Enjoy the college town fun without the hassle!! This home is located in an older suburban neighborhood with big beautiful trees! It is within walking or biking distance to campus, Kirkwood (the fun, trendy street with great shopping and restaurants), and Bryan Park (complete with lots of green space, and a big fancy pool). You can park in my driveway, and you are about a 5 minute walk from catching the Bloomington Transit anywhere you need to go.
You'll stay in a clean, colorful house with a gracious host, who can direct you to all of the fun things Bloomington has to offer. You will be provided with a continental breakfast, and for other meals, the kitchen is well stocked with cooking tools. Feel free to save $ by cooking for yourself whenever you like, as long as you clean up afterwards. You'll have access to a washer and dryer, you're also welcome to borrow a bike, and feel free to hop onto my wireless internet. The house comes with two very friendly kitties (the door is kept closed, so the cats do not go in your room.)
The room has 1 very comfy full bed, a small desk, and a totally empty closet with hangers and shelves to store your things. The room is cozy; approx. 9' x 13', and has less soundproofing between rooms, so if you are a very light sleeper, or if you need space for two people, you may want to check out my other listing for "Colorful Home Close to Campus- BR 1".
I look forward to hosting you!
There is no curfew, but please be sure to enter quietly if you come home after 10pm. You'll enter the house through the "mud room," and please take your shoes off there, so that the main space stays clean. Please no guests without checking with me first. Please do not eat foods from my personal stock without asking, and of course, please respect the space by cleaning up after yourself
Sandy is a great host. I had a last minute change of plans so instead of staying for 2 nights, I could only stay for one. Sandy was very accommodating to change my reservation. My plane was delayed and couldn't until after 11PM, Sandy was kind enough to let me know after the time that I said I would arrive (930PM). The bed was very comfortable. She also provided a towel in the closet. The bedroom is equip with a blow dryer which was very convenient. I would stay at Sandy's again if I'm in Bloomington again.
Sandy was a fabulous host! I was in town for grad school interviews at IU, and it was wonderful to have such a relaxed and comfortable place to prepare and recharge within walking distance of campus.
I spent 5 days in Sandy's house. I can clealy say that It was really good. She made me feel comfortable, and the house was cozy. Soft bed, warm temperature, good piano and pretty cats were all great. If I go back to bloomington, I will stay Sandy's house again :)
Sandy was a wonderful host and I could have not asked for a better place to rest at nights as the pressures of Bloomington surrounded me (I was moving here, but things went a little haywire due to the winter storm(s), starting Grad school, etc) so I needed some space to sort things out). She was kind, inviting, very hospitable and included me in a variety of activities that were enjoyable and extremely fun. I highly recommend you stay with her if you're looking for an airbnb in Bloomington.
sandy was a fantastic host with a wonderful place! she really went out of her way to make sure i had everything i needed during my stay. highly recommended; will definitely stay here again on my next trip to bloomington!
I had a lovely comfortable stay with Sandy that definitely felt like home. First time I stayed long term airbnb experience and Sandy's house was more than I expected. She has great personality and thought of everything to make my stay comfortable. She is such a sweet person and very helpful when I needed. Her house has perfect location and very nice neighborhood. Also her cats are as friendly as Sandy, especially Rufus has great personality and treats you as if you are a member of the house :) So I had spectacular time while I stayed Sandy and we become friends.

Hello! I am a dance studio owner here in Bloomington, and also work at a local nonprofit. I live with my partner Brenden. I am a friendly, social person, and have always loved hosting people in my home. I love hiking, and I can give you tips about fun places to explore. I am into music and dance, and can definitely give you the low down about nightlife here in Bloomington.
I have actually done more travelling abroad than here in the U.S., but I am looking to change that. I really want to see Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, and the beautiful national parks in Utah.
I am an avid reader, and read every single day. Some of my most recent favorites include Life of Pi and Middlesex. Feel free to borrow a book while you are visiting.
I am happy to either be hands-off and give you privacy, or else to hang out with you in the main space. I am a busy person, though, so you may find yourself with a lot of quiet relaxation time.
