Our modern yet cosy flat is in a quiet side street five minutes away from Cowley Road, it comfortably sleeps two, and if you have a young child you can make use of our nursery in the second bedroom. Take advantage of our private garden.
Our flat is the top one of three. We're listing it as a one bedroom flat because the second bedroom is actually a nursery with a cot, which if you have a little one with you, you are welcome to use, just please let us know beforehand so we can get it ready for you. East Oxford is a really great place to be, there is so much going on and lots of places to eat and drink.
The following pub's/cafe's/restaurant's are all very good, and within 15 minutes walk..
- The Rusty bicycle - pub on Hurst Street
- The Magdalen Arms - pub/restaurant on Magdalen Road
- The Fir tree - pub on Iffley Road
- The Oxford Blue - restaurant/pub on Marston Street
- Oxfork - for breakfast, brunch on Magdalen Road
- Kazbaar - morrocan/spanish tapas and cocktails on Cowley Road
If you want live music, or just a lively atmosphere, just take a walk down Cowley road, you're sure to find a place that suits your taste and mood!
There are also some great walks you can do...
If you walk up Iffley Road (away from city centre) then turn right on to Donnington Bridge Road, you will reach the Thames. You can then turn right and walk 20 minutes along the river to go to the city centre, or you can turn left and walk for 5 minutes along the river to reach the Isis (beautiful pub with a large garden, open from Thursday to Sunday)
There is a regular bus service from Cowley Road, just five minutes walk away, from here you can get to many places including the town centre, bus station and train station.
No smoking or pets.
The flat was very nice and big. Relatively close to the city centre. It took us around 20 min to get there. The area is very nice and friendly with a lot of places to eat or to hang out.
You have a Sansbury's very close too, so you can buy some food and cook it.
The only thing that was a bit off is that it was cold during the first night. Later the flat warmed up and it all ok.
As informed ahead of time, Barry was on holidays the weekend we stayed at the flat. He promptly provided us with the required check-in information.
The location was great, and the provided eating recommendations were great as well! We loved the Mr. White pizza from the Rusty Bicycle, and breakfast at Oxfork was fantastic. No issues with the facilities at the flat.
Our weekend in Oxford was simplified and improved by staying at Barry's flat. His cute and well-appointed apartment is perfect for a couple looking to stay in a true "homey" place. Barry even left out info sheets and suggestions of places to eat, drink, and tour. An amazing experience, overall!
Although we never met Barry in person he was very helpful and the flat was in great condition on arrival. The flat is the perfect location for visiting Oxford with the centre of town a short walk from the flat and a great pub around the corner. The flat was very comfortable and a peaceful place to stay with a well equipped kitchen and lovely living room. I would highly recommend Barry's flat to anyone visiting Oxford.
Barry was a very nice host, the flat was quiet and cozy. It's nicely done up, with a lot of plants. We liked the style of the furniture very much.
Enjoyed a super stay at Barry's flat. Perfect location on a peaceful street but a stones throw away from a selection of great local pubs and near the fab Cowley Road too! Only twenty minutes or so walk from the city centre and also close to the Thames and the countryside. Flat itself was perfect for our needs, clean and spacious. We unfortunately only had the one night stay this time but will definitely look up Barry's place again on our next visit to Oxford.
I love being outdoors and exploring, usually mountain biking or hiking with friends. But afterwards there's nothing better than a few beers in a good pub... and fortunately there's plenty of them around here!
