  • We arrived late at night, and from what we saw, the grounds looked lovely. Unfortunately, the villa was not completely clean. There was insect feces on the bed and a lot of it on a frame hanging above the bed (my husband is an entomologist, so he is easily able to recognize it). We were traveling with our baby and didn't feel comfortable sleeping there with her, particularly because of the insect feces in the bed, so we changed to another hotel that night.

  • Thank you for a great stay!! We loved the villa!!
The villa looks just like in the photos and was in a good location. A few minutes walk to the main road where we could hail a taxi. We loved staying in Sanur away from the hustle and bustle of Kuta.
Gede was very friendly and a great help, willing to make any arrangements we needed.

  • Great place. G'dday Gedde thanks for all your help and fun. Really enjoyed our stay and you made everyday a fun with your laughter and smile. The place itself is very nice although a bit of a problem with moisture. Mosquitoes were annoying at times but only itched for a short while. Loved the freedom of our own pool and breakfast made for us. Perhaps they could make the towel/linen service a bit more available ie daily or 2 daily. If you (email hidden) with a couple of average restaurants nearby fine otherwise a 10 minute taxi ride into Sanur. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

  • Not as advertised. Needs a lot of updating. Found cockroaches in the bedroom and loads of stray cats drinking from the pool. Would not recommend.

  • We were initially surprised when we first arrived as we thought we we're renting a house with common living areas etc but this is actually a couple of villa's in a small private resort. Once we settled into this idea our group had a great stay. The rooms were large and each villa consisted of two main rooms with an optional adjoining door via the kitchenette. The kitchenette facilities were basic and a little difficult with baby but we adapted. The setting was very private, quite an escape from Ubud. It's a nice walk downhill to town and a short taxi back. The place has a classic feel and quite rustic, different from the glossy new hotels and gives you a sense of the real Bali. The pool is amazing and the staff helpful. Our host was great, ensuring we had a excellent baby setup with cot, highchair, carseat and stroller etc provided.

  • The villa was exactly how it is being shown in the pictures. The pool was big and the facilities are all in good condition. Location is near beach, you can reach the beach within 10 minutes by motorbike or taxi. Supermarket and nice restaurants are all in the vicinity.

Gede was our butler, he was very helpful with all our queries and needs. There were however two incidents of power failure. The first night was due to a heavy storm in the middle of the night but the power came back on one hour later after we called Gede to ask for help, where Gede had contacted the local utility company. The second night was because the villa had ran out of power credits, we contacted Gede and he suggested for us to wait a little longer but after two hours we decided to contact Nyoman directly. It was already near 12 midnight but Nyoman agreed to meet us at the villa immediately when he heard about the situation. He was very sorry about the incident and took us out for some hot drinks while waiting for the power to be back on. We waited till 3 in the morning for the power to be back on because during the website to purchase power credits was under maintainence. Nyoman actually stayed throughout and made an effort to make sure that everything was alright before he left us. Nyoman was very sincere and offered a night of stay on them. He immediately did the refund the next day.

Even though there was power failure, the host and butler was contactable, quick and sincere in their response to the situation. Very nice place, despite the power failures, we manageed to enjoyed the stay. I would recommend the villa for families and couples.

  • Enjoyed our stay at Villa Lestari overall but there were a few issues. We were led to believe by the host that the villa was a 10 - 15 minute walk to the main shopping area , shops and another 5 minutes to the beach. It turned out that the walk was more like 45 minutes - 1 hour, meaning you needed taxis continually. There was a problem with the electricity, it kept cutting out. Although there was no television for there first 2 days we were grateful they installed paid TV. The villa itself is lovely and our butler Gede was wonderful - would likely stay again knowing what to expect.

  • We had a very nice stay at Puri Radha - the villa is on a side street right around the corner (email hidden) where you can eat for cheap, and it does feel like a sanctuary away from the center of busy Kuta. We did have one issue, which was that on our last night it rained very heavily and the rain came through our roof. When I mentioned this to the staff they seemed to know about the leak - implying it was already an issue but hadn't been fixed yet. It was a sizable leak and luckily landed on the corner of the bed so we didn't get wet, but if we had had any clothes (or electronics) on the floor around there it would have been bad. So I would definitely inquire as to whether this has been fixed before staying there, unless it's not the rainy season in which case you should have no problem. Overall the staff was wonderful, helped arrange a motorbike rental (which I would recommend as you are a 30 minute walk from the beach), and the place otherwise is very pretty.

  • Villa Praba is a really great house. The pictures are pretty accurate, though do be aware that the only areas of the house that are completely (completely by Bali standards) closed are the two bedrooms. The main area and the upstairs areas both have openings to the outside. In Balinese weather, that means it is actually a bit difficult to spend much time using those spaces. And the kitchen, while somewhat enclosed is ravaged by mosquitoes on a nightly basis.

Nyoman is incredibly friendly as a host and made sure we were greeted upon arrival with a set of keys. Everything in the house is taken care of by the staff of the house, though it does sometimes take a bit of reminding to get things done. In particular the pool which was supposed to be cleaned regularly, went weeks without seeing any maintenance whatsoever. The shower head was broken as were lights in a few areas and they didn't get fixed at all during our stay.

The internet, while technically included, is basically useless. During our initial stay of 5 days (which we ended up extending for over 5 weeks), I offered to pay for an upgrade and while I was told it would be upgraded, over a month later, nothing had changed.

The place is great for a short stay, but our stay become more frustrating and ultimately led us to look elsewhere after a few weeks of unresolved issues. Perhaps it's common in Bali with staff present at different times, but it was very hard to find any privacy as someone or another would come by unannounced with a key to every door.

The location is close to everything, as Jalan Bumbak is a long residential road that has many exits to popular areas. Finding the right shortcuts can cut your travel time in half.
