About this listing
Bella Notte is an old Tudor Mansion in North Avondale about four blocks from Xavier University. The home has two central air conditioning units and and each bedroom has a private bath, but two of the bedrooms can share an adjoining bath to become a 2BR suite for convenient family use.
A fifth bedroom is used as an exercise room featuring a computerized recumbent bike with a display of simulated bike trails as well as a small HD monitor for viewing DIRECTV while working out with the free weights or on the mat.
Bedrooms six and seven are occupied by the owner and used as an office.
Since Air BnB requires separate listings for each room I have several listings, one for each available room. Be sure to check all the calenders for availability. For your convenience all rooms are pictured in each listing to aid in your decision.
All rooms have individually keyed privacy locks for your security and a wireless network gets you on the internet. Every room has a desk that will accommodate a laptop. Televisions are not supplied in the rooms but DIRECTV and Netflix may be watched in the den, and DVDs are available on loan from an extensive collection that you may take to your room and watch on your laptop. Three of the rooms have a shower in the bath, two have a tub as well.
This room has no shower but features a jacuzzi. However, there is a separate bath off the exercise room that does have a shower and may be used by this room if desired. This is the most private room as it is the only guest room on the third floor. There is a den immediately outside the room with a big screen TV, surround sound and a great stereo system.
There is a 24/7 coffee station and a mini-fridge centrally located on the 2nd floor available to all the rooms. The mini-fridge is stocked with complimentary, cold bottled water and a single serve coffee station featuring a choice of coffees.
There is a half-bath on the first floor close to all the dining areas for your convenience. Some rooms feature a CD player or an iPod player to listen to music. The entire house and patio is a non-smoking area. We do not accept pets or small children at this time. We have a gentle cat in the house, so if you are allergic to cats, this is not the place for you. All rooms feature Queen size beds except one, the Gold room, which has a full.
There are four areas where breakfast can be served, The dining room seats ten. The sunny breakfast nook seats four. The solarium seats six and the patio seats four.
The house boasts very large rooms and has multiple dens. The "man cave" features a billiard table, poker table and a backgammon table. Additional dens are a TV room on the first floor, the solarium and a music room on the third floor.
Our kitchen is large and the menu features over three dozen exciting offerings for breakfast, as well as coffee, tea, juice, espressos, lattes and cappucinos. Our goal is to provide you a healthy and creative start to each day. We will make every effort to accommodate your special requirements, such as food allergies or simply just likes and dislikes.
Street parking is abundant in a safe neighborhood where residents walk their dogs and jog at all hours. Off street parking can accommodate up to four cars. Downtown is about 5 miles away. UC and the zoo are just a couple miles. Xavier is about 5 blocks away. The bus stops with frequency a scant block away. Many fine restaurants exist in the Hyde Park area, which is about 2 miles from our location as well as a few in Norwood and in St. Bernard, both just a little over a mile. The best mall shopping is in Kenwood, about six miles away but Hyde Park boasts many fine shops and malls as well. We are centrally located with easy access to both I71 and I75 as well as 562 known locally as the Norwood Lateral. There are several easy to follow surface roads that lead to the main areas of the city and downtown as well, that can get you there without any traffic, any time of day or night in just minutes. The airport, which is in Kentucky is about 30 miles away but if you want to get a better airfare you can fly into Dayton, a 50 minute drive.
Special arrangements can also be made for guests with special needs. Just include that in your inquiry.
Neither firearms nor alcohol are permitted to be brought on the premises. Maid service is available upon request. Guests may choose feather or synthetic pillows.
Mike was very kind and hospitable. He gladly showed us around his beautiful home. He even played a unique instrument with my husband! Our room was tucked away on the third floor, giving us plenty of privacy which we appreciated. Our bathroom wasn't as clean as we had hoped. Mike noticed and apologized, it's probably not typical. The breakfast was fresh and very delicious!
We only stayed one night but I just loved the house and our room was very comfortable.
We had a jacuzzi which was great! Michael was great! Gave us recommendations where to eat and made us a wonderful breakfast! Including a handcrafted latte!!
Definitely want to go back sometime and stay longer. Maybe try out another of the rooms :)
Michael contacted us by phone on the day we arrived, while still visiting relatives. He wanted to make sure to coordinate with us as he had errands to run.
He is a warm, fascinating human being who shares his wonderful home with others. Luckily, we were among the others.
The house is incredible--what a library!--the food is wonderful (& tailored to each guest) and Michael has incredibly interesting stories.
Our favorite moment was the breakfast we had on the patio (pictured). It was magical.
Very nice experience for a single night. Michael was a comfortable host and gave us suggestions for walks in the beautiful neighborhood. Our room was as described in the listing. Breakfast was delicious and enjoyable to eat with other guests and share stories with Michael. As a special bonus just before we left, Michael treated us to a brief performance on some very unique musical instruments. It was a memorable stay.
AMAZING AS ALWAYS! Best air bnb I have ever stayed at. GREAT HOST who is smart, fun and very hospitable. Best part of my Ohio trips is staying here
Michael is a friendly host. He was able to accommodate me with a last minute booking as I drove through Ohio. A huge house -- yet unique & charming place to stay. Plus Michael will cook you a delicious breakfast. Wish I could have have stayed a few more nights. You also have the opportunity to interact with other guests in the common areas if you'd like. Ample street parking.
An absolutely beautiful house and neighborhood with a wonderful host. Michael was very accommodating, extremely kind, and made our stay very memorable. And the breakfast... simply amazing!
We'll definitely return when we next visit Cincinnati.

Bella Notte is more than just a B&B. It's my home. It's decorated in an eclectic mix and the many books and antiques have deep personal meaning, so please respect them. While I know you will enjoy the atmosphere, its just as much about breakfast. Bella Notte exists for "foodies" and the menu is varied. Let me know if you have any preferences or foods you need to avoid and I will make every effort to craft a meal for you that you will savor and enjoy to begin each day here.
In the tradition of my family, mealtime is about sharing our lives through conversation. While you may dine alone, I encourage you to engage the other guests, as well as myself, in discussion and intellectual exploration. Humor is always appreciated, as is serious reflection. so don't be shy. Join us for a dynamic breakfast experience you will help to create.
