About This Listing
Our inviting and bright home was recently completely renovated to have all the modern luxuries. This house has a great neighborhood feel in the heart of Downtown Charleston!
My wife and I just purchased this recent renovation so its still has that brand new feel. The left side of the downstairs is completely open to the kitchen. The living room features a custom dining room table with seating for 8, comfy couches, 42" flat screen TV and a buffet. The right side of the house features a full bath, guest room (with queen size bed and closet). The back door leads to the screened in back porch complete with furniture. The back porch overlooks the backyard, which is currently a bit of a work in progress. The upstairs is a master bedroom featuring a king size bed, walk in closet and extremely spacious bathroom.
If you want to head to the beach, let me know how many guests you have and I'll have some beach chairs/towels ready for you! I can provide directions and descriptions of all the beaches around if you need.
You should know while we will have the house completely cleaned before your arrival, we do own a dog. She won't be there, but just in case you have severe allergies.
You'll have access to everything except the garage, and one bedroom in the house. So only 2 bedrooms are available. While you're there though feel free to read any of the magazines around the living room.
Interaction with Guests
I have my phone on me at all times and will be excellent at communication prior to your stay. During your stay I will check my phone at least once per day, but depending on where I am traveling it may be more. I'll be sure to keep you in the loop with my communication when you book!
Our neighborhood is one of the oldest in Charleston and is very quiet, especially for downtown. You won't hear fire trucks screaming by at all hours! There are at least 2 parks within 3 block of our house, one of which is the beautiful Hampton Park. Hampton park is perfect for a morning jog or walk, and features lovely gardens and a walk/run path as well as basketball/tennis/soccer. It is just near the Citdael, Military College of the South. they keep a pretty low profile most of the time, but if you're up early enough you can hear them doing their morning drills.
We're also about 4 blocks from the Ashley River and I can provide directions to the best little spot to walk to for viewing sunset. The views are spectacular.
This neighborhood just recently got a GREAT new restaurant, Rutledge Cab Co. Its a 4 block walk down Rutledge Avenue and serves up some of the best burgers, flatbreads and other fare around. I highly recommend if you'd like to walk to dinner. Or you can try Moe's Crosstown, known as the best local bar about 4 blocks in the other direction of our house. Super friendly, laid back and also some of the best burgers around.
And since you're staying downtown, take a 5 minute cab ride or hop on a bus if you have reservations to any of the million awesome restaurants in the Upper King District.
I live about 2 miles from the center of downtown, and about 4 miles if you wanted to go all the way down to the battery. So if you're feeling adventurous you can always walk! If walking is out, I would recommend either snagging a cab or jumping on the CARTA. Cab rides from my place are relatively cheap (~$5 to Upper King) since the house is already downtown. Or the CARTA charges about $1.50 per ride and can take you almost anywhere on the peninsula.
Other Things to Note
My wife and I have lived downtown for 4 years now, and she has lived in the area for almost her whole life. So if you have any questions about the area please let us know! Where to eat, what to see, what not to see etc. We can always make some great recommendations for you!
This is our home, this is our FIRST home. We think its very nice and we treat it well. We expect you to do the same! As a great house guest we expect that you:
Respect our privacy, respect our furniture, clean up after yourself, do not smoke, be mindful of the neighbors.
Please let me know if you intend to bring a pet. All pets will be evaluated case by case!
Our stay was perfect! This house was beautiful, very clean, and spacious for our weekend trip. The pictures don't do it justice. The home is gorgeous and decorated to show off the Charleston southern charm. Check-in was easy and there was plenty of parking on the street. A $10 cab ride to downtown or King street made it easy to get to and from dinner and nightlife. I would definitely stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay at this home. The host was very easy to communicate with and left a thorough information sheet that answered any questions we may have had. The house is decorated beautifully and was very clean. A short drive to the downtown district as well. Very pleased with our stay! Thank you!
We appreciated the timely email with details on how to get in the house and other house rules. The house was beautiful, the pictures don't do it justice. The neighborhood was comfortable, we did not feel out of place or unwelcome at any point. We drove our own car, so the proximity to downtown/historic Charleston was just fine. We would definitely stay here again.
This beautifully renovated house met our needs perfectly. It's very convenient to downtown and is located near several great restaurants.
Instructions for check-in and checkout were very clear.
Thank you, Will for a great experience with AirBnb and for being such an awesome host. The house location and convenience was perfect for our group and we couldn't have been more comfortable. The house was super clean and had all we needed to relax and rest our heads at night! Charleston is such a fun and beautiful city and we can't wait to return. Will def inquire about Will's house again in the future.
We loved our stay in the Waterhouse home. Everything was perfectly clean and comfortable. There was plenty of room inside and a nice screened in porch and fenced in backyard. The beds and bedding were super comfortable and the bathrooms and showers worked well. We liked the neighborhood and could walk to breakfast at Park Cafe, which was wonderful! Parking was easy on the street. The drive was direct and quick to the downtown area, maybe 5 minutes by car. We will try to stay here again on our next visit to Charleston. I would highly recommend this stay. No issues or problems. Everything was perfect!
