Interaction with Guests
I am often at work in my office on the top floor in the separate apartment so I will be around for questions or information.
I love this neighborhood because it is so close to Prospect Park. It is a quiet and green refuge from the busyness of Manhattan.
F train to Fort Hamilton Parkway is two blocks away.
Other Things to Note
Please note that this is my home. I clear out one drawer per dresser per bedroom for your use but some of my clothing and personal objects remain in the house. Also, one of the bedrooms does not have a door and thus is not completely private.
Outside guests for dinner parties only. No smoking in the house. Garbage goes out Monday and Thursday after 5pm. Recycling -- one bin of paper and cardboard and the other of plastic, metal, glass -- goes out Monday evening. If you want to compost, I have a composter in the back yard and the city now composts as well (brown bin). Air conditioners should be turned off when leaving floor and house. Also, please note that the ground floor air conditioner, dish washer, and toaster oven can not be used simultaneously. If this happens the breakers pops and it has to be reset in the basement in box on left at bottom of stairs. Wireless internet password is (phone number hidden) (Zone's wifi network is the name of the network). Also, there is a new sofa in the house; no food or drink on the sofa.
We had a wonderful experience in Meighan's home. It was comfortable, clean, and very conveniently located in a nice neighborhood. She also made us feel very welcomed, and very helpful with any questions we had. We were a large group, and she made certain we were all accommodated comfortably.
Meighan was great and the house was perfect. The house was comfortable and cool with the AC on, and the layout was perfect for my family. There are 6 of us and we spread-out comfortably in the house. As a bonus, the house if close to the F/G lines, which take you directly to Time Square and Central Park. There's a Walgreens close-by and a new whole-foods type grocery within walking distance as well. The house is also close to prospect park and lots of outdoor eating and ice-cream shops. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and the house was one of the best parts.
We needed a place to stay when we were in town to attend our son's graduation at Columbia Business School and found Meighan's lovely place to be the perfect fit for the 3 of us. We have stayed in Manhattan and wanted to try a spot in Brooklyn this time and were very happy with our choice.
Meighan was very accessible as she was on site and was very thorough in showing us all the things about her lovely triplex. She generously gave us access to her pantry, fridge and coffee which was wonderful and we were able to cook a couple of meals during our stay.
We enjoyed the quieter atmosphere and LOVED the garden.
Would definitely stay here again when in town as there are many things within walking distance that we would love to explore when we are in town for a more leisurely weekend.
I can say that expectations have been fully satisfied. We were in 6 and we found Meghan's home comfortable and efficient, with 3 spacious bedroos, 2 bathrooms , a wide dining room with efficient kitchen, located in a clean and well connected district , five min walk from subway.
we enjoyed our stay and was really relaxing to come back home after a day of long walking in NY.
many thanks, Meghan.
We had the most wonderful stay at Meighan's magical house! We couldn't have been cozier and fell in love with her neighborhood. A block from the subway and Prospect Park, with an awesome playground for our little ones. Meighan was incredibly responsive and helpful and made our stay so relaxing and easy, which is always a feat when traveling with 2 little ones and in-laws. The house was clean & so comfortable & beautifully decorated & furnished. Thank you for everything, Meighan! We didn't want to leave!
We had a wonderfull time in Meighan house. It's comfortable, spacious and cozy. The beds are very good. Meighan is a great host, very helpfull and responsive. The neighbourhood is friendly and quiet. Subway, deli's and restaurants are just around the corner or in walking distance. Definitely a place to come back to.
We had a great experience at Meighan's home. We were visiting for Thanksgiving, as New York was a convenient place for my family and my brother lives in the neighborhood.
The house was perfect for our needs. With 3 floors, there was plenty of space for my parents and our son. And the living room / dining room set-up was great for Thanksgiving dinner/watching the Eagles blow out the Cowboys on national television in Dallas.
Location was great for our needs. We took a walk through Prospect Park (a block away from the house). There are some nice restaurants and a good wine shop in walking distance of the house. It's a longish ride to manhattan (i think 7-8 stops to get there), so be prepared for that if you are planning to go to Manhattan regularly.
Meighan was an excellent host. Place was clean and well-supplied, and she was very responsive on everything that came up during our stay.
