Carol warmly welcomed us to her very attractive home that is located in a quiet, beautiful residential neighborhood. Our room was clean, very comfortable and simply and tastefully appointed. A continental breakfast was served each morning in her dining room area. Additionally, Carol easily accommodated my husband's food allergies without distress.
"Home away from Home" is minutes away from Tanglewood, and downtown Lenox and provides very easy access to myriad other attractions in the Berkshires. We visit the Berkshires one weekend each summer and will definitely stay with Carol again.
I'm so glad you enjoyed your time here, and I could provide you with gluten-free alternatives. The home-baked breakfasts usually includes one kind of bakery item (such as pumpkin bread, cinnamon nut coffeecake, blueberry muffins, or bran muffins), cereals, fresh fruit, coffee, tea and juice.
I hope to see you again next year, when you return to the beautiful Berkshires.
This, our 2nd stay with Carol, met with our expectations of a great time. Provided with advice about local sights and excursions, we were greeted with hot coffee and a variety of breakfast options. Friendly and informative, tailored her morning to meet our plans and needs. Our room and bath were clean and maintained throughout our stay.
We ended up staying in the Floral Room downstairs, so this is a review of that room, not this one. The shared spaces and overall experience are the same. The house is wonderfully located, very near Tanglewood and on a quiet residential street heading toward October Mountain. The room was simple and clean (the king size bed takes up most of the floor space), as was the bathroom in the hallway outside (rather small but adequate, with a stall shower). Percolator coffee in the morning was a nice touch. The rooms are in Carol's house and the shared space is her living space, so people looking for a more private experience will not find that here. (The upstairs room might feel a bit more private.) A solid choice for an affordable stay very close to the local arts attractions.
I am sorry Terry didn't express her need for privacy. I practice consideration of others, and specifically had asked her if they would like me to move from the living room (they were on the deck, outside the living room). She said it was alright for me to be there.
There is enough space in this house that I can find another part of the house to be. I would have been happy to move.
carol made me feel very welcome and gave me directions to kripalu etc.....also she made me delicious coffee in the morning.
My fiance and I had a great time staying with Carol! We were in town for a friend's wedding and the location was very convenient for our trip. The room was spacious as advertised. Room and bathroom were extremely clean. Carol was a gracious host and made amazing muffins in the morning! Would definitely recommend staying here and would stay here again if we are back in the area!
After quite a hassle arranging this booking, we were finally able to seal the deal and know we had accommodations for our stay. I complement Carol on her patience with the process, too.
The house is very conveniently located for Tanglewood fans. The rooms are nice, and Carol is a most gracious host. She is proud of her home, and she is comfortable sharing it with her guests. We would be happy to return.
I was told Airbnb was re-doing their website at that time, so this may have created the problem with arranging the booking. Also, Airbnb told me that people were having problems if they tried to book using an IPhone, and Greg said he was trying to use an IPhone to book the room. In any case, with patience all around, we made it happen.

About the Host, Carol
Kindness is my motto, being respectful, and helpful, so as to ensure harmony and happiness here.
I love all kinds of music. I sing many different kinds of music. Tanglewood, which is where the Boston Symphony Orchestra plays in the summer, is just four miles, and it's so convenient to go to a concert on a summer's night.
I love to swim and hike in the Berkshires. The mountains are beautiful here, and the public beach on the lake is just one mile away.
I also love meeting new people, and helping them be comfortable here. There are so many things to do in the summer, and I can direct you to where there are places and activities of your interest.
