonably required for maintenance, safety, security, inspecting the premises or other purposes.
Guests will act in a reasonable and respectful manner and will use the Property carefully so as to allow other guests and tenants in the house to enjoy their time and to avoid damage (reasonable wear and tear, of course, accepted).
Guests will indemnify Owners and save them harmless from all expenses, costs, damages, claims, actions and other liabilities of any kind whatsoever arising from the occupancy or use of the Property by Guests. Guests acknowledge that occupancy and use of the Property is entirely at Guests’ own risk and that there may be hazards including hazards that may make the stay unsuitable for unsupervised children or persons with disabilities.
On the last day of the stay, Guests shall leave the Property until 10am, if not agreed upon differently prior to the leaving with the Owner or Owner’s agent. All dishes must be washed and properly stored before departure. Property shall be left in an overall tidy condition. Used linens and towels can be left as is, as their cleaning is covered by the cleaning fee.
The cleaning fee does not cover the cleaning of excessive dirt or dishes. If Property is excessively dirty or dishes are not washed and stored, a double cleaning fee will be charged. During longer-term stays (eg. more than one week), Guests will take care of the cleaning of the Property. In doing so, Guests will make sure that no excessive cleaning is necessary upon leaving the Property.
These House & Booking Rules complement the rules of Airbnb. If there is a conflict between these House & Booking Rules and any part of the rules of Airbnb, these House & Booking Rules shall supersede the respective rule(s) of Airbnb.
Great apartment with a great location. Very roomy, and everything you could need to be comfortable. Our host warned us that it could get noisy on Saturday night (and it did), but our other nights did not have that issue.
The local area contains an endless variety of restaurants and pubs. Even a nice beer garden in the nearby park, which was great for 'the kid'. Public transportation is a short walk away to give you access to the city.
We unfortunately were never able to meet our host, Nina, due to her having another obligation at the same (short ) time that we were there. However, her communications were always prompt, extremely helpful and friendly.
Nina en Mortimer zijn zeer adequaat en zorgvuldig in de voorbe-reidende contacten om er voor te zorgen dat alles vlot verloopt. Ondanks dat er zelf niet waren om ons te ontvangen was alles perfect voorbereid. Het is een mooi, ruim en licht appartement dat aangenaam is ingericht en voldoende ruimte biedt voor vier perso-nen. De keuken is ook goed geequipeerd. De ligging in een drukke eet- en uitgangsbuurt zorgt ervoor dat er er 's nachts lawaaiig kan zijn. De dubbele ramen kunnen het geluid niet buitenhouden. De een heeft daar last van, de ander slaapt er gewoon doorheen. Voordeel van de ligging is wel dat je ook te voet naar de binnenstad kunt, ongeveer 25 minuten tot de Dom. Het vinden van een goede en betaalbare parkeerplaats voor de auto kan een probleem zijn. Naast de universiteit is er een ruime parking ( 15 min lopen) voor langer parkeren, wel alleen met muntgeld te betalen. Een aantal praktische aanbevelingen van onze kant zijn door de eigenaars meteen beantwoord. Voor ons doel: een cultuurreis naar Keulen was dit appartement een ideale uitvalsbasis. Zeker voor diegene die niet gestoord worden door het nachtlawaai. Kortom, wij zijn tevreden met deze airbnb !

Die nette Kontaktperson antwortet schnell und zuverlässig. Wir haben uns nicht persönlich kennen gelernt, aber alles wurde bestens organisiert - sogar hilfsbereit aus der Ferne! Die Wohnung befindet sich in einem lebhaften und dennoch angenehmen sowie zentral gelegenen Quartier. Der Aufenthalt als Familie war somit ideal, d.h. uns hat es gefallen.
Professionelle und korrekte Gastgeber. Wir haben sie nicht kennengelernt, aber es war für alles gesorgt und es gab jederzeit Unterstützung. Sogar mein vergessener Kulturbeutel wurde uns trotz widriger Umstände nachgeschickt... Danke!
This was a great place to stay in Cologne! The apartment is spacious, clean, comfortable and perfectly located within a good distance of the centre. The flat has a lot of utilities too including a coffee machine which was great for early mornings. Also, Nina was very helpful and friendly throughout, we could not have asked for a better host. The only setback is that the area can be a little noisy (being so close to the university) so not ideal for those who are very light sleepers! BUT despite this it is an all in all a great place to stay and a very positive place to stay :-)
