  • We had a great experience. Eileen and husband Mark were very understanding when we changed our arrival time. There was a bottle of wine and a non-alcoholic sparkling beverage waiting for us in the fridge. The accommodations were as described in every way, actually better. The view from the terrace (which you also get from the bedroom) is absolutely wonderful - very pastoral for being in a metro area. Very comfy double bed. Great bathroom. The abundant and excellent artwork throughout by Eileen is an added plus. Coffee and coffee maker provided - bring your own go withs and anything else you might want to drink or eat. Kitchen more than adequate. Mark was a great host and was readily available the couple times we needed something. If we need accommodations in Charlottesville again, we definitely will stay here.

  • Eileen's place is wonderful! It has all the amenities of a woodsy retreat, only a couple miles from DT Charlottesville (I walked it a couple times but cabs are only $6). The view and quiet really make you feel a million miles away. Can't recommend it enough.

  • Eileen's home is beautiful and she was incredibly accommodating. She went the extra mile helping us celebrate our sister's graduation by not only having a great space but also welcoming us with local wine. We had a great time!

  • This is a wonderful place to stay in Charlottesville, VA. We stayed with Eileen and Mark for one night, while visiting our daughter. The apartment was perfect! Spacious, open and a view that made you feel miles away, but we were only a few miles from the heart of downtown. We did not spend a lot of time there, but had a great night's sleep and did spend an hour or so enjoying coffee on the porch, watching the birds. Eileen and Mark could not have been more hospitable, and I wish we had had more time on our end to chat. We will be back!

  • The 'Mosaic Room' is actually several rooms - very comfortable and spacious - which connect out onto a beautiful Mediterranean style patio overlooking the creek below. The view is fabulous and in good weather the patio is a great place to sit back, relax and watch the wildlife. Very peaceful! The accommodation is in fairly easy walking distance of the Charlottesville mall (We did it twice, no problem) so you don't have to worry about parking down town. Eileen is a gracious host. I highly recommend the 'Mosaic Room with a View' next time you are in Charlottesville!

  • What a great first AirBnB experience! Eileen was such a nice host. The space is very roomy, private, and has everything you need. The unique flair or the Gaudi style mosaic patio, kitchen and bathroom was an added bonus. We used this as a home base for winery touring. At night, we'd come back and enjoy our wine on the patio and listen to the sound of the creek below. We've been to Charlottesville several times, but this was by far the best place we have stayed. It actually felt like home! You can't go wrong with Eileen's place.

  • I had a lovely 2 night stay here, using the mosaic room as a kind of "base camp" while I did some spring training on my road and mountain bikes around the Charlottesville area. Eileen's quirky and charming art decorates the mother-in-law apartment, which is very spacious with a private (huge!) back patio, bedroom, large living room, and kitchenette. The only time I felt like I was really in a shared space was with parking - you have to use the driveway, as there is no street parking - but I was never asked to move my car or anything of the sort. The distance to downtown C-ville is walkable, but about 30 minutes or so, and next time I'd drive as there are tons of spots nearby the "mall." Overall, a great experience - I only wish I could see it in the summer, as I'm sure the patio is beautiful with everything green and blooming!

  • We had a fantastic stay with Eileen. We never actually ran into her, but here home was very beautiful with tons of privacy. Everything was clean and comfortable. It was also conveniently located to everywhere we wanted to go!

  • We booked our stay at Eileen's only a few days before a last minute decision to head to Charlottesville for some hiking & brewery visits. We were quite busy and ended up just showering & sleeping there so we didn't get to enjoy the nature trail or the awesome patio, but the accommodations were perfect. Clean, comfy and spacious. Also her location was very central to everything it seemed. Would love to stay again when we have more time to relax!

About
I love having visitors! Come see all the colors of my artistic world. My husband and I are beach, boat & water lovers who might escape to the river, estuaries or creeks of any town or city with our kayak. The water views inspire my art, so relaxing with music and a sketchbook is never a bad day! Living inland in central Virginia makes a beach vacation a top priority for our vacations.
