The house was just as advertised and very well furnished. The open feeling, great balcony, proximity to the beach and restaurants makes this a prime location while staying in Manuel Antonio. The relationship with the hotel made the stay that much better. Julio was extremely helpful and provided guidance and incite into the best activities while enjoying our stay. The only downside is the proximity to the only road in and out of Manuel Antonio and the unavoidable traffic noise. This of course is experienced by all establishments that share the frontage road.
The apt. was stunning everything the pictures said is true.
The terrace was amazing, at times I was happy just staying in and observing all the birds and monkeys just a few feet from us.
We did get our room cleaned with new towels something else I did not expect from reading the other reviews.
The noise from the street was not at all bad like I had imagined,
we couldn't even hear it after a bit. The pool was delicious and the food from the restaurant was great! The Costa Rican staff was the best, warm, friendly and quite helpful.
The only night we were uncomfortable was when there were guests below us, if they were outside it sounded as if their conversation was being held inside our room. But that was only one evening and morning. Everything else was beautiful!!
The studio apartment was ideal or our week Manuel Antonio. It is situated at the top a hill, which has both forest and beach views. You can get a bus to the national park or beach for 320 colones which takes less than 5 minutes and is very regular. I do not recommend walking due to lack of footpaths. Though privately owned, it is managed by the Village Nicolas hotel, which is right next door. The staff were super friendly and booked a few tours for us. There is a security guard who patrols the grounds. We loved the balcony, from which we saw far more wild life from our chairs than we did walking through the national park. The monkeys visited our balcony daily (we watched them from the windows). One of my favourite moments was watching a monkey try to climb into the hammock, he got so frustrated that he gave up, not before hitting and shaking it in frustration. We were sad to leave. I highly recommend this apartment.
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Oasis 1 studio for a week- we couldn't be happier with our choice! It was quiet, relaxing and very clean. The balcony had a great view of the jungle and the ocean, as well. We spent our first day in Costa Rica just relaxing in the hammock reading while we had some monkey visitors! Our favorite part was listening to the afternoon thunderstorms from the balcony. The studio was very big, had a nice television that included American channels, four ceiling fans, and an A/C. The room was always comfortable for us especially after spending the day in the Costa Rican humidity! Having the hotel services of Villas Nicolas was a great addition to our stay. Those at the desk were super helpful and even set up transportation to and from the airport with their driver- Francisco (very nice man!) for $150 each way because the bus system was too confusing for me to figure out online. The pool was very tranquil and the surrounding wildlife entertains you. I also HIGHLY recommend eating at the restaurant that is located within Villas Nicolas, we went to several restaurants around MA and honestly found ourselves with Kenneth being our favorite chef! Oasis 1 was in the perfect location and the bus stop was located right outside so access to the beaches and Quepos was very convenient (many locals on their way to the beach offered us rides and we took them up on their offer, very nice people) The only thing about the studio is that it is pretty dark and we couldn't figure out how to use the light on the balcony, otherwise everything was amazing. Thank you Sheryl for making this an awesome deal, as well as the staff of Villas Nicolas for all the help. We would certainly stay here again!
I just returned from a three week stay at Sheryl's lovely jungle studio in Manuel Antonio. What a lovely place! I was taking Spanish classes at Di Amore's school located only about 5 minutes from the studio, so I spent most of my time resting and studying on the beautiful large patio. The view was amazing and the monkeys visited a few times a day. The bed was comfortable, I always felt safe and they cleaned the place twice a week. I highly recommend this place!
