Lillian and Dominique were fabulous hosts. They provided us with tips on where to go for dinner and which scenic route to drive through. Very convenient location to go see Skellig Islands. The place felt like home and they were kind enough to serve us breakfast. Highly recommended.
Lillian welcomed us with a cup of tea and friendly conversation. We slept well and enjoyed a terrific breakfast before heading to Portmagee for the Skellig Michael boat trip. Thank you for your warm hospitality!
Charming historical building. Amazing selection for breakfast. And super convenient to Skellig Micheal and hosts super helpful at booking a boat to same.
Only concerns were that hot water was hit or miss...you have to ask to have turned on.
Otherwise a great location, helpful advice and unique place.
Absolutely loved staying with Lillian and Dominick at their beautiful Old School House! We only stayed one night as we were hoping to take a boat trip to Skellig Michael, which we did not get to do since boats were not going out that day, however if we had not planned on that, we probably would not have planned to stay here and we would have missed this gem altogether. There were 6 of us, so we had other arrangements already planned, but we would have loved to stay at least a couple more nights. Lillian and Dominick are just genuinely good people who really know how to enjoy life. Lillian is an amazing cook and you have to try her pancakes! Dominick enthralled us with so much history of the area of Ballinskelligs, and the Old School House itself. He also entertained us with magic tricks and playing his guitar. The history was fascinating, and helped us to better appreciate the places we visited. Didn't want to leave this place! Would definitely recommend staying here and would love to go back as well! If you have the time, plan to stay a few nights and enjoy!
Friendly and homely atmosphere (spacious but very cosy lounge with bon-fire and beautiful views). Very welcoming, carrying and helpful hosts :) Delicious pancakes with blackcurrants and cream made by Lillian, accompanied by Dominic playing the guitar!!!:) must-try:)breath-taking views, unforgettable people- special in every way:)
