I had a lovely 2 night stay here, using the mosaic room as a kind of "base camp" while I did some spring training on my road and mountain bikes around the Charlottesville area. Eileen's quirky and charming art decorates the mother-in-law apartment, which is very spacious with a private (huge!) back patio, bedroom, large living room, and kitchenette. The only time I felt like I was really in a shared space was with parking - you have to use the driveway, as there is no street parking - but I was never asked to move my car or anything of the sort. The distance to downtown C-ville is walkable, but about 30 minutes or so, and next time I'd drive as there are tons of spots nearby the "mall." Overall, a great experience - I only wish I could see it in the summer, as I'm sure the patio is beautiful with everything green and blooming!
Gracious hosts. Comfortable bed. Lovely balcony/patio overlooking a scenic stream.
We had a fantastic stay with Eileen. We never actually ran into her, but here home was very beautiful with tons of privacy. Everything was clean and comfortable. It was also conveniently located to everywhere we wanted to go!
We booked our stay at Eileen's only a few days before a last minute decision to head to Charlottesville for some hiking & brewery visits. We were quite busy and ended up just showering & sleeping there so we didn't get to enjoy the nature trail or the awesome patio, but the accommodations were perfect. Clean, comfy and spacious. Also her location was very central to everything it seemed. Would love to stay again when we have more time to relax!
We were very comfortable staying at Eileen's place and had our own entrance to the house and privacy. Eileen was responsive and provided all of the details needed in advance to coordinate arrival, settling in, and departure. She also provided some great recommendations for what to do in the area - we had an absolutely lovely time!
We had a delightful stay with Eileen and Mark while visiting our son and his family in Charlottesville five minutes away. We had the entire downstairs to ourselves: bedroom, bathroom, comfortable living area and kitchen with sink, refrigerator and microwave. Beautiful view of the Rivanna trail and a small stream from the back patio.
Loved the stay with Eileen and her family! They are friendly and I felt like we were staying with friends. The view from the porch is breathtaking and the art throughout the rooms was beautiful. The space was very clean and comfy. We were only in for a short stay and kept busy seeing Monticello and visiting nearby wineries. There is a Trader Joe's nearby and we managed to squeeze in a nice meal in the quaint downtown area. Would not hesitate to stay again - perfect!
