Staying at Mosaic Room with a view with Eileen and Mark was everything we hoped for and more. We felt very welcome and the accommodations were very roomy and comfortable.
Charlottesville is a great place to visit, plenty of great restaurants and cultural places to visit. Our trip was interrupted by a snow storm (unusual for February in Charlottesville) but it didn't matter, relaxing in the library/family room on the big leather sofa, reading, knitting and watching movies was a great way to relax. In the evening since the roads were still not clear we shared a meal and wine with Eileen and Mark and had a great time.
We will definitely return. There are still plenty of restaurants to try and places to visit.
Eileen's Mosaic Room is wonderful. It's really an apartment, with a bedroom, living room, bathroom and kitchenette. It's spacious, clean, very artsy and attractive with big windows and a wonderful view overlooking a ravine with a babbling brook at the bottom. The house is in a quiet, pretty residential neighborhood that is quite close to downtown. We didn't get to meet Eileen as she was out of town but all our communications were easy and prompt. I'd highly recommend Eileen's apartment.
Everything at Mosaic Room With A View was great! Clean, easy to get to, and super cozy. Eileen left a bottle of Virginia wine for our check-in, which was a lovely gesture. Enjoyed the funky vibe and all the great art. While we didn't get to meet Eileen we had a nice chat with her husband upon checking out. This was my first AirBnB and I would definitely repeat the experience and highly recommend this location.
We felt very at home and comfortable in Eileen's basement. It had everything we needed for three nights. We appreciated the bright lighting inside and having a kitchen available. We enjoyed looking at the interesting art, objects, and books. The house has easy access to the hiking trail and is conveniently located in C'ville. It is really nice of Eileen and her husband to let guests use their driveway, and the space is large enough to for guests to have their own visitors stop by. Next time we visit the city, we'll try to stay again.
The hosts were non-intrusive and when we bumped into them, very friendly and glad to have us. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. The view from the rear patio is incredible. Loved it.
My husband and I were very happy here. Though it is listed as a private room, it is really a suite, with a bedroom, bathroom, living room and kitchen. We didn't need to use the kitchen, but it looked fully functional. The suite is entered through a separate entrance in the back of the house, so it truly feels like a small apartment. The space was charming, comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated. The back patio was peaceful and I relaxed there for an hour or two between engagements. We had the pleasant opportunity to meet and chat with the Butlers, who are lovely. It was also very conveniently located near the UVA campus. We have stayed in Charlottesville many times to visit our son and daughter who are studying at UVA, but this is the first time we stayed someplace other than a hotel. What a huge difference! This apartment is just another reason to love Airbnb.
The apartment was lovely, full of art, books, games, etc. The space was comfortable, clean and welcoming. We have relatives in Charlottesville and I hope to be able to stay there again. Our hosts were away during our visit but left us a delicious bottle of wine. I look forward to meeting them next time.

We love having visitors! Come see all the colors of our artistic world. My husband and I are beach, boat & water lovers who might escape to the Atlantic Ocean, L.I. Sound, Eastern Shore, river, estuaries or creeks of any town or city with our kayak or a sailboat. I am an artist and he is a landscape architect. Space and water views inspire us, so relaxing with good food, music and a sketchbook at the beach is never a bad day! I won't complain about a day in an inspiring city, though. When we travel we're seeking peaceful views, comfort and something different. We make every effort to make those special experiences available for our guests.
