Description

The space

Wicker House is located in Cazadero and is a beautifully styled secluded creek-side cottage off the main road, overlooking Austin Creek and nestled in a redwood forest. From the deck or comfortable couch in the spacious living room, one can take in the views of Austin Creek. The open dining area is adjacent to the living room with a well-appointed kitchen just beyond. There is a large cozy bedroom with a separate sitting room. Amenities include: hot tub, gas grill, king size bed, sofa bed in sitting room, double size shower, cable, WIFI, unlimited long distance telephone.

Wicker House is located within 10 miles of the confluence of the Russian River and the Pacific Ocean at Jenner. In Cazadero the spring and summer months are cool and refreshing and fall and winter are quiet and cozy. In the rainy season the creek is full and rapid. However this summer the creek is running low due to the drought but is still a peaceful place to enjoy the surrounding nature. In any season you will enjoy a relaxing vacation in these majestic surroundings.

There is much to be enjoyed out of doors in the Russian River area including fishing, kayaking, hiking, beach combing, visiting the many spectacular wineries of Sonoma County, and of course shopping in the quaint Russian River towns along Hwy 116.

Guest access

Guests may access the common areas on the property where outdoor tables and chairs offer a great place to get some sun, read a good book, or snooze.
There is also a Ping Pong table for guests use. Austin Creek, while runs low in summer, still offers some cooling pools in the hot months. The creek is accessible via stairs.
Additionally, the property is located off an unpaved road that is a perfect route for a walk, jog, or a stroll. At the end of the road is a huge meadow that opens up to the Boys Scout Camp.

Interaction with guests

Interaction with Guests is minimal to none. The owners or their representative is on the property during the guests stays but you would only encounter them if you needed something or had questions. Wicker House is designed to be a haven from people, worries, politics, and world problems!

Getting around

You would really need to have your own transportation to get around, There are many activities to engage in but they are all a distance from Wicker House.

With my husband, Ferd Silva, we own the Wicker House. We bought our first acre on the current property in 1986 as a weekend getaway for us while we lived and worked in the Bay Area. In 2000, we bought the next two acres which included the Wicker House. In 2002, we left urban life in the Bay Area and settled full time in our beloved redwoods. We have never looked back. The Wicker House became a vacation rental three years ago and we have continuously upgraded and updated the house in order to make it a most comfortable and memorable experience for our guests. What a pleasure it is for us to make new friends and share our little piece of paradise with you!
