My place has been a century-old traditional inn and recently renovated into a spacious Kyo-Machiya style inn named "KINKAKU-RO", where you can feel both traditional and modern sense, officially licensed by the local government. It is located at a quiet residential area in the north part of Kyoto within a walking distance from the famous tourist attractions such as Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion) and Kitano Temmangu. Five free rental bicycles allow you to have an easy access to other nice spots.

Akiko was lovely and gave us a short welcome visit and provided tips for us to find local places to eat and other popular things to do. The house itself is in a quiet neighborhood and has a very traditional feel to it which really added to my trip in Kyoto.

We loved staying at Akiko’s place! The location was amazing, there were many restaurants nearby and the street is so charming. We especially loved using the bikes! Also the bath was very nice. What a great time we had here!
